Assault of Messages

Jayden slept peacefully 'throughout the night', or so he thought. He woke up to the feeling of Draven tugging at his torn body suit. He slowly opened his eyes and saw dravens piercing red eyes staring at him.

Jayden slowly rubbed his eyes and stretched his body before squinting his eyes.

"Huh..." Jayden rubbed his eyes again to wipe away his sleep and looked around.

"Nahshon." He called out.

[Good morning Jayden, how can I help you?]

"Why is everywhere dark?" Jayden asked as he activated his broken Mech Suit to check the time. The Mech Suit formed around his body before everything popped up as usual.

His Mech Suit showed a hologram -that only he could see- of his Mech Suits state, a compass, two icons that showed his heart rate and his bodily state and a digital time at the top left corner of his vision. The time currently showed Six Fourty-two AM.

He remembered being told by Nate when he rambled, that time on Planet Euphoria was the same as with planet Grenkar.

"So why is everywhere still dark?" He asked again.

[I already answered your question]

Jayden heard the system say. "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention."

[Planet Euphoria has twelve hours of daytime and twenty four hours of nighttime, but still twenty four hours a day]

"What?.... I didn't get that." Jayden creased his brows and said.

[Let me rephrase]

[Yesterday was normal, today will be dark throughout, tomorrow will be normal and the next will be dark throughout]

[It continues on like that]

"That's... Weird, isn't it?"

[You have some messages]

"From who?" Jayden asked even though he knew fully well who it came from.

[Your teammates]

"Open it." Jayden said, but on second thought asked. "Why didn't I receive the messages yesterday? They must have been worried and sent the messages immediately they were in a safe place to talk and not now."

[They did send the messages yesterday, but at that moment you were already in the Devil's Abode which blocked all transmissions]

"Hmm... I see." Jayden placed his hands on his chin and mumbled to himself. "How many messages do I have?"

[Seventeen...

"Just seventeen?"

.... thousand].

It was at this moment that Jayden slipped and fell from the wide branch he sat on. He landed with the grace of a rock and a resounding Thud!! with some parts of his Mech Suit coming off again.

Draven seeing this, thought it as some kind of play and jumped from the branch too. Jayden who was getting up suddenly fell back down as Draven landed squarely on his back.

"Urghh..." Jayden groaned as Draven jumped off his back and sat by his side while staring at him.

Jayden looked at him briefly before his attention went back to the Rogue System.

"Seventeen thousand messages, are you for real?" Jayden was perplexed. "How can four people send seventeen thousand messages in just eighteen hours?" Jayden was surprised but it still put a smile on his face. He opened the messages and was once again shocked to find out that most of the messages weren't half-assed, but were full-blown essays -if they could be called that-.

The messages were all sent directly to his brain where he digested them slowly. Some messages were repeated several times but the messages all together boiled down to the same thing. They were worried and trying to find him, to know if he was okay. His lack of replies further agitated then and made them paranoid.

At some point, Nate thought he was playing a prank on them, but knowing Jayden couldn't play with their feelings thay way, kicked out the idea.

As Jayden processed the seventeen thousand and eighty three messages, he saw a new one enter.

[Jayden, where are you? Natalia needs you, you can't die on her like that. You can't die on me, if you're there just know that I love you bro -Nate].

Jayden felt sad to have made his friends worry, but seeing the last statement made him cringe inwardly and he immediately replied.

[What the hell dude.... Sorry, but I aint gay.] He was about to send the message when a thought crossed his mind then he added. [You have Knell there with you to satisfy your urges].

"Hehehe." He giggled evilly to himself. He got a reply instantly from the worried Nate.

[JAYDEN!!!!, where have you been? Why didn't you reply to our messages? Do you know we have been worried sick about you? Lucy and Lewis won't stop crying and Knell has tried to do some crazy shit multiple times. I've had a lot to do just because you disappeared. Did something happen to you? Did Derrick do something to you? Of course he did. Just wait till I get hold of that bastard. He'll pay dearly for all the pains he has caused us. Jayden are you there?]

Jayden was rained down with questions from Nate, he assumed that he shared the good news with the rest which soon led to another assault of questions.

Jayden didn't know where to start from and just stared as the messages flooded his vision. His lack of reply soon caused another barrage of messages.

[Guys I'm fine] He entered their group chat instead of answering them individually.

[What happened Jayden?] The four of them sent the same thing at the same time.

[Long story or short story] He asked.

[Short story]

[Long]

[Short]

[Short story]

[Majority rules it is, short story first then]

[I was chased down like a squirrel by derrick and his team ended up in a Devil's Abode. Found this secre....]

[I suggest you don't tell them anything that happened in the Devil's Abode] Nahshon interrupted him.

[Why?]

[Because that's what you're supposed to do]

[What do you think will happen if the information of you surviving a fall into a Devil's Abode and coming out with a Creation Orb embedded into your chest and gaining cool new powers.]

[You surely will be dissected like a corpse and analyzed in the worst way possible before being kept for future experiments]

[Humans will cover up their little fetish for analyzing new specimens with the facade that you're doing the whole of humanity a favor]

[Trust me, I've seen this before]

[So tell them and loose your chance of ever exerting revenge]
