God's Ougi

Once the Straw Hat Pirates discovered that the City of Gold was originally the missing half of Jaya, they saw fit to camp out and have a feast to prepare venturing further into the Upper Yard.

Meanwhile; Morgan and Gan Fall separated themselves so they could disclose the full picture about the scrawling that Robin found during her exploration. "So what exactly is this secret of Mantra?" He asked Gan Fall who was currently out of his armour while Chopper tended his wounds and wore a functional yet regal robe.

"The Mantra that God Eneru claims to exist throughout the Sky Islands is an exaggeration, people from these lands have been able to use it to hear voices and from what you have told me; you seem to be able to wield it as effectively…Though you call it "Observation"…"

"Yeah, With it; I am able to see people's movements, their level of strength and what they intend to do just a few seconds before they do it…though it isn't as strong for me." Morgan elaborated; "So it's fair to assume that since some of these people originally came from the Blue Sea over generations ago, they had it too before they spread across this land?"

Gan Fall nodded; "Back when I was considered to be God, a different type of Mantra existed; The kind that used to be wielded by those who crossed the threshold between Man and Gods."

"Gods…You mean as in plural?"

"Yes, Over the years there had been many different Gods to exist but for those who remained devout to the old ways know that one of them besides myself is real: The God of War, The Bringer of Wrath and Battle…The God Asura." Gan Fall explained with a serious look on his face; "Because Asura was a God of such immense power and one with such a firm group of believers, Eneru decried his followers as heretics and made a story claiming that in order to keep Skypeia safe, he forced Asura out of this realm in his greatest act of "Divine Justice" and claimed his place as a Deity…"

"All so he could be seen as a grand protector and stomping out any resistances in the process." Morgan surmised as he re-read the etching that Robin and Nami gave him;

"Those who are deemed to be worthy of harnessing the Wrath of Asura's Mantra must be able to forge their Anger and Wrath into a blade but use their wisdom and compassion to temper that blade into something greater."

"Plenty of our people here have tried to learn this way of fighting; The Shandians and more specifically the Guerillas who try to oppose Eneru do." Gan Fall mentioned as he stroked his beard and pulled another scroll out from his robe that he kept on his person. "The Mad Monk that existed here before his exile…I believe his name was Urouge, claimed that he was the Avatar of Asura himself and tried to learn this Sacred Art, however what these individuals fail to realise is that they only learn half of the lesson: Having the Anger and the Rage to harness this power will strengthen them but exercising the focus and the ironclad will is capable of bringing it to it's full potential….That scroll I gave you has one such technique for you to practice…I can only apologise that it is what I could keep."

"If our journey takes us to where Eneru considers his temple of worship, then that could let us see this treasure room and we could potentially find the other parts for this…couldn't it?" Morgan asked as he analysed the excerpt he was given.

"Indeed, I know a little of this Art since I wanted to try and aid in the fight against Eneru but admittedly I can only utilise the rudimentary levels that was detailed on that scroll…So I shall assist you in getting a hand on this…Get ready!" Gan Fall warned as he got into a peculiar stance and rushed forward towards Morgan.

—Later—

The Straw Hats were just about ready to head out and return to their search for the city of Gold, however there was another group waiting in the wings to make their move.

"You've all gotten lazy…" A man drawled as he bit into an apple while on a throne; "God only accepts those who are willing to go through any ordeal as his prized Soldiers and his priests."

"We…We apologise, God Eneru." A bald man bowed his head while sheathing his sword.

"No matter, you three have my full permissions to engage your Ordeals freely from hereon…With these Shandian Guerillas and this Class 1 band of heretics that have trespassed my land from the Blue Sea, I can't afford to let principles restrain our reign." Eneru remarked as he sat up; "So let them come, Shandian or Blue Sea People…This game of survival shall be fun to take part in."

"God Eneru…I must ask, you see all on this land…Is what they say about this heretic true?" Gedatsu asked though his arms were crossed at the elbows in a vastly different position to the others.

