Prologue 2: Death And Reincarnation

//Eddie POV//

I opened(?) my eyes(?). I couldn't really tell. Everywhere I looked, at least I think I looked,was darkness. Nothing but what seemed to be an endless landscape which was completely dark.

I stood there for what felt like a long time. How much time had really passes I do not know.

"AGHHHH! This is getting frustrating! I should be in heaven or hell or in some other world living a new life!" I screamed. Suddenly, I felt myself being pulled from somewhere and the next thing I knew I was in a white space with a table and chair in front of me. On the other side of the table sat a guy who didn't seem that much older than I was.

"While I like being compared to a teen, I am actually as old as the universe." The guy said. Is he reading my mind?

"Yes Edward, I am reading your mind, kind of. Everything you think can be heard here. By the way, I'm Michael, nice to meet you Edward." The guy, Michael said.

"Yeah, same." I said rather awkwardly.

"So, I am dead right?" I asked Michael.

"Yup. your 100% dead." Michael replied.

"What is this place exactly?" I asked the man.

"This place, Edward is the void. Here souls of the dead are kept waiting until their fate is finalized. " He answered.

"So since your here I'm guessing you finalize the fate. So, Does that make you God?" I asked, genuinely curious. God is usually depicted as an old man who resembles Gandalf or Dumbledore, not some young dude named Michael.

"Oh no, I am not God. God would never waste his time with this shit. Also, I am not a 'random dude named Michael', Edward. I'm one of his angels. We all finalize the fate of a soul. Really depends on who you get. " He answered.

"Now, we decide your fate by looking at your karma. If you have a lot of good karma, you go to heaven. If you have a lot of bad karma, you go to hell. If you have karma, which is quite neutral or not one of the extremes you get the chance to get reincarnated into a new life on a new world. Got that? " He asked after finishing his explanation. I ran over everything I heard and nodded.

"Good. Now take a seat as we're going to see where you go, though, the majority your age only end up in one place and most of the time, it isn't heaven." Michael said ominously.

"Really reassuring. " I say dryly taking my seat. Michael took out what seemed to be a calculator as he started typing away.

"So, I'm guessing the only reason I haven't panicked is because I can't due to being dead or something like that. And how long is this gonna take?" I asked. Honestly, I should've panicked. If I can get angry then panic should be possible.

"Yeah. You can get angry and stuff but panic is not something that you can do. Also, I'm done." He said as he pressed a button.

"Well, as expected, Your a teen so you haven't done much to warrant any of the karma types. However, saving the kid did put in a good bit of good karma. However, your results show your basically just a bit on the good side. Which means, Edward, that you are getting reincarnated!" He said, the last part a bit enthusiastically.

" Now before we continue I must tell you how this works. Firstly, The world you go to gets decided by a wheel. Secondly, depending on the powers in the world another wheel or wheels will appear that decides your powers. If you get a power which is of many types, then the wheel will change to decide which part of the power you get or if you get all abilities under that power. Now, the last thing, and this is the most important so listen carefully, you don't get wishes. You only get to decide on your appearance, your time of birth, your name and whether or not you keep your memories. You understood all that?" He asked. I went through everything one more time. Wheel of world, wheel of power, get to decide birth, appearance and memories. With everything sorted through I nodded.

" Yeah"

"Good, then lets begin." He said as a wheel appeared. On it I saw may familiar names. DC, DBZ, FMA, Black Clover, MHA, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Pokemon, Dark Souls, Assassin's Creed, MCU, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, the list went on. Michael grabbed the wheel and spinned it hard. I didn't take my eyes of it even once and after what seemed like an eternity it stopped. The wheel had landed on MCU.

"Well, that world can be quite troublesome. Especially with its instability and constant reality breaking." Michael said. MCU may be difficult. I don't really know much about it. The last movie of the franchise I watched was the first Avengers movie. Recently though I had watched the infinity war trailer which had just released. It seemed interesting.

"Now onto your powers. Let's see what you get." Michael said eagerly. this seemed to be his favorite part. Just then two wheel appeared with multiple powers . Michael let both spin at the same time and this time they finished much quicker. The powers, Haki and Alchemy. Interesting. An odd combination but what type I get really matters here. The wheels then changed as one named all forms of haki while the other multiple types of alchemy. Again, both started spinning and came to a stop quickly. On the haki wheel it had landed on 'All'. This means that I'll be able to use Observation, Armament and Conquerors Haki. On the alchemy side of things the wheel had stopped on 'Flame Alchemy.' Flame Alchemy. Probably the most destructive type of alchemy, it would come in really handy in a world where I'll most likely be fighting villains on a regular basis.

"That's some luck. Two types of power which on their own is already strong. I wonder how much damage both together will cause." Michael said.

"Now let's get your choices out of the way." He said yawning. The angel seemed tired.

"I am Edward. I've already done this over a thousand times today, I need sleep, and yes time passes differently here for angel's then it does for souls." He said.

"I'll keep my name, appearance and memories and I'll be born in 1990." I said. If I wasn't wrong then the first MCU movie, Ironman's events will take place around 2008 so being a 18 year old seems ideal.

"Okay then, Edward West, you'll keep the name, appearance and memories of your previous life and shall be born during the year 1990 A.D. I wish you luck and hope you don't come back too soon." Michael said as he smiled and waved his hand. Before I could say anything, everything went dark.

Well that was interesting. Eddie doesn't know much about the MCU and it seems the world he's from doesn't even have infinity war yet. So what shall the new hero do? Find out In the next chapter Of MCU: A New Hero!
