Chapter 46

The explosion grabbed the attention of all the candidates. Gang Orca dropped down into the arena with other people behind him.

" Rescue and fighting. Can you manage to do both? " He asked as he looked at candidates.

' During the operation against the league of villains in Kamino, Gang Orca who was called out alongside Best Jeanist and Endeavor. He's strong. '

" Villains have appeared and started a follow-up attack! Hero candidates should continue their rescue efforts and face the villains at the same time. " Mera said over the speaker.

" Continue the rescue while fighting? Iida muttered.

" Can everyone hear me? " Axel's voice came out from the walkie-talkies.

Reacting, everyone took out their walkie-talkies as the villains rushed towards the first aid station.

" There are 6 civilians in the flood zone, 4 in the fallen city, and 9 in the mountain area. Split up. Send some people from your groups to the first aid station to protect the civilians. " Axel said over the walkie-talkie.

Understanding the situation and knowing how many civilians are left, each group did as Axel said. Candidates who specialized in attacking headed towards the villains to take them out.

They didn't have to worry about the civilians as Axel created a barrier around the first aid station. The civilians were still being treated while the villains were being taken care of.

' Not bad. ' Gang Orca thought as he looked towards Axel who was sitting on his barrier.

' We're being apprehended at a much faster rate than I thought. They don't have to worry about the civilians getting hurt with him around. Then I guess ill have to take out the heroes first. '

Gang Orca went straight into the action. He began taking out most of the candidates with ease, going after each one of them.

' For this second test, we have everyone start with a certain number of points and we'll grade them by subtracting points from that. HUC will evaluate how properly they're acting in their rescue.

Besides that, a general evaluation to see whether or not you're positioning yourself to make the best use of your quirk will be performed by the one hundred employees of the public safety commission who have a total grasp of the scoring manual and student's data.

Students will automatically fail when their score falls below 50 points. Do your best and try to make the right choices. ' Mera thought.

The candidates were having trouble as Gang Orca quickly dispatched most of them with relative ease.

" Is this all you can do? " Gang Orca asked as he walked forward towards the barrier.

' That boy is currently multi-tasking. He is the reason why they managed to find most of the civilians this quickly. He shouldn't overestimate himself. Doing multiple tasks at once will be taxing. ' Gang Orca thought as he stood in front of the barrier protecting the civilians inside.

He knew Axel wouldn't be able to focus on more than one thing. If he tried to, then he will tire himself out faster. The other problem is that Axel is the control tower for this enter exam, using his quirk to locate all the civilians for the others to rescue while helping in protecting the civilians from the villains. If he gets taken out, the other students will fall into disarray, before they have to recover. During that time, villains have the capability to do whatever they want.

Gang Orca released an ultrasonic wave at point-blank range to the barrier.He grits his teeth as he stepped back. Axel kept looking forward but he knew Gang Orca was about attack the barrier. So to counter he reflected the attack at Gang Orca.

Gang Orca had used more power in that sound blast to break the barrier, so that attack was stronger than the ones he used to paralyze the candidates. He breathed in heavily as he looked towards Axel.

' He reflected that attack towards me. If I couldn't resist my own sound attack, I would have knocked myself out. ' Gang Orca thought.

He quickly turned to his left and used a sound blast to break the ice that came towards him.

" Todoroki. " Midoriya yelled as he looked at Todoroki.

Todoroki kept using his ice to attack the villains as Gang Orca blocked his attacks.

" As expected of the number 10. " Todoroki muttered.

He then felt the wind picking up as he looked up to see Inasa gathering wind around. Inasa then blasted all the villains away, breaking Todoroki's ice as well.

" Inasa and Todoroki will handle Gang Orca. For now, we need to move all the civilians. Take them and move. I'll block any stray shots that come towards you. " Axel said over the speaker.

Changing his barrier to a large rectangle, it stood in front of the civilian as the candidates picked up the civilians and moved them to a different spot.

Todoroki and Inasa on the other hand realized they needed to face off against Gang Orca together.

" Arriving at the same time as you. " Inasa said with annoyance in his voice.

Todoroki looked at him before looking back at Gang Orca. He tensed up at the same time as Inasa who gathered wind around him.

' Here they come. ' Gang Orca thought.

As Inasa realized his wind, it headed straight towards Gang Orca and the other people posing as villains. At the same time, Todoroki used his fire and sent a blast towards Gang Orca.

However, the fire and wind collided, changing the directions of the attacks, making sure that they didn't hit Gang Orca at all.

" Why did you use fire?! " Inasa yelled.

Todorki was shocked too but didn't say anything. He didn't expect Inasa to attack at the same moment like him. He grits his teeth and said nothing, ignoring Inasa.

Inasa clicked his tongue as he saw Todorki saying nothing at all. Because of this, Gang Orcas henchmen used their weapons, that shoot out quirk drying cement.

They aimed for Inasa, who was distracted. Tod9rki noticed and quickly formed ice to portent him and Inasa.

" Don't take your eyes off the enemy. " Todoroki said as he looked at Inasa.

