ACES (CH 4)

"WHERE ARE WE GOING?"

Finally, weekend has arrived. After a long, tiring, exhausting week, do you know what do you need? An amazing weekend. Full of excitement and 'adventure' as Char likes to say. Oh yes, I cannot believe Char, Alex and I are friends now. Who knew that under a cool hearted person is actually a softie inside? But I am happy that we work things out. It feels like the three of us are meant to be with each other. That day at the coffee shop where we had our talk, it really changed things.

And now me and Alex are waiting for Char to join us to go to the 'planned trip' that he prepared. And honestly, I don't know where it is or how will we go?

"Seriously! This guy takes so much time to get ready. Should we call him? Again?" Alex said.

"Hell no. He told us last night to meet him exactly at 8 am and now he is the one who is 15 minutes late. Is he ditching us?" I asked to Alex.

"I don't know. If he is then do you have another plan?"

"Man, I was so busy this week that I didn't thought about this situation"

"Me too. So, what shall we do?"

"Let's go and kick his ass"

"Kick whose ass?" The late comer finally came.

"What the hell? I thought you ditched us" Alex said to Char. He laughed and said "I would never do that and Ember would definitely kick my ass".

"You are damn right hon. And one more thing you can call me Em"

"Okay Em, Alex are you two ready?"

"Yes" both of us said at the same time.

"So where are we going?" Alex asked to Char.

"Well, our ride should be here in any minute" he said and looked at his watch to see the time. A car hooked and stop in front of us. I looked towards Char waiting for him to explain why there is a car and why it stopped near us?

"We are talking a tour of NYC. But not in a bus which are often very crowded but in a car that I rented for the day" he explained to us. One thing that Alex and I said together after he was finished was "How much did it cost?".

Alex and I had a budget and Char maybe crossed that. Obviously, we didn't told Char about it because we thought whatever he planned, it had to do with one of the places that we planned to go. But this was unexpected.

"I know about your budget and I also know what two of you are going to say. Well, I guessed it actually but the point is I already spent so much money with those so-called friends of mine and became a cold-hearted person and forget who I truly was. But now after meeting you guys, I know what true friends are and I am lucky that I found you two.

Damn I can't believe I just said that. Both of you are a bad influence on me." Char joked at the last sentence. I am getting emotional. Char is changing a lot; he is turning into a new leaf. Alex and I hugged him. I pulled away first and said "I don't know what to say. I am speechless", "Me too" Alex agreed with me. Alex turns to me and whisper something to my ear which I agree and nod her a yes.

"As you have paid for the tour, me and Em will take care of the food and if you choose something to buy, we will do that for you too" Alex said to Char.

"That's really sweet of you guys but you don't have to do that"

"Of course, we do after what you have done for us it's just a small good gesture towards you" I said.

"Em is right. Like it or not we are doing this"

"Okay, okay but you don't have to pay for the things for me. You guys can pay for the food" Char said, "Man this might be the lamest thing I have ever said"

"I hardly doubt that. Now are we going or not?" I spoke

"Hell yeah lets go" Char said.

Char sat on the passenger's seat, Alex and I sat on the back seat. And then our tour started.

What a day! That's it. It's the only thing I can say about today. I never had so much fun. A day with two of my besties is something I cannot explain in words. I didn't have friends at school. The once that I hang out with, they only did that because they feel bad about me or maybe feel guilty because thought that the rumours were true.

But this is not about the old times, it is a story for another day. When I first became friend with Alex I somehow knew that our friendship will be strong and then Char came along and the duo became trio. And yes, Char is my best friend too now.

Actually, it's really nice to handout with him. He is a fun guy. During the tour he took really good care of me and Alex. We took pictures, souvenirs and ate very delicious food. But sadly, the tour came to end and now we are back on the way to the campus. All of us were really tired, Alex falls asleep on my shoulder, I was feeling sleepy too.

Char looked at me and said "Why don't you close your eyes for a bit. I will wake you up once we reach". "Okay thank you" I said and closed my eyes.

A few minutes later Char woke me and Alex up as we reach the campus. We got out, took our bags and shopping bags from the trunk. We thank the driver and headed to our dorms.

"I guess I will see you guys tomorrow" Alex said and yawn.

"Definitely I have a plan for tomorrow. I will text you guys the details later" I said.

"Alright. I can't believe I am saying this and this might be the lamest thing I ever said again but I really had fun today" Char said.

"I highly doubt that again that this is the lamest thing you ever said but we had fun too" I said and smile at him.

"Yeah, you are a fun guy to hang out with and you are not so much of a hot head" Alex said.

"That's really sweet"

"Alright I going to head back to my dorm. See you guys"

They said bye too and went towards there dorms. The first thing I did after I reach my room was, I plug my phone to the charger because my phone was about to die and then I took a long shower and I wash my hair too. After I was done, I wore a blue short and a white t shirt and organise the thing that I brought today. I know I am tired but I like to organise things.

I don't want a messy room. When I saw done, I lay on bed and took my phone from the bed table. Good thing is that I have a long USB cable, I open my phone and saw a new group chat added me. I click on it and saw the name 'TRIO'. Alex created the group and added me and Char. She left a message "Guys send the pictures and video from the tour. I am sending those I have'.

I smile and send the videos and pictures and sent a message 'A group chat, nice idea Alex'. She said thanks. I was looking at the pictures that she sent, then a notification pop up saying Char send a message in the group. 'Here you go. The potos and vdos. Hermano'.

I smile and replied 'Really! Hablas espanol?'. 'Noh, I don't'. I send a poker face emoji and started looking at the pictures and videos again. We really took some good photos. As I was looking at the videos, one of them caught my eye. I didn't take it, neither did Alex. Char sent in the group. It was a short video, not more then thirty seconds.

We were in the car. We just had our lunch and we were really hyped and very excited. I connect my phone to the Bluetooth in the car and played the song Slow Down by Why Don't We. The song was blasting through the speakers and all of us were singing our hearts out, we almost forget that we were not alone, a driver was with us whose name was Bob but he too was tapping his fingers on the steering wheel with the rhythm. He didn't sing because he has to be professional with us. Char flips the camera to the front and oh my god if you could only see our faces

The video ended and I immediately open our group and press the video chat button. Both of them receive after two rings.

E- "Let me guess, you saw the video"

C- "Char, my god I didn't even realise that you were recording"

A- "Me too. But it's a nice one though. Em you really have a nice voice"

E- "Thanks Alex. You too"

C- "Are you guys done complimenting each other?"

A- "I almost forget you are still here"

E- "Relax hot head. And thank you for taking the video"

A- "Yeah thanks Char"

C- "Your most welcome ladies"

We laugh. I put the phone on the side table and started talking with them.

A- "Did you told Char about your idea to open a YT channel?"

E- "No, but I really think we can do that on YT or----"

C- "Instagram"

Char completed my sentence.

E- "Yeah exactly"

A- "That sounds great you guys"

E- "See I am a genius"

C- "Oh please, I am the genius one"

A- "Ladies, ladies you both are pretty. Now stop"

Alex on the rescue. Three of us laugh at Alex comment. As we were talking, I started to feel sleepy but just before I close my eyes, I notice Char and Alex also started to fall asleep. I smiled and close my eyes completely. Still on the call with each other and fall asleep talking. What an amazing day it was! With two of my favourite people.
