Chapter 1 - Crying Won't Bring Him Back

RICHARDSON'S POV

Alpha Elite Academy was a school filled with great academic talents, both from the rich and the poor background. I hated the school. I tell no one that but it's the truth.

I didn't really understand why the other

students were sulking over the corpse of that disgusting man they called Principal. Idiots. The whole lot. That man deserved a fate worse than that.

It's been a month since his death and the cops won't let the case go.

A tall dark woman, confident and somewhat presentable entered the room I was to be interrogated. I've seen movies with wasted female detectives but this one managed to impress me; she cleaned up well in her gray blazer and red inner.

She tosses a file on the table in front of me before taking her seat.

"It says here that you're one of the top students," she said pointing at the file, "a true elite even".

That's very forward, as a expected from a woman of such caliber. She was probably in her mid thirties.

I stared at her in response, my expression as stoic as ever.

"I heard you were very close to Mr. Adu, and were pretty much around him 24/7, Richardson" she continued, "was there anything odd you noticed about him the night before he died, and where were you."

She skipped formalities, that's an odd thing for a cop to do. I decided to give her the description of what had transpired between me and the man before his untimely death.

"That night was just like any other night. He invited to his office to discuss his plans for the school that semester and how he trusted me to become head prefect of the Alphans. He always liked coffee and drank some while we discussed. There was absolutely nothing odd about him. I left the office to return to my dormitory. That's all."

She squints at me for some time.

"You know," she said, "you looked pretty unfazed by the matter. I expected his supposed right hand man to be completely astonished by the matter, broken even. Could there be something you're hiding beneath that poker face of yours?"

What a nosy one.

"Crying won't bring him back from the dead. Why do it?" I replied her.

"Mm" she nodded clearly finding my statement astounding and opened the file and jotted something down.

Have some idea about my story? Comment it and let me know.
