Loki

Loki was not a man of many words but his actions spoke loud and proud.

Once we left my fathers office, there was nothing more that I wanted to do except for sleep. My eyes had probably been dark and my skin had probably been drained of blood making me look ashen. Like the dead. I assumed.

Loki just watched me without shame or reservation. He watched my every move.

Though despite what I wanted, I needed to study. Three days was nothing and the names on the list looked longer than it had when I had first seen it.

Loki and I entered my room without speaking a single word to the other. Then we both sat at a little sofa which was located almost in the middle of the room. There was also a table there and that was where I spread of the papers. I looked over the names, glancing, hoping to find the names of someone I remembered from the game I had played back in the other world.

During this time, Loki had risen from his spot by my side and he had begun to walk around. Pacing, as if looking for someone hiding in the room. When he had finally stopped, Loki was starring out of the window.

From the corner of my eyes, I saw this and so, I turned to him. Watching him stare aimlessly for a moment.

From my bedroom window, there was barely anything outside. Truly, it looked over the entrance of the house. We lived atop a hill of sorts so we could gaze towards the city. It was filled with brown, beige and colours of that persuasion. It was truly a boring sight. But Loki's eyes were fierce and concentrated.

I opened my mouth for a second, wanting to speak out but no words came out. I wanted to ask him to come back to reality, to my side but then, I paused.

What had happened with Loki in the game...

As a player, I was immersed in the plot of the game. Obsessed with the main characters and accomplishing their tasks. Lucky princess was not just a chose your own path otome game after all, but it was also a game of magic, mystery and death.

It took me 16 hours to complete the game once by just doing what I needed to do but with the side quests it had taken me a lot longer.

The game spanned 6 years of the protagonist, Ellie's, life. Give or take a few scenes from her childhood.

The illegitimate eldest daughter of Duke Ashington and future queen of Kenelm...

In the beginning, Ellie was, like in every story of the sort, a diamond in the rough. Kind and beautiful but naive. Though of course she was a quick learning.

She was everything I, Cecilia Ashington, wasn't. And so she got everything that belonged to Cecilia after the characters death in the game.

I grit my teeth.

I loved playing Lucky Princess. I had spend many days after school playing with a borrowed game, at a friends house. I loved Ellie. I wanted to be her. In real life. Someone who was able to get everything she wanted because the situations just seemed to align!

But only now did I realize how cruel this all was.

In this world, just like the last, I was to be done away like scraps....

Used but never remembered. Thrown away and forgotten by my father and brother who accepted Ellie with open arms.

The only one who had taken my death hard was Shahira who had then left Kenelm to return to Anwar.

Thinking of this, a memory drifted into my mind.

Ahhh this chapter was a bit short but then next one is way longer. What do you guys think of the story so far? How do you think it could be better or what are you hoping to happen?