"I have been watching them since they arrived; He makes grand statements such as not being a God but He was truly nothing when he took my "El Thor" without hesitation…Since he was reduced to a charred corpse, I saw no need to keep watching him." Eneru explained as he started laughing.

"Satori…He failed in his Ordeal against the others." Ohm pointed out and then grunted; "Seeing as he was the weakest of us, it is easy to imagine that those that clung to the Heretic could easily best such a greenhorn."

"All the more reason that I opened this game, who will come out on top in all of this for this clump of dirt? The Guerillas who claim this is their home? The Blue Sea Monkeys who think that they have a claim on the City of Gold? Or me, the rightful God of this White White Sea and the Heavens beyond?" Eneru remarked before vanishing in a bright spark.

—Meanwhile—

Morgan and the others were currently staring down a giant snake that was watching them with venom in its eyes and dripping from its fangs; "Split up! That things too big to take on as a group!" Morgan yelled to the others as he stayed focused on the titanic viper.

"You got it! But surely, you're not going to…Fight?" Usopp started to protest but he saw that Morgan wasn't scared or even ready to fight back.

"This technique will act as your basic first step to mastering the True Mantra…The God of War may be one of Wrath and Rage but He is not a violent barbarian, by using this technique; You warn others of what you can do and will act as your deterrent for all but the most wilful of opponents." Gan Fall's words echoed in his head as Morgan began to slowly breath in and out; the markings forming over his slowly expanding body and his hands slowly began to metallise up to his elbows as pseudo-gauntlets.

The Giant Snake Nola reared it's head back to lunge for this lone challenger and was about to go for the bite but something kept it held in place, something that only it and Gan Fall could see.

The others could only see that Morgan was waiting in preparation for the Snake's attack but Gan Fall could see a halo slowly form around the Straw Hat Captain's back, though even for his eyes to see Mantra; It wasn't solid and barely visible. "He has yet to master it, I can see it shimmering like heat waves but it is a strong one nonetheless for a first time use in a battle.."

"Let us pass….I will warn you once." Morgan said grimly to the Snake who similarly could see the Halo forming behind the Captain.

However whether it was desperation or out of anger; the Snake pounced forward with it's jaws open ready to strike and hissed violently.

"MORGAN, MOVE!" Nami yelled out as she was worried that Morgan had lost it and was paralysed with either fear or venom.

With one last exhale and a curl of his fingers into a fist; "ATA!" Morgan yelled out as he released a powerful jab towards its snout, he along with everyone else that had stuck around saw the Snake's nose ripple before its head could even get within biting distance of Morgan.

"What…The…" Zoro and the others mused as they essentially watched the giant snake flinch backwards and start thrashing when Morgan punched air.

Gan Fall watched as the keen eye that came with being Former God noticed something else: A blue flame that was the size of Morgan's fist emanated from the ripple's centre point at the base of it's nose; "That's it…That sapphire flame burning like a beacon….Its the very same Mantra which threatened Eneru's Law….It's relatively weak now but thanks to it: I lack my reason to doubt, this boy has the potential to genuinely master the Asura no Ken…"

With it's snout now burning with pain and it's supposed dinner not being as easy as expected; It began to manically thrash about and inadvertently knock the trees over; "Everyone! Split up and run! This thing's dangerous so we'll meet up later!" Morgan yelled as he rushed off with the others heading in different directions.

Though many of them had split off into the wrong directions with Robin being the one still on the right path, plenty of them had their battles to fight such as Chopper running into Gedatsu and Zoro encountering the Shandian Warrior Braham.

Nami meanwhile was paralysed with fear as Eneru revealed himself on the Going Merry to talk with Gan Fall along with introductions of Hotori and Kotori, the brothers of Morgan's fallen enemy Satori. The sheer presence of Eneru plus his effortless swatting of Usopp and Sanji left Nami eager to protect them though some hope in her had begged for Morgan to find her and fast before she too ends up the same way.

