MHA Paragon

Hello boys and girls it’s your favorite eternally bored prince of hell and I hope you guys are ready because I’ve whipped up one hell of a show. For those of you who are new around here allow me to introduce myself, my name is Lucifer Morningstar and in my spare time I like to reincarnate mortals into worlds of fiction. The masterpiece you will be reading is called MHA Paragon, where I take my own personal spin on the world of My Hero Academia. In Paragon, humans aren’t the only beings capable of awakening their quirks. Animals have as well, warping them into monstrous forms called Dread Beasts and completely flipping the food chain. Humanity lost their foothold over the earth and has been pushed back into heavily fortified cities called bastions. Now it’s up to the heroes you know and love to repel the Dread Beast invasion from completely wiping humanity out. But that’s not all, in this universe quirks are constantly evolving granting their users tremendous levels of power. So if this sounds appealing please join in and watch as our MC Kenji Aotoma a reincarnated mortal comes to grasp with his new reality after a lifetime to solitude and loneliness. Tetsutetsu's chest was heaving as he buried his fist into a carapace for what felt like the thousandth time. His metallic coating was covered in countless scratches and dents that would be a pain to deal with once his quirk deactivated. All while acid clung to his skin trying to eat through his quick and weighing him down. For not the first time since the beginning of the fight Tetsutetsu thanked the gods that Kenji had appeared otherwise he would have been overwhelmed long ago. Thinking of his classmate, Tetsutetsu took a brief moment to glance over to see how he was holding up only to freeze at what he saw.

Like a lone mountain Kenji stood, his face obscured by a heavy hood and barely moving. For a moment Tetsutetsu thought the man had died on his fist. But then Tetsutetsu saw Kenji's chain still weaving through the air, occasionally dragging back any ants who lost interest in him and tried to attack Tetsutetsu.

Acid and mandibles rained down on Kenji but he didn't flinch, and Tetsutetsu watched as the mysterious oily robe draped across Kenji's body rippled like a pond softening the otherwise deadly blows.

'Don't worry about me, I can take the heat! I need you to focus on killing these things, I'll keep them pinned down!' Kenji's words echoed in Tetsutetsu's mind and he could help but look around at the corpses strewn around the floor.

How many had he killed, ten, twenty? The number didn't matter, it wasn't good enough. Kenji had trusted Tetsutetsu to do his part, sacrificing his body to keep the ant's off him. But Tetsutetsu was lagging, he was slowing down all while Kenji continued to stand tall and keep the heat off him. Tetsutetsu had tried to do the same for Asui and Momo, but failed miserably.

Tetsutetsu's breath echoed in his own ears, as pain radiated out through his body. 'This fight isn't over, and my classmates are relying on me. Why am I slowing down now when everything is on the line!! Fuck this weak shit, I WANT TO BE A HERO DAMNIT!'

Tetsutetsu felt his metallic skin flush with heat as the various scratches across his body disappeared and the acid clinging to him slid off like he was a nonstick surface. Then Tetsutetsu felt a surge of strength flood through his entire body as his skin gained a dark water-like pattern across its surface.

'What's going on,' Tetsutetsu stared in shock at his skin in wonder and the new found strength flowing through his body. Tetsutetsu was so surprised by his sudden transformation that he didn't notice the ant sneak up behind him and lunge forward with its mandibles.

The monster's jaws snapped down on Tetsutetsu intent on cleaving his head from his shoulder, but the moment the chitinous jaws touched Tetsutetsu's skin a resonating gong echoed through the air like a tuning fork had been struck. At the same time the ant's jaws snapped like dried twigs leaving Tetsutetsu's skin completely unmarked.

Stumbling back the ant screeched out in pain and Tetsutetsu spun around to face it with wide eyes. Even if the blow wouldn't have killed him Tetsutetsu should have felt some mote of pain, but even as the seconds trickled by the slight tingling sensation faded as quickly as it came.

Still numb from the overwhelming changes happening to his body, Tetsutetsu moved on autopilot, stepping forward and burying his fist into the ant's forehead. Or at least he tried to.

The moment Tetsutetsu felt his fist come in contact with the ant's carapace the same resonating sound echoed through the air and at the same time Tetsutetsu watched as a wave passed through the ant's body.

In the next instant the monster collapsed seemingly unscathed but very much dead.

Tetsutetsu stared at his outstretched fist in shock before a wide smile spread across his face, "That's what I'm talking about!"

Turning around Tetsutetsu slapped his chest like a gong as he faced the rest of the ant's who had stopped their seemingly endless advance to stare at him in confusion, "That's right who wants a piece of me now!"

Kenji looked over at Tetsutetsu as the equivalent sound of a bull in a chime shop rang through the air, only to grin as he saw the metallic man slaughtering ants in a single reverberating punch.

'Did he evolve in the middle of fighting?!' Kenji stared at the sight with wide eyes as he caught a glimpse of the familiar pattern across Tetsutetsu's skin, 'It looks like damascus steel, and not the shitty modern kind.'

Every single ant that Tetsutetsu punched collapsed without a single scratch on its carapace, but Kenji imagined that their insides were scrambled and partially liquefied.

'I swear any power vibration or sound related is broken as fuck…I wonder what would happen if he paired up with Jiro. That could be a vicious combo.' Kenji thought to himself all while tanking the collective attacks of at least ten ants.

Already Kenji's control had improved by leaps and bounds, no longer was his robe just a piece of armor, it almost acted like a living thing. Even at rest Kenji's void armor now rippled in an invisible wind and floated around him unaffected by gravity.

The armor also reacted whenever Kenji was attacked, moving its many overlapping folds together to increase the spatial effect or removing pieces of itself if acid dripped on it. Before Kenji felt as if he was drowning in the overwhelming numbers, now he didn't even bother to dodge the ant's relentless surge.

"I suggest you cover your ears, because I'm about to make some noise!"

Kenji grinned as Tetsutetsu came crashing through the group of ants surrounding him, his fists lashing out whenever one of the monsters entered his range, "Don't worry my hood protects me, also congratulations on your evolution!"

Tetsutetsu laughed out loud as he continued to punch away, "I can't let you have all the glory!
