Team Battles {I}

Jayden reached the semi finals together with twenty-four other contestants, they were all quite confused when it was announced that they were in the semi finals, and were even more confused when they were shown the format in which the battles were going to commence.

They were divided into teams of five, and each team and individual were going to start battling for points.

The teams were going to battle other teams, until all the teams had fought each other, then the ten individuals with the highest points, will be promoted to the finals.

Jayden's team consisted of an Elf, an Ascending Fallen Angel, a Zanarian, and an Asura, who turned out to be Zreno Snalker, the Asura who had stopped him sometimes ago and said something about acknowledging him as a high warrior.

There were going to be ten battles, and they were given a day to come up with a strategy and get to know each other's flaws and strengths.

Although a day wasn't enough for them, they had to manage the time and were forced to come up with something, no matter how strange it might seem, as long as it worked.

Jayden –the only human left in the tournament– was a beacon of light to the rest of the human race, they cheered for him for giving them the chance to witness another human reaching the semi finals again in the tournament, and probably even winning it.

Jayden felt his heart warm up at the sight of his name getting chanted by all the humans, regardless of their age or status as he walked out.

He walked out with his team to the battle platforms were their historical fight was going to take place.

"Remember the plan, aim at the weakest first while we stall the rest. Is that clear?" The Elf –who was the only female in the group– asked with a tint of annoyance as she eyed the Ascending Fallen Angel.

"Who do you think you are to boss me around?!" The Ascending Fallen Angel known as UnforgivingMenance retorted. "You better watch your mouth or you'll be the one I'll aim for."

"Relax, there's no need to be such a dick, besides she's a lady for FUCK! sake, treat her like one." Jayden replied nonchalantly and walked past UnforgivingMenance.

UnforgivingMenance could only stare in anger, but didn't dare throw a word back at Jayden, and one could only wonder why.

"Don't worry Stella, we'll do our job right if you do yours right." The Zanarian said and floated just behind Jayden.

Zreno shrugged his shoulders and followed behind; Stella, the Elf, clicked her tongue and walked briskly to catch up with the other three, while the Ascending Fallen Angel was left standing alone and seething in rage.

"Bunch of hoe lovers, they see a beautiful bitch and they're simping already." He cursed one last time before moving to catch up with them.

From the other side of the battle platform, another group of five entered the stage. The team consisted of a Naga, an Asura, a Beast Kin, an Elf and an Ustapian.

They seemed to be prepared as they began to take their formation the moment they entered the stage. Jayden's group didn't slack either, they spread out until they were at least eight meters apart from each other before coming to a stop and facing their respective opponents.

Jayden stood before the Beast Kin, though his eyes were on the Ustapian that seemed chill about the whole thing.

'Blur, that guy's annoyingly fast.' Jayden thought as he stared at the Ustapian, he had made a mental note of all the competitors that might give him some problems, and also came up with some ideas on how to take them down.

'I hope it works.' Jayden thought.

"Hey!! Eyes over here." The Beast Kin called out. "It seems like fate wants us to have a personal duel, and we have been tasked to face each other by our teams."

Jayden turned his head and glanced at the speaker, while kept his head straight without speaking. Most of the fighters were creeped out sometimes when they faced him, the stoic expression on the Rogue Suit's face made him seem like a programmed robot with just one objective, TO KILL!!!

The Spider Kin didn't seem to be intimidated, instead, he was riled up and ready to rumble.

The MC this time was an Ustapian, she was as beautiful as any MC was meant to be, and her charisma made her liked by the whole spectators.

She introduced the fighter and gave a little summary of all the things they had achieved and the struggle they went through to get to this stage.

The crowd gave nostalgic smiles as they watched the replay, but were soon screaming again when the fight was about to begin.

As soon as the go ahead was given, the Ustapian whose role in his team was to tackle the Zanarian in Jayden's team, blurred out from view and reached him in no time.

The Zanarian had already begun to construct a dome of roots and vines around him before the Ustapian had moved, therefore, he was able to escape with his life that could have ended in a few seconds.

The Ustapian stared at the construct for a few seconds, then searched for another opponent to assault, but before he could do that, he heard the faint sounds of speaking within the dome of roots and vines.

He snapped his head in that direction instantly and was welcomed to the sight of a dense blue thunderbolt, heading straight for his head.

He dodged it rather easily, but another thunderbolt was heading for him, and so his fight with the Zanarian began.

Jayden relaxed when he saw that Terma, was doing just fine against his opponent, and switched his attention back to his.

"You really should not keep your attention elsewhere in the middle of a fight!" Jayden heard the Spider Kin say while evading a silk thread shot at him.

"I can do that because you're not really worth my time." Jayden replied. He could be considered cocky, but he knew what he was talking about, and unless the Beast Kin took the fight serious and went all out, Jayden would mop the floor with his face.

"Oh really." Jayden saw the Spider Kin's eyes twitch at his blatant insult. "Let's see if you can say that again when I beat you into submission."

The Spider Kin chanted some words, and his black chitinous exoskeleton suddenly had mystical inscriptions light up on it, and then he called out.

"BLOODLINE SURGE!!!"