" I didn't need your help. " Inasa said.

" Then don't get distracted. If you're going to get distracted, get out the way. " Todoroki said.

Inasa grit his teeth as his hat covered his eyes. Those were some familiar words he had heard before.

" You are just like him. " He said as he dodged the cement.

" The main thing about heroes for me is passion! Their passionate hearts give hope and inspire people!" Inasa yelled.

" You're blocking me. Get out of my way. " Endeavor said as knocked away child Inasa.

" That's why I was shocked. All I could see from those eyes was a cold sense of anger! And at the entrance exam, I saw you and knew right away who you were. And yet you have the same eyes as him! " Inasa yelled.

Todoroki said nothing as he listened to Inasa speak his mind. Sighing, a breath of cold air appeared. Gang Orca who was listening to Inasa speak as well, widened his eyes in surprise as a large blast of ice rushed towards him.

It was larger than before and covered a wider area. He used his ultrasound blast to destroy the ice but the attack covered him and his troop. Inasa stared in shock.

He then looked at Todoroki who turned around to look at him.

" You're right about me being similar to my father back then. " Todoroki said he looked at Inasa who was shocked at Todoroki admitting that.

" But answer my question. What's more important? Telling me why you hate me or rescuing civilians? " Todoroki asked as he stared coldly at Inasa.

Inasa flinched as he looked at Todoroki. He recognized those eyes.

" Because I'm starting to think that's all you care about. We are in the middle of a battle. Innocent lives are on the line, yet you are always telling me why I'm similar to my father.

I get that you hate my father and I'm fine with you hating me, but is this really the time to be doing that?! You want to hate me, you do it outside of battle. Don't bring to the battle. " Todoroki yelled.

Inasa stared at Todorki with a shocked face as he looked around him. He could see the other candidates fighting villains, while others helped the civilians and found more in the disaster area.

He lost focus. His rage and anger determined his actions as he didn't like Todoroki, which impacted the fight. Gang Orca didn't attack because this isn't real, but a simulation. If he did this in a real situation, lives would be lost.

* bam *

He slapped his cheeks hard, leaving hard marks on his face. He looked at Todoroki and nodded his head with calm but determined eyes. No anger could be seen at the moment.

Todoroki nodded his head with a small smile as the ice was blasted apart. Gang Orca came out with his henchmen and looked at the 2 of them.

' Hmm did something happen? ' Gang Orca thought.

" You seem to have changed. Will it be enough to stop me? " Gang Orca asked.

Todoroki and Inasa looked at him.

" Yes. "

Gang Orca stared at Todoroki and Inasa before rushing straight towards them. Todoroki used his ice to slow down Gang Orca but Gang Orca plowed straight through using his ultrasonic wave.

Todoroki quickly made a platform underneath him to launch himself over Gang Orca. Gang Orca blasted through the pillar as his eyes widened. He quickly stopped as he broke the stones that were thrown at him with his hands.

He quickly jumped to his right as he avoided Todoroki's ice attack and looked the both of them. He jumped to his right again to dodge Inasa's attack once again.

Todoroki made an ice wall behind him to protect him from the cement shot at him from Gang Orcas helpers. The helpers kept firing but were interrupted by the other candidates.

" Todoroki!! " Inasa yelled.

Todoroki snapped out his thoughts about the cement as he saw Gang Orca in front of him. Gang Orca grabbed Todoroki and used his ultrasonic wave.

He was thrown to the side as Gang Orca dodged an attack from Midoriya. Midoriya kept Gang Orca busy as he attacked with kicks. He then jumped back as Inasa attacked Gang Orca with wind. Gang Orca stood his ground and took the attack.

Inasa watched as Gang Orca took his attack and looked around to see Todoroki. Todorki was still conscious as he used his left side. Inasa stared at the flames and directed his wind there.

He mixed the wind with the flames and surrounded Gang Orca within it. Midoriya looked at the fire tornado and then looked around.

He saw Shinso near Todoroki and quickly ran towards them.

" Shinso. Todoroki. " He said as he arrived.

" Midoriya. " Shinso acknowledged.

" Can Todoroki move? " Midoriya asked.

" No," Shinso said.

" What he said. " Todoroki answered.

" We need to end this. " Midoriya said.

" I can stop him. I just need to get in close. " Shinso said seriously.

" Then make it fast. " Inasa said as he kept controlling the fire tornado.

They stared at Gang Orca who destroyed the fie tornado with the sound wave. Gang Looked around and saw Inasa in the air. He grabbed a large stone from the ground and threw it at Inasa.

Inasa grits his teeth and dodged the attack. He continued to dodge as Gang Orca grabbed more stones.

" Midoriya, distract him. " Shinso said.

Midoriya looked at Shinso and nodded. He quickly ran towards Gang Orca who was about to pick another stone but blocked Midoriya's kick instead.

" Yoarashi, create a smokescreen! " Shinso yelled.

Inasa looked at Shinso as he took a breather and nodded. He gathered wind and slammed it onto the ground to make the dust fly into the air. He then directed to Gang Orca as Midoriya created distance between him and Gang Orca.

