Short Fight

The period of rest was over, and the spectators filled the arena with their screams, cheers and crazed shouts. Not a single seat wasn't taken, and those who weren't lucky enough to secure a seat, watched the battles live from the live stream.

Jayden sat with rest of the students and teachers in the arena, as the MC laid out the rules for the one on one matches that were going to begin in a few minutes.

No one seemed to notice Sir Julius' disappearance, or maybe they did and just didn't care. Either way, that wasn't Jayden's problem.

"Just like always, the fighters will be randomly selected by our AI, I'm sure all of you know your numbers, it's written on your Participation Token." Jayden subconsciously nodded. His number was eight hundred and seven, among the last batches of people to register.

"The AI will put two contestants against each other, they might even be from the same race, all that matters is that they fight until one of them concedes, is knocked out, or dies. That's up to them to decide."

"There are exactly four hundred contestants left, so there won't be anyone getting lucky and going to the next round without a fight, IT'S ALL ABOUT YOUR POWER!!! and just like I said... GET REEEAAAADYYYY TO RUUUUUUMBLEEEEE!!!!"

"YEEAAHHH!!!! "

"SPILL SOME BLOOD!!!"

"Heheheh, this will be fun."

"WOOOHOOOOO!!!"

"I'VE WAITED A LONG TIME FOR THIS."

Loud roars of happiness and hyperactiveness were displayed by the spectators. Jayden just sat there with an expectant look, nothing more.

Though he was excited to see the other races fight, it wasn't to the point of going apeshit just by the thought of it. The babaric behaviour of those around just made him want to leave that place and watch the contest in peace.

Jayden got up, under the gazes of the students and teachers, no one raised a stink about his sudden leave, they were following the orders of the principal to let him do as he pleased.

Though some of them were not happy about this, because they hated that someone else was favored and not them, they didn't have the guts to go against the principal for fear of their lives and the lives of their families.

So under their annoyed watches, Jayden swaggered away.

__________

Jayden got to the area were preparations were ongoing and once again marveled at the sight before him, the sync of magic and technology truly gave him goosebumps. The prospect of one day using both in a fight gave him a weird feeling.

He made his way towards the room were the participants waited. Should incase his name get called, he won't have to start running from the spectators area to the arena, he would be found out immediately.

Meanwhile, in the arena, the MC had pressed the button for the AI to begin the roll, several faces were shown and replaced by another instantly, this went on for five seconds before the roll stopped on the images of an Elf and an Ustapian.

"OHOHO!!! It looks like an epic battle is underway. LET'S MAKE WELCOME... DEEAAATH DEEEAAAAALER!!!! The MC shouted, his voice echoing in the arena and earning him more screams from the spectators, especially the female Ustapians.

Responding to his call, an Ustapian with glowing golden hair appeared on the stage like a phantom, his speed making some of them think he had teleported. He ran in circles generating dust that spiralled into a towering tornado. He then smashed his palms on the ground, causing the tornado to forcefully disperse and crack the ground beneath him.

"HE'S SOOO HOT!!!!"

"MARRY MEEEE!!!"

"His hair is so, so BEAUTIFUL!!!!" The female Ustapians were going absolutely bonkers. The handsome Ustapian called DeathDealer seemed to be also enjoying the praises.

"That's dumb, he just showed one of his abilities." An Asura fighter commented.

"Perhaps he's trying to prove something, that no one can defeat him even when they know what's coming." A Zanarian said telepathically. "Though, it's still dumb."

"I concur." The fighters waiting were agreeing one by one at the DeathDealer's dumb move.

"AND HIS OPPONENT, SOOUUUTHWIIIIND!!!!" The MC said. The gentle claps of the Elfs were heard amongst the babaric spectators who were screaming until their lungs hurt, the Elves who were expected to be doing this, acted like civilised beings, unlike the other races.

A female Elf with nothing but the Elven traditional clothing walked gracefully onto the stage. There was no flashy moves or weird facial expression like the Ustapian, just a gentle smile that made her look pretty and calm.

DeathDealer and SouthWind stood opposite each other, with a hundred meters seperating them on the one hundred and fifty meters wide circular stage.

The MC began to give a little description about the two fighters while waiting for one of them to make a move.

"How do you want it pretty lady? Whatever you pick, I'll make sure to go easy on you." The Ustapian said with a serious and righteous expression.

"Dumb." The Elf mumbled. "I can sense his stupidity from a mile away."

"I'll give you time to think about it." And then, the Ustapian actually sat on the ground and waited.

'If I take advantage of his lack of defense, I might win the battle in a short time.' The Elf thought as several blades made out of air began to condense behind her.

The battle begins the moment the MC is done introducing the contestants onto the stage, so she wasn't going against the rules and attacking before the match was declared to start. Instead, it was the Ustapian that believed that until they decided, no one would fight.

The Elf raised her two hands and chanted for a second, the Ustapian raised an eyebrow, wondering what she was up to.

"I see you've made a decision, but you don't have to raise your hands to get my attention, we're not in scho...

"TIME SLOWZ." The Elfs shout interrupted him.

Without warning, air began to coalesce on the spot the Ustapian was sitting, he reacted and jumped to his feets, but that simple feat that usually took him a quater of a second, was taking him almost two seconds.

Those two seconds were what the Elf needed to shoot the wind blades hidden behind her, and shred the Ustapian into chunks of flesh and bones.