With a smirk that spoke of entitlement and of grandiose desires; Eneru stood up from his perch on Merry's head; "You should rejoice, Blue Sea Woman…Not many can be chosen by God directly for his tributes…And even fewer will be welcomed along with me to my destiny to the Fairy Vearth!" Eneru laughed as he inched towards her and got two goat Priests to take her away to the Shrine at the beanstalk, awaiting the winners of his "Survival Game"

—Meanwhile—

Morgan heard the crackle of thunder in the distance and recognised it as what killed him; When he heard it coming from Merry, he began sprinting and putting his Observation on as high as he could to try and see what happened. "The only ones there would be Nami and probably the old guy since he's recovering….Please be okay…." He thought to himself as he jumped from tree to tree before getting intercepted by the Shandian warrior Wyper when he shot his bazooka. "You're one of those Guerillas….Move it, I have something important to go after." He warned Wyper as he got into a defensive stance.

"A Blue Sea Dweller demands such of me…Since you've come to Skypeia, The Priests and Eneru himself have become more aggravated than a hornet's nest…They call you a Heretic…A Follower of the God Asura." Wyper grimaced as he stared down Morgan and found him underwhelming from first impressions.

"It's not the first time that someone's called me that, but I'm not looking to fight….Just let me pass…Your fight is with Eneru, isn't it?" Morgan asked as he then saw Wyper aiming his Burn Bazooka at him.

"You are in my way and who knows what you plan here on Skypeia…But know this, Follower…I too have studied Asura no Ken as my right as the Warrior's Descendant and I will prove that a Shandian can surpass you." Wyper then hopped down to meet Morgan face to face. He then got into a stance and clenched his fists.

"I warned you…." Morgan simply put as he raised his fists; the two collided with each other as quick punches and kicks met each other like mirrors, the only difference between the two was that Morgan had deliberately kept to Martial Art rather then the Mantra since he just wanted a way past.

"Asura no Ken: Hyakuretsu Ken!" Wyper yelled out as he started to volley punch after punch against Morgan who noticed in enough time to mirror his move with a counter.

"Asura no Ken: RAKAN GEKI!" Morgan yelled out as he used rapid fire palm strikes to dispel Wyper's quick punches before he blocked under the last punch and drove his palm into Wyper's stomach to knock him back.

"Hh…Impressive…You aped the style well but it is no match for this." Wyper then aimed his bazooka towards Morgan and readied it with a Breath Dial to amplify it.

Morgan growled as he then ducked under the concentrated burst of fire from the gun and rose upward with a flying attack; "TIGER KNEE!" He smirked as he caught Wyper in the chest and as he fell backwards, Morgan took his chance to sprint off with the momentum.

"I WILL FIND YOU! AND YOU WILL REGRET NOT BACKING DOWN!" Wyper yelled at him before racing on towards the Shrine.

Morgan grit his teeth as he picked up speed but he noticed that the bolt of lightning that landed on where Merry would have been had now forked outwards towards a giant beanstalk nearby.

—A few minutes prior on The Merry—

"Yaaahahahahaha, Honestly Gan Fall, what do you expect to do like this? You know that you can never win in the face of a True God…" Eneru sneered as he had Nami in a tight grip on her arm.

"Because I know that if you steal this person from her friends, you will bring down the full wrath of that boy on you and you alone." Gan Fall warned; He didn't need the world's strongest Mantra to see that Morgan would literally part the sea just to get his friends back together.

"The Heretic? Please…As if someone claiming to possess the power of a dead and forgotten God could ever hope to stand against me….In fact….How about you tell him this, "Meet me at the Abandoned Asura Temple near the Beanstalk" …If he truly believes he is a god than it falls to me, the highest authority! To dole out his judgement myself!" Eneru taunted him as he had several soldiers take Nami on their Milky Dials and Eneru blipped away laughing.

—In the Temple of Asura—

"Let me go…Why are you doing this? Morgan isn't a God and he never claims to be one!" Nami yelled at Eneru as she was tied to a ceremonial pole atop an altar with several soldiers guarding her.

