005 : Successful Injection

William jumped off the stool and looked at the removed bookcase, and a ladder leading to the underground level was exposed at the back.

"As I thought, you really have a secret passageway from your house to the laboratory, let's go down, hahahaha!!" William said as he dragged Erskine down through the passage.

After entering the Laboratory, William looked at it with surprise, even though it was 40s in this world, this place was not short of anything "modern"

There were complex instruments and gauges all around, there were all kinds of meters around the table.

This place pooled like a retro themed modern laboratory.

Not to forget the big ass coffin like case on the pedestal in the middle of the room.

William went around the main entrance to the lab as he shut the buker like door firmly, he didn't want any surprises while he was under his transformation process.

He checked all around for any more entrance and concluded there weren't any more.

Willian walked around the corner as he said "Doctor, this place is great, you designed this or Howard??"

"Can you untie me now? You know I can't do a thing to you." Dr. Erskine said while looking at William.

"Of course, it's time already" William walked over and cut open the rope that tied the Doctor with a slash of knife.

Dr. Erskine twisted his body out of the entangled ropes as he asked last time "Are you really sure you want to inject the serum?"

"Then what do you think?? I came all this way just to drink with you??" William said lightly.

"Injecting serum is risky, one can easily die. No one knows what will happen." Dr said, he knew William won't back down, so he used reverse psychology to make William more determined about getting the serum to keep him here.

"Well, that's scary..." William looked scared, acting of course.

"But doctor, do you think I'm scared? I have already died once, it won't matter if I do twice" William said.

He already knew that this serum was the final and successful product of all the researches this doctor had done, the Doctor wouldn't have agreed with selecting Steve if he wasn't at least 95% sure the serum would work.

William ripped off his off all of his clothes, putting all the scars he had gained during his lifetime on the display. From burn marks to bullet holes to nasty slashes, there was everything on his body.

There was a reason why William was feared even if his gang was relatively small.

There was a hint of surprise in Doc's eyes but he shrugged it off, he had seen worse on the battlefield.

"Don't worry, it's just little details, let's carry on with our work" William said in a light tone, feeling excited about getting the Serum.

Dr. Erskine just shook his head a little as he turned around to turn the power on.

"How long does it take Doc?" William asked

"Twenty minutes" Dr. Erskine said.

"Make it ten, don't forget about your lovely wife that's still outside" William said while not even looking at the Doc.

Looking at William's smile, Dr. Erskine secretly cursed 'Devil' in his heart, and then said helplessly: "Ten minutes will do."

"Don't stand idle, we have work to do, start the process" William said as he continues "You're not a fool that needs to be reminded of everything"

Dr. Erskine, was already depressed became even more, he had already sent his SOS to the military but it would take time for them to arrive, more than 15 minutes he presumed.

"Follow me." Dr. Erskine stepped onto the round platform and said "Walk up."

"Doctor, I trust you very much. For your own safety, and for your wife's safety, I hope we can co-operate happily." William smiled kindly, then hopped into the iron coffin like machine and laid inside comfortably.

Dr. Erskine took a deep breath and muttered "I see."

"That's it," said Dr. Abraham Erskine, two robotic arms pressed against Wu Yang's chest, holding Wu Yang's body firmly.

"That's it" The Doctor said as two robotic arms presses against William's chest, then onto his arms, his torso and finally his legs.

"First, a series of minimally invasive injections will inject serum into your muscle groups, then the serum will stimulate selective cell growth, and then penetrates into the subject through the Vita rays will speed up the process by a thousand times"

Dr. Erskine took out six blue serum tubes, each one was placed in the instrument hole on either side of William.

"Starting the injection, count down five seconds, five, four, three, two, one." Dr. Erskine pressed a button.

As much as he wanted to to kick William out, he had to admit that William's body was a perfect specimen to try the serum on.

He wanted to know of there would be any other effects now that the subject already had considerable muscle mass.

Not to mention that his inner scientist was going mad to see the results.

All the needles inside this Iron Maiden injected themselves, William felt as though he was stung by a thousand bees on every place in his body.

Six blue serum vials were rapidly reduced and injected into William's body. William's expression getting worse as the pain increased exponentially.

He could feel the convulsions in his muscles as his muscles started moving randomly.

After the injection, Dr. Abraham Erskine pulled a lever, the entire Iron chamber moved, and stood straight, and during it standing, it's gates closed together, and finally became a sealed cabin with only a piece of dark glass on it.

"Irradiate now." Dr. Erskine inserted the thick tubes into the back of the sealed compartment as he walked back to the control panel on the other side of the room

Dr. Abraham Erskine walked beside an instrument and began to slowly rotate a disc, and the light came out of the glass head on the sealed compartment.

"Ten percent..... Twenty percent..." Doctor said, looking at the dial of the instrument in front of him, turning the wheel in front of his slowly.

The sealed cabin was full of dazzling rays of light, all of which seemed to have thorns and penetrated William's body.

The light was getting stronger and stronger, William only felt that the body was melting, as if there were billions of needles penetrating, these pains were only part of it, and the interior of the body was changing.

"Fifty percent.... Sixty.... Seventy..."

With the continued output, all street lights and all home lights in the entire Queens area went out, and the power outage was still expanding.

The light revealed on the glass of the sealed cabin had illuminated the entire basement and continued to flash.

The pain suddenly ended as William started feeling warmth in his body, he could feel that there were significant changes to his body but couldn't point them out right now.

He felt as though he was in a warm bathtub with his worries melting away, His body was getting more and more energised by the second.

The surrounding instruments emitted a flurry electric sparks, going beyond the range they were supposed to.

The lights went out as only emergency bulbs remained active on the ceiling as "Iron Maiden" Stopped emitting that enormous plash of light.

The glass shield of the sealed compartment no longer leaked light, all the machines stopped operating and temporarily quieted down.

Dr. Erskine slowly walked towards the capsule, forgetting it was William that was inside.

The only thing in his mind was that if the experiment went successful, this was after all his lifetime research and experiment.

"William, William!!! Are you okay?"

He forgot that William was the one who dragged him here, this was the scientist in him speaking.

Boom!

The door of the sealed compartment flew out, and smashed heavily on the control panel, smashing the instruments and dials on it.

"I'm fine." William said as he slowly walked out of the overflowing steam that covered him.
