Chapter 27

TITLE: Sports festival (End) – Hero Names

With the festival over, the students began heading home, those whose parents didn't attend, walked home together with friends while those with parents present waited for their family before heading together with them.

Sora was together with this group after he had freshened up, he headed to the parking lot to meet his parents but he was stopped on the way by Hana who tried assaulting him with a hug but she failed as he immediately evaded her.

"Why are you so mean!?"

"Am not mean! I just don't want to have Corona!"

"Huh… what's that again?"

Sora didn't bother explaining it to her as he began walking away and Hana immediately followed behind, a wide smile present on her face.

As they kept walking, Sora was getting pissed. She was just walking next to him, smiling but not saying shit, like Wtf!? Having had enough, he asked

"What do you want?"

"Oh you finally broke, just wanted to say congratulations on your win, you did great"

"Oh thanks, you also tried"

"Yeah but Izuku quirk is too op" Hana pouted

"You haven't seen shit"

Sora sneered, Izuku hasn't even begun using all his quirks, what will you say when he begins?

"What do you mean?"

"Nothing, don't mind me"

"So-chan!"

Immediately, Sora froze. He didn't want to believe the voice he heard but when he turned his head in the direction of the voice, he knew that it was no dream, this was reality and he was fucked.

Standing by the car was Shiro and Aiko Menhera, both had a smile on their face but Shiro's smile looked creepy rather than welcoming.

'Fuck' Sora cursed, his look filled with dread as he took a couple of steps back.

Hana didn't understand what was happening but her being the well-mannered girl she was, she headed to them and greeted saying:

"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Menhera, my name is Hana Nakamura, it's a pleasure to meet you"

"~Ara ara, such a well-mannered girl. No need to be so formal dear, I'm Sora's mom, Aiko Menhera and this is his dad Shi-"

But she didn't get a chance to finish as Shiro appeared before her and took hold of Hana's hand as he introduced himself

"Shiro Menhera, please take care of my son"

Hana didn't understand what he said but when she noticed Sora's pissed off look, she was somehow able to connect the dots as she said

"I'll try my best"

Both gave a knowing smile which finally freed Sora from his daze, as he rushed towards them and separated both, he felt like if he left the two to stay together for a while longer, it'll mean his death. Shiro's smile never faded even when Sora had taken him away, Sora seeing this sighed as he began trying to bring him back to earth.

Aiko smiled seeing this, she felt immense joy. Usually, Sora always seemed cold and distant, always immersing himself in games or something, she thought he was trying to escape reality but since entering U.A, he had changed, he began speaking more, smiling more, he had almost become a different person and she felt happy about it, her son was growing up.

She turned her head to Hana and said "so Hana, you like my son right?"

Hana hearing this blushed slightly, as she averted Aiko's gaze, and almost in a whisper she said "yes…"

Aiko hearing this smiled gently and said "I hope you'll always try your best and never give up"

"Yes of course ma'am"

"Thank you"

"Huh!?" Hana was surprised hearing this, why was she being thanked

Aiko noticing her surprised look, chuckled as she said "it's nothing, I'm just happy he has someone like you"

"Oh…"

Hana blushed further upon hearing this, which only caused Aiko to chuckle harder.

Sora noticed this and smiled faintly, he was glad his mother was happy but his happiness got replaced with annoyance as he heard his father's voice

"So you finally got a wife, that's my son! I thought you'll never get one but it seems I underestimated you, forgive this old man. So how did you get a killer of a girl, even I was unable to get one-"

But he soon turned quiet as he felt a killing gaze on him, turning his head, his eyes met with that of Aiko, a smile present on her face. It will be a simple smile to any passerby, but he knew that that was the devil's smile. Immediately, he rushed into his car after saying to Hana "please take care of my son!"

Aiko seeing this, turned to Sora and said "let's head home"

Sora immediately nodded before turning to Hana as he said "don't mind my parents, they're a weird bunch"

"Yeah you too"

"Sure" Sora was being sarcastic but a small smile adorned his face as he said "cya tomorrow"

Hana was able to see the smile on his face and her heartbeat slightly increased but she was able to control herself as she also smiled at him and said "cya"

With that, Sora entered the car and together with his parents, headed home. That night at the Menhera house, there was a party to celebrate Sora's victory.

The following day, class 1A was in a jolly mood even if many had failed, they still enjoyed the festival and many had found a way to stand out, Sora was showered with congratulations left and right as almost everyone came to him.

Soon, Aizawa stepped into the class and immediately the class grew silent.

"Okay, firstly I'll like to congratulate you guys on your performance at the sports festival, the feedbacks are here and your internships will begin shortly. Now the feedbacks"

Immediately, the board transformed into a screen as names and figures began appearing:

Sora Menhera 5460

Shoto Todoroki 3238

Izuku Midoriya 1986

And so on

"These values represent the number of heroes wishing for you to join them for their internship, people like Menhera has almost all the heroes in Japan and even out of Japan asking him to join them."

Hearing this, everyone's gaze shifted to Sora, he had a whopping 5000+ heroes asking him to join them, like Wtf!?

"Anyway, during internships, you'll be partly entering into hero work so it's about time you decided your hero name"

Immediately, the door opened and Midnight, Cementos, and Ectoplasm walked into the class.

"Your hero name defines who you are so you should choose wisely" Midnight said

"This name will follow you throughout your hero career so better take your time and decide" Cementos added

"Your hero name shows to the world who you are so take a name that will make the world know you well" Ectoplasm concluded

Hearing this, the students grew excited, the hero names were one of the coolest parts of being a hero together with the costume, that each began giving their names, with some being refused and others easily accepted.

Sora was in a slight dilemma, he had many choices in his head but after much thinking, he had made his choice.

His turn arrived and he walked to the front as he said, "the wind hero: Tempest"

There was a silence in the hall before Midnight "very classic and original name, I like it"

He walked back to his seat and immediately, Hana stepped forward and looked at the class before saying "Zero two"

Hearing this, Sora felt like he had heard it before but he couldn't put his hand on it and after some time, he asked himself

"Why do I feel like I've heard this name before?"

He soon discarded this thought as he watched various people choose their names.

Moments later, everyone had chosen a name, some like Bakugo didn't have one as he lacked a naming sense.

"Okay now that almost everyone has gotten a name, let's move on to the internships. The process is simple, amongst the list of people wishing to intern you, choose one and send the choice to me. With that, the administration will send the letter to the hero, in question and you can begin with your internship."

"That's all for today, class adjourned"

With those words, Aizawa left the class leaving the students with much to think of. Sora also was facing this problem as he looked at the number to his name and asked "who am I going to choose?"