The Temple of Asura was a giant Stone arena that fit the God of War and surrounding it were several broken down statues; some out of disrepair and some were being destroyed as part of Eneru's waiting. "It is quite simple, even if I were to ignore him…I cannot allow anyone to be called a God while I still sit upon this realm, this world only needs one God and I intend to stay that way!" Eneru sneered as he shot a lightning bolt at another statue to watch it melt. "Plus I had a really fun time with casting out anyone who still considered Asura to be real…He isn't and anyone who claims he is will be dealt with!"

Nami was about to mention something but a rumble was heard as the stone doors to the temple were opened and Morgan was walking in; "Morgan! This guy one everyone was talking about! Be careful with him, he has powers that are more dangerous than Crocodile's!" She yelled out to warn him but one of the soldiers gagged her.

"Welcome, Heretic! It is about time we finally met face to face, rejoice as you gaze upon the face of G-"

"Let Nami go…Or I will break that ring around your back and use it as a hula hoop!" Morgan warned as he stepped onto the arena where the flames suddenly lit up. Slowly cracking his knuckles as the 20 Soldiers each jumped onto the arena with a chorus of "Meeeeehs"

"How arrogant of you to assume that you could even lay a hand on God….You must be a follower of Asura if you are this delusional." Eneru cackled as he sat with Nami and kept his hand under her chin to keep her watching; "Here's a challenge for you, Heretic! Fight your way through the army of Soldiers under my command and if you succeed, then I shall humour you with some time to play." He smirked while Nami kept trying to pull away or bite him, "I wouldn't if I were you, if you try to attack me as you are…I will turn you into Char…." Eneru threatened her.

"Fine…Come at me!" Morgan grunted as he brought his fists out in a stance, watching as the goat men charged on Milky Dials from both the arena ground and from the air.

"FOR GOD ENERU!" The battle cry rang out as they each had Axe dials in their gloves or clutched weapons like swords or spears.

Morgan rushed forward with deliberate and focused strikes such as a kick to the head or a combo of punches to the torso and even grappling an opponent; "Give me Nami back!" He yelled as he delivered a spinning axe kick down on a Priest, his markings slowly forming on his body as his anger rose.

"While we breathe and stand, you shall not pass!" One such priest taunted as he thrust a spear at Morgan's head but found it blocked and even thrown by Morgan with him still attached.

"I must admit, he is fairly strong for a mortal…Too bad I intend to use him as a sacrifice too." Eneru mentioned as he watched Morgan's fighting keep the Priests back.

Morgan readied his fists back; "Asura no Ken: Dangan no Ken!" He yelled out as he thrust a powerful fist forward and watched a Soldier get knocked off of his feet from a metre away.

However the constant fighting and his worrying for Nami had his focus speckled but then gasped as he felt something pierce his back.

A spear lodged itself into Morgan by the Soldier he threw; "Vengeance will be mine!" The Soldier yelled as more Soldiers began coming in through the front doors and adding to Morgan's already extensive opponent list.

"Y-You backstabber! You never intended to fight him!" Nami berated him once she saw the foul play that Eneru "overlooked" in Morgan's challenge.

"I merely said for him to defeat my Soldiers, I never said he had to fight a specific amount." Eneru sneered before breaking into loud laughter.

With an angry growl, Morgan spun on his heels with his arms outstretched and made a mini tornado as he caught a bunch of the soldiers in a a spinning clothesline. "OUT OF MY WAY!" He yelled out as he thrust his fist into another Soldier's face but yelled out in pain as an Axe Dial's hit caught him in the side.

"He's slowing down…Keep attacking!" The roars rang out but they still struggled as Morgan fought as hard as he could with dozens of quick strikes and even landing a powerful double fisted strike on a larger soldier.

