Chapter 34: Search for the Alpha's Mate

"Good evening, everyone! I apologize for being late again."

Sebastian bowed his head and asked for forgiveness. His grandfather sighed deeply and held Stevenson's arm. "Stay here...,"

Stevenson looked at him for a moment. He wanted to scold his son for causing trouble and for making everyone wait for too long.

"Yes, My Lord." He said and moved his head to meet Sebastian's gaze. "Go to the usual spot, now!"

Sebastian tilted his head, looked at his grandfather's eyes, and waited for his blessing.

"Tonight, as my grandson seated on the throne, I am humbly asking for your understanding and cooperation. As we gathered here today, I will be announcing a life-changing truth for all of us that will conserve ourselves from the danger."

Everyone listened to him. He was right, werewolf's hunters scattered throughout the deep forest, searched for beasts as they yearned for gathering evidence and they were after the large sum of bounty from rich people in the country.

Sebastian looked at them one by one. He was searching for someone but he failed to get in touch with him.

"If you're wondering why we have still to remain hidden from the public, you knew what are the reasons behind." The oldest werewolf reminded everyone about their real identity, hideaway, and the ugly truth they were facing.

Sebastian looked at his father. He wanted to ask him about the new werewolf student who suddenly appeared on campus earlier.

"Tonight, as we all gather here, I am proud to announce that my grandson finally accepted his faith. Sebastian Woo, my dearest and only grandson is now taking the throne from me, and his father, Stevenson."

All members of the last pack cheered and hailed for their new, leader and King. Sebastian has the power to rule them, to give an order which they must obey.

Sebastian gulped while listening to their voices. He knew being a leader will never be easy for a young, teenage boy.

But, he trusted himself, his grandfather who believed in him since the beginning. "And now, to conserve our breed, our culture, Sebastian must find and search for his mate."

"B--but how can he find his mate if no one left?" One of the members asked the old man.

Instead of getting pressured, he chuckled, caressed his chin, and replied with a mischievous smile on his lips. "I do believe that he will find her at the right time. And, he must not rush things up. Finding a mate is like planting a seed and wait for how many years until it grows high and tall."

Everyone nodded their heads, agreed to the old man's word of wisdom. They then looked at each other, thought about it until one of them raised her hands.

The old man said, "Yes, do you have something in mind?"

The woman who aged like Sebastian's mother took a deep breath before she uttered a word.

She looked at the young alpha seated on the throne, "Wh--what type of girl he must marry with, My Lord? We all know that we are living in the world of ordinary humans... And they will never accept us!"

Stevenson moved his head and glanced at his father. He looked so calm and certain that his grandson will meet his beloved, long-awaited mate.

"She's right, My Lord. If the Young Master marries an ordinary girl, she might gonna die if she will give birth to a young girl." A man stood in front of them added.

The tension, the possibilities of failing grew and embraced the entire place. Stevenson began to worry, to think that his son will fail everyone.

The old man looked down, thought for a better, candid answer. He knew about the prophecy, the destiny of his grandson but he must keep it until he turned eighteen.

The peaceful surroundings filled with whispers, small talks about it until the old man lifted his arms and closed his fist.

It was a sign of silence, peace, and unity. He then slowly stood from the chair which made everyone surprised and startled.

They had thought that he couldn't stand anymore after the battle against his mortal enemy happened many years ago.

"Yo--you can stand and even walk by yourself! Ho--how did you do that, Grandpa?" Sebastian gripped the handle of the chair, chased his breath.

But Lord Solomon gave him a meaningful smile, stood beside him, and faced all of them with authority.

His eyes glowed, his old features flaunted. "Let my grandson choose the girl he wants to marry with. This is our last chance to live longer in this world, and if the new successor will be born, the future will be in our hands and ordinary humans will bow their heads before us."

"And that means that I can marry someone I like, is that so, Grandpa?"

A long, deafening silence meddled in between. Everyone looked his way, held their breaths, and waited for an answer.

Sebastian had never been fall in love. He never knew what it felt like but Zenith would tell him that it felt too good.

Love would unite two different nations, two different creatures, and even the entire world and other dimensions.

His eyes widened and there was one girl who flashed into his mind. She was an ordinary, simple yet beautiful young lady.

He tried to control it, tried to get rid of the thought of her but his grandpa turned around and looked intently into his glinting eyes.

"I know you had met the girl who will be the mother of your children, Sebastian. Open your eyes, listen to the music of your heart, feel it through your body and soul...," He paused, reached for his hands, and slightly tapped it.

The old man closed his eyes, "Be true to yourself and the rest will come your way."

"B--but how would I know if she's the girl I wanna marry with?" He asked like an innocent lad.

Stevenson giggled secretly, he turned around, rubbed his nape. "Come on, Sebastian! Don't be a fool and be a well grown-up man." spoke a woman out of nowhere.

She was standing in the darkness, wore a black sleeve and trousers. Sebastian moved his gaze to the woman, looked into her way until she walked out from the dark.

"Happiness and contentment," She paused.

"You will know if it's real when you feel happy with her, always."

Sebastian widened his eyes upon hearing it from her, "M--mother!" He exclaimed and watched Sarah stood in front of him.
