Misfortunate Princess

When a poor teenage girl dies in a house fire, she is transmigrated to the world of the game, Lucky Princess, into the body of a minor character, Cecilia Ashington, the daughter of a Duke. This, at first, seems like a godsend, until she realizes that Cecilia Ashington’s death was the inciting incident of the game. “I’m 16 right now, and I die at 19 while trying to protect the protagonist, Ellie…” I whispered as I tried to recount the entirety of the game. I suddenly, felt my throat dry, “How do I make sure I don’t die?!” Suddenly, Loki, my personal guard, entered the room. He had knocked but I had been too deep in thought to notice. I looked at him with wide eyes. Not exactly meaning to. Loki came towards me, and then he bent down on one knee. “You will not die on my watch, my lady. I will protect you with my life.” I smiled bitterly remembering the instance where Cecilia Ashington/I died in the game. “That’s a sweet sentiment, but you need to back it up!”
