Lanshan Temple, capital city.
Some men in black sidelined the people and children waiting in a queue. The appearance of these fierce bodyguards silenced the words of protest on the mouth of some people who were unhappy with the way they were sidelined.
As Lei Junshan entered the temple, a hushed reverence settled among the gathered crowd. The early morning sun cast a gentle, golden glow upon the temple's worn stone steps, highlighting his every step. Standing at a height of 190 cms, Lei Junshan's posture was a harmonious blend of athleticism and grace. His high cheekbones accentuated his facial structure, leading down to a well-defined jawline that added a hint of masculinity. His eyes, almond-shaped and expressive, reflected a sense of mystery. Long, dark eyelashes framed his eyes, giving them a captivating allure.
Lei Junshan walked straight to the priest and said coldly, "This merger is very important for our company. I hope it will be a smooth and prosperous union."
The priest took the offerings from Lei Junshan and nodded calmly, "You may bow down and seek the blessings of god."
Lei Junshan agreed and offered his prayers by bowing down in front of the deity.
At this time, a lady walked over fiercely to the entrance of the temple. Her long, obsidian hair cascaded down her back like a glossy waterfall, each strand catching the sunlight and shimmering as she moved. The gentle breeze played with her hair, creating an ethereal dance of ebony tresses. Her almond-shaped eyes held a serene and contemplative gaze. They sparkled with an inner light, reflecting the tranquility of the temple grounds.
"Excuse me ma'am, you cannot enter. Our master is an exclusive VIP and when he is praying, no one is allowed to enter," Lei Junshan's main bodyguard Gu Qiang stopped Xin Yue from entering the temple.
Xin Yue looked at Gu Qiang and stopped in her tracks, "Hello, excuse me…" She called out to Lei Junshan.
As Lei Junshan was in the middle of his prayers, he did not even turn to look at Xin Yue.
Seeing the man ignore her, Xin Yue smirked, "Attitude?"
She then glanced at her surrounding people and uttered loudly so as to make Lei Junshan hear her, "How dare you ignore Xin Yue?"
The priest could not see Xin Yue putting herself in danger by offending Lei Junshan. He hurriedly walked over to her, "Xiao Yue, what are you doing?"
"What am I doing?" Xin Yue did not realize that she was messing with the wrong person, "What are you doing? Why did you allow this man to break the queue? Do you think that the people waiting in the line have nothing better to do than wait in a queue?"
"Xiao Yue, what are you saying? Please calm down," The priest tried his best to explain the situation to Xin Yue, "People always bow down in front of power and we cannot even think of offending these powerful people."
Xin Yue did not intend to listen to the priest's advice. When she saw the other people standing under sun waiting for their turn to come, her heart ached. At the same time, anger surged inside her when she thought that the people were suffering because of the man inside the temple.
She scolded, "Hello, mister. You are bothering so many people, but you don't even have slightest pity in your heart for them? I want an answer. How did you dare to break the queue?"
A frown appeared on Lei Junshan's handsome face on hearing Xin Yue's loud voice. He finally turned around to see the person who dared to question him. When he saw Xin Yue, he walked towards her furiously.
Lei Junshan halted abruptly in front of Xin Yue and slapped a stack of banknotes on her face, the crisp bills making a sharp, resounding impact as they struck her delicate cheek, "The things that I can pay for, I break them."
Saying this, he put on his sunglasses and walked away. Xin Yue's expression transformed from surprise to simmering anger. Her eyes blazed with a fiery intensity as she brushed the banknotes away, her hands trembling with rage.
…
After he was done, Lei Junshan waited beside his car for his bodyguards as they were distributing the offerings to everyone in the temple. Soon after, he saw the girl who was arguing with him walk towards him furiously.
Her eyes blazed with anger and her face showed no fear of the consequences of her upcoming actions.
Lei Junshan stared at Xin Yue as she pulled a baseball bat in her hand and directly struck the windshield of his car.
"Bang!"
The glass shattered completely before Lei Junshan's eyes. This was something that had never happened to him. Being a son of the prestigious Lei family, Lei Junshan had always seen people bow down in front of their family. He had never seen someone acting so brazenly.
Xin Yue did not care about anything as she strode towards Lei Junshan and slapped the same stack of banknotes on his face making his eyes go wide in shock.
"The things that I can pay for, I also break them," She reverted his own words back fiercely before walking away.
After she left, Lei Junshan came back to his senses. He then made a swift and forceful motion to cast aside the stack of banknotes in a fit of intense anger and frustration,. The once-valuable bills were now rendered insignificant by the overwhelming surge of emotions.
Before he could think of anything else, Lei Junshan's phone rang.
[Yes, mom.]
[Junshan, where are you? You are the eldest son of the Lei family. Today is the birthday of your late grandfather. The one who will pay his respects to the old man first will be assumed as the heir of the Lei family. You must reach here before your cousins.]
Hearing his mother's words, Lei Junshan's anger increased. Not knowing what to do, he threw his cellphone in anger on the ground. The impact resonated with a shattering crack as glass and metal met the unyielding surface.
As the shattered remnants of the device lay scattered on the ground, Lei Junshan's chest heaved with a mixture of anger and frustration.
