Chapter 31 - Promise Rings

Sora got on the stage with Midnight, with a mic with an ear pierce and a guitar that's connected to a speaker on stage as Mic announced the game, Scavenger Hunt, Sora started performing

"Can you hear my heartbeat?

I'm tired of feeling I'm never enough

I close my eyes and tell myself that my dreams will come true~!"

Everyone ran to get their cards as they looked around to get their items, They feel even more determined thanks to Sora's performance

"There'll be no more darkness!

When you believe in yourself you're unstoppable

Dancing on your blades

Sora stopped playing as he pointed at Midoriya and winked at him as He continued playing, dancing around on stage as he continued

Sora signalled for Jiro to come over and pointed at a guitar as Jiro ran and took the guitar, They started playing as Sora continued to sing

Sora sees everyone was paying attention to him as the games continued, everyone having a bit of a hard time to get their items

Sora finished singing and took the guitar off as he sees Midoriya walk on stage and take his hand and bring him to Midnight, Midoriya gave the card to Midnight as he hugged Sora as Midnight saw the card and said "Izuku Midoriya's card was 'Something Cute' and brought Sora Higurashi, Izuku Midoriya wins first prize!"

Sora blushed as he nervously laughed then patted Midoriya's head, He took his phone out and messaged Midoriya's Mom, Inko, telling her that he'd be coming over later with the news she already knew since she was watching the entire thing at home, on the TV, Sora puts his phone away and picked Midoriya, carrying him back to the changing room as Mic continued the games

Sora closed and locked the door since he has the key since he's the class representative, Sora puts Midoriya on his feet and quickly changed back to his gym clothes as Midoriya started functioning again as He was about to speak but Sora sat down on one of the benches and pulled Midoriya to his lap"S- S- Sora-kun?! W- Wh- What are you doing?!"

Sora smiled and kissed his cheek "Shh.. Someone might hear us.." Sora wrapped his arms around Midoriya's waist, hugging him ".. I'm tired.. I really.. need a break right now.. Just.. stay still.. I need to recharge my mental and social batteries.."

Midoriya was confused but then remembers that Sora has been running around, doing things as class representative and participant during the festival, he realized that he hasn't been helping Sora as his deputy at all, Midoriya hugged him back tightly, feeling guilty as they stayed for a few minutes, making small talk every few minutes to make sure the other didn't fall asleep by accident as Sora smiled and kissed Midoriya's forehead

"I'm better now, Thanks Izuku" Sora smiled like normal but Midoriya nervously kissed his forehead, then his cheek, then his lips as Midoriya hugged Sora, wrapping his arms around Sora's neck

"Something wrong, Izuku?"

".. I'm sorry.. I haven't been a good deputy.." Midoriya said as Sora sighed "You know I can handle the responsibilities as class rep by myself, You don't have to be sorry for anything"

"..but.. I want to help.. everyone trusted me yet I haven't been doing anything.. You handled and aced the entrance exam and the assessment test, you defeated me and Uraraka-san during the battle trial and managed to figure out how to help us with our quirk training, you managed to calm everyone down when the school was broken into by the reporters, you managed to figure out that the villains had no information on us during the USJ incident and defeat the mastermind behind the incident.. I haven't done anything that can be half as note worthy as you.. yet you stay with me and love me.."

"That's exactly why I stay with you" Sora said with a smile as Midoriya looked at him "Sure it's my dream to make music and be a hero but.. I don't think I really see that as my only dream anymore"

Sora kissed Midoriya's forehead as he continued "I have a new dream and it's to protect this adorable boy right here, I stay with you because I want to, I love you because I want to, I dream because I want to, if I don't like something then I won't notice it, If I don't like someone then I'll treat them like a normal person, It might be confusing so I'll simplify it, I'm the type of person who'll do what they want as long as it makes them happy and if that happiness means being a tired class representative just to make sure there's no work for my adorable deputy to do then I'm more than happy to accept it as my fate after all.."

Sora pulled Midoriya closer to him, using his hand to caress his cheek "I plan on making you a Higurashi someday" Midoriya blushed as he said loudly "Are you proposing to me?!"

"If that means you'll be my Izuku Higurashi then yes, I am" Sora said in a very serious tone as Midoriya blushed more hiding his face on Sora's neck, thinking it wouldn't be bad to become Mr and Mr Higurashi

"Also I brought us something" Sora said as Midoriya looked, seeing Sora pull out a back box "W- Wait- A- Are you actually-?! S- Sora-kun- we- we can't just yet! We- We're only teens and- and-" Midoriya was panicking, thinking Sora planned to propose to him all this time as Sora pinched Midoriya's cheek "Your overthinking again Izuku, This isn't what you think it is" Sora opened the box and showed a sun and moon necklace that had their initials on them, as well as golden rings attached with the necklaces

"To My Izuku, My shining sun" Sora said as he puts the sun necklace around Midoriya's neck as Midoriya looked at it, seeing that the rung had engravings on it that said 'My Spectacular Sun, Izuku Midoriya'

Sora puts on his moon necklace as Midoriya took a look at the engraving on the ring and read it 'His Magnificent Moon, Sora Higurashi'

Midoriya was silent as Sora looked at him and saw tears in his eyes as he cried "..Why do you have to be so sweet?! I don't have anything just as sweet as this.. I wanna give you something too!!" Midoriya continued to cry at how much the gift meant to him as Sora gently patted his head, saying he can give something to him some other time "Try not to take them off, Their promise rings after all, If you do then I'll take that as a sign that you don't want to be my Izuku anymore.."

Midoriya promised that he'd never take it off and will do his best to take care of it as they both got up and left, going back to the event as they hear that the recreational games were over