"Asura no Ken: Soryu Ha!" Morgan yelled out as the Soldier was sent flying into a wall; His body starting to ache from fighting Wyper and the unfamiliar fighting style that was Asura no Ken, his six arms now in full display once his drive to carry on pushed him further. "Come on! I'll take you all on!" He yelled out as he was still standing after his body further dripped with blood as spears pierced his back more.

"Take him out…He's too weak to stand!" The Unharmed Soldier sneered as he noticed Morgan staggering about but received a powerful kick to prove him wrong.

"Fight…I will fight, until I get her back!" Morgan resolved himself but then felt himself getting pinned to the ground as a lightning bolt struck down from above and knocked him to the floor.

"Yahahaa! Divine judgement deems him unworthy to win!" Eneru taunted him as he held up his finger; "That fighting style…Those Arms, I cannot allow him to walk away from here while breathing…I suppose even a God must fight dirty sometimes."

Nami watched in horror as Morgan lay on the ground as the Soldiers gripped onto his arms to pin him and the spears pulled out of him to get them back in his enemy's hands.

"Heretic of the Blue Sea, you have trespassed on God's land, attacked his emissaries and besmirch the purity of this place with your six arms and forbidden Martial Art…I, God Eneru shall judge you as unworthy of being alive and shall sentence this young lady to be sacrificed…Before you suffer the same fate." Eneru announced with a smirk as he used his powers to turn his golden staff into a trident.

"N…No…Stop it…." Morgan croaked as he tried to get to his feet but was forced back down again.

"MORGAN! FIGHT THEM! YOU CAN'T GIVE UP YET!" Nami yelled to try and urge him on and struggled hard to remain defiant while the trident's prongs were held before her.

"Don't bother, that man is lucky to remain alive after his attacks and being brought so low…But it won't be for long." Eneru sneered as he gripped the trident with both hands; "May this Sky Island be blessed with the blood of this unworthy Land Maiden!"

Nami screamed out as she accepted her fate of being skewered but this also had a different effect as it echoed through the temple.

Morgan felt his ears ring and his anger grow as despite his injuries and the numerous soldiers holding him down; He started pushing himself up and faced Eneru with the more anger on his face and he reared his head back to issue his last demand.

"DAMN IT, I SAID STOP IT!" Morgan screamed out even louder as a powerful blast of energy erupted from him as everyone felt a sudden pulse hit them from his immediate vicinity to the top of the altar where Nami and Eneru were.

There was a hushed silence for a brief moment and then suddenly; the Soldiers that were mobbing the Straw Hat Captain had started foaming at the mouth and then collapsing onto the ground, it became a wave of soldiers that collapsed both in and outside of the temple doors. The only ones still conscious at this point were Eneru, Morgan and Nami who was barely keeping awake.

Eneru eyed the now standing pirate captain with a look of both horror and rage as he had wiped out nearly all of the soldiers present; "That….That Mantra…What was that….What was that!" He quickly let go of Nami and stomped down towards Morgan who was on one knee but did his best to stay conscious. "What was that technique?! What kind of Mantra of Heresy do you possess that you would wipe out everyone here?!" Eneru yelled as he gripped Morgan by the throat as he was absolutely not going to let this enemy get away.

"What are you…talking about?" Morgan asked with a hoarse whisper as he himself was not aware of the kind of wave that he released.

"That Blast of Mantra! You decimated my soldiers and you barely even landed a hit on them to do it! Answer me, you heretic!" Eneru furiously yelled and gripped tighter.

Morgan chuckled; "Ki…Kiss my ass…" He would snark before Eneru harshly dropped him.

"Perhaps sacrificing this woman here is too light of a punishment, take her to the Shrine….I will take her with me for a more proper Judgement." Eneru ordered some barely coherent soldiers who took her and flew off on Milky Dials; "Rest assured, Heretic…No…Shadow of Asura…You posed one of the closest chances of being a threat to me…But I think an unceremonious end for you here fits better, you will be forgotten and you will be regretting your stand against me soon enough." Eneru remarked before vanishing up into the clouds and leaving Morgan to bleed out.