Gang Orca protected himself from the smokescreen by raising his hands in front of his face.

" Do you really think a smoke screen can stop me? " Gang Orca muttered. He sent out an ultrasonic wave to locate the position of the candidates. He used echolocation.

" Yes. "

He picked up on a large glacier coming straight towards him. He used his ultrasonic wave to destroy it completely and removed the smokescreen.

" You thought wro... " His eyes blurred out as he stopped moving.

Shinso breathed heavily as he stared at Gang Orca. He knew Gang Orca would criticize them for their plans so he used that to his advantage. Creating a smokescreen would be useless as Gang Orca wouldn't have much trouble.

Shinso was the one who answered Gang Orca and Gang Orca responded to criticize them, falling into the trap.

" Hey, why isn't Gang Orca moving? " Ms. Joke asked.

" He's been captured. " Aizawa said with a smirk.

" The test is now over. All the civilians have been rescued. " Mera announced on the speaker.

" It's over. " Midoriya muttered.

Meanwhile,

" Hey, did we rescue the last civilians? " Kamanari asked.

" I think so. " Kirishima said.

" How do you think Bakugou will take this? He didn't get to fight? " Kamanari asked.

" He's probably having a fit. "

He was. Bakugou was slamming his fist on the ground over the prospect of not being able to fight villains.

' I spent my time here for nothing. ' Bakugou thought.

The candidates went to the locker rooms to change out their hero costumes to their respective school uniforms before coming back out.

The exam had finished and it was time for the results to be displayed on the screen.

" The names of those who passed will appear in alphabetical order. Please check it yourself. " Mera said.

The results were shown on screen and most of them were surprised and hopeful. There were a lot of names shown on the screen.

Axel searched for his name on the screen and found it soon enough. He had a small smile on his face, taking pride in the fact that he passed the exam.

Shinso was the same as he had a happy smile on his face, looking at his name on the scoreboard. Shoto had a small smile as well seeing his name. Inasa let a breath of relief as he saw his name. He thought he had failed he started arguing with Todoroki.

Bakugou on the other hand stared in shock. His name wasn't on the list at all. He grits his teeth as he looked in the M section to see Midoriya had passed. He was angry as he looked down at the ground clenching his hands tightly.

The rest of class 1-A celebrated as their names were on the list. Inasa walked up to Todoroki and stared at him.

* bam *

He gave a full bow, slamming his head into the ground.

" Thank you! If you hadn't knocked sense into me, I would have failed this exam due to my narrow-mindedness! Also, I'm sorry for those things I said earlier! It was insensitive of me. Sorry!" He said.

' Why did you slam your head into the ground again? ' Todoroki thought.

" It's fine. " Todoroki said he tried to get Inasa to stop bowing his head so low.

" So what happened? " Axel asked Shinso as he looked at Todorkinand Inasa.

" Endeavor. " Shinso said.

" Understandable. " Axel said.

" So... we will now pass out a printout of your results. A detailed breakdown of your score is included, so please read them carefully. "

Axel was gotten his paper and looked at it. His attention was then turned to Mera who started talking again.

" The cut-off score was 50 points. We scored by taking off points. You can see in detail which actions caused how many minus points. "

Axel looked at his score to see 90 points. Looking through the paper, he found out that they had taken points off mainly for him being at the center of control.

After a speech from Mera, the exam came to a close. All the students gathered their things and stood outside the arena to head back to their respective schools.

" We finally got our licenses!! " Kirishima said as he held his up in the air and stared at it.

" Yep. " Axel said with a small smile on his face.

" Hey, get over here. " Mina said as she held up her phone. Axel and Kirishima walked over to her and held their licenses in front of them. Mina took the photo as Kirishima and Axel looked at it from over her shoulder.

" Send that to us. " Kirishima said.

" I am. Don't worry. Just need to make a few adjustments first. " Mian said with a smile.

" No! The last you made me have dog ears and tongue. " Kirishima said to her.

" At least send it to our parents first without the effects. " Axel said.

" Fine, but I'm still using the effects. " Mina said as she sent the photo.

" Mina no. " Kirishima said.

" Mina yes! "

" Toga, where were you? " Compress asked as Toga entered the room where the rest of the LOV was hiding.

" I know how Axel found Dabi's location. " Toga said happily. This got the league's attention as they turned towards her.

" Explain. " Dabi said.

" It's simple. Mirrors. " Toga said as she smirked. " His barriers acted like mirrors. By lining them up he can check up on everyone. That's how he found Dabi. "

Toga found this out during the exam when she saw Gang Orca get hurt when he tried to attack Axel's barrier. Her brain started working and thought of the possibility that Axel's barrier could reflect things.

If he could, then he would be able to make his barriers imitate mirrors to find people. Having multiple would help to cover more distance.

The league stood there shocked before they stayed silent. Even Toga stayed silent as she knew what that meant. Axel's ability to scout may have been revealed but that's only one part of the problem.

Even if his ability was found out, how would they be able to deal with it?
