Can I kiss you?” He asked lightly, looking up from her lips into her eyes. “If you don’t kiss me right now, I think I may go mad,” she said, nodding her head quickly. Chapter 17: First Day

Samantha had woken up at five in the morning.

That was something she had not done in a very long time. Her previous days had consisted of waking up late in the afternoon and doing whatever she pleased throughout the day while doing the same at night. But she had a job now.

Despite waking up that early and resetting her entire sleep schedule, she was feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day.

“Good morning Wilma,” She greeted cheerfully as she entered through the bakery’s backdoor and the elderly woman raised her eyebrow sceptically at her new employee.

“What has gotten you in such a good mood? Have a fun night?”

Samantha let out a snort at the woman’s straightforward question and waved her hand in front of her own face as if to push the question aside.

“I am just very excited to work with your wonderful self, of course,” she replied.

At that remark Wilma let out a noise of her own and hopped down from the small stool she used to better stand at the high counter.
