As Mikael stared at the card with the address the satisfaction he had previously over the successful creation of his own Hunter Killer droid turned into sheer frustration and caution. He stowed the card away as he made his way home noticeably more serious than before. The frustration only seemed to grow as Mikael felt the sensation of being watched.
"Maybe I should've held off on the speeder bikes. Even if people are buying them no one can even legally use them yet on the streets." Mikael mumbled as he continued home on one of his own skimboard while keeping track of his observers. As he cruised down the road a couple feet off the ground he took a small hand held device from his pocket and raised it to his mouth as he pressed a button on the side.
"47, if you have to deal with any intruders do so without alerting them to your presence or use one of the holograms and make yourself look human." Mikael spoke into the device as he drifted hard left to begin crossing a bridge.
"Query: Master, is it truly necessary that I look like a meat bag?" The droids voice replied through the comlink.
"I've drawn enough attention by releasing speeder bikes ahead of time. I don't need people to know that I already have advanced assassin droids."
"Statement: Understood master. Commentary: I however will not enjoy the disguise." The droid responded as Mikael ended the communication before putting the comlink back into his pocket as he approached his home. Mikael slowed down before dismounting and picking up the skimboard as he entered the building and went to clean up before joining his parents for dinner.
"How are you doing Mikael?" His father asked as he sat down at the dining table.
"We'll I had a meeting with some traffic officials to try to make my speeders street legal but right now I have to restrict the speed and height my speeders are capable of to a foot off the ground and the speed of the average car. I also have a meeting set up with some military-" Mikael started to answer before he was cut off by Thomas.
"I wasn't asking about your business Mikael. I was asking about you. How are YOU doing?" Thomas clarified as he passed a plate of vegetables over to him.
"Me? I'm doing fine dad. Why'd you ask?" Mikael responded as he set the plate down after filling his plate.
"You have that look on your face like your mother when her mind is working at 110%. Look I may not be as smart as the two of you but you can talk to me if there's anything you need to get off your chest." Thomas said as he stepped out the back door before returning with a rack of ribs.
"Hell your mother still hasn't told me where exactly she works even after all this time. I just know that she's a engineer of some sort and that she works with her cousin Melinda. But your mother has had that same look on her face every now and then when she comes home from work." He told Mikael as he set the slab of barbecue on the table.
"Wait really? You don't know where she works?" Mikael asked in surprise as that was a piece of information he wasn't aware of. He knew clearly that his father was a veteran that joined the police force and his mother was a biomedical engineer that used to be a civilian contractor for the military before working for one of the pharmaceutical companies. He began to wonder what else had changed after the change.
"See you have that look again. Come on just tell me what's on your mind before you mother comes home. She'll be walking in that door any minute now." Thomas said as he sat down after grabbing a beer from the fridge.
"Well I've been thinking that maybe I've moved a bit too quickly. I feel like there's a lot more attention than I originally expected." Mikael said as he prepared another plate and set it aside before beginning to eat his own.
"Well you did just invent hover tech. You're bound to attract attention."
"Yeah but it's not like something original and never been seen before. I mean Howard Stark made one of his own and that was decades ago."
"Well his didn't become widely available did it?" Thomas asked as the sound of the door opening echoed into the house.
"See? Like clockwork. Makes me wonder if she served in the military and never told me." Thomas said with a grin.
"Hello boys. What's going on here?" His mother asked as she stepped around the corner into the kitchen.
"Mikael feels that he's been moving too fast and that he's attracted too much attention." Thomas answered as she washed her hands and sat down to eat.
"Well he has, I'm still not too happy about you graduating early. But it was your choice Mikael so I'll support you either way." Sarah said as she added more vegetables to Mikael's plate making him knit his brows.
"I'm more worried that the attention I've gotten will affect you both as well. I'm pretty sure people are already watching my every move at this point so I'm worried they might do the same to you." Mikael said as he stopped eating to look at them.
"You're worried people will use us to get to you." Thomas said as his face grew more serious.
"Yeah I am." Mikael responded as he took a breath. Thomas exchanged a look with Sarah as she smiled slightly before she spoke.
"Honey, you don't need to worry about us." Sarah said as she rubbed his cheek.
"We are not nearly as vulnerable as people think. But if it'll make you feel better I can have some friends improve the security of our home. I think I still have some favors to call on."
"Your mother's right, we can take care of ourselves." Thomas said in agreement as a smile returned to his face.
"If it makes you feel better I can ask a favor from one of my friends from the corps. He's returning from overseas and has been looking to move his family to a different neighborhood. Apparently he's worried about their safety so I can call him to see if he'd like to move into the vacant house down the street so we can watch each other's backs." His father added as he continued to eat.
"You should just focus on yourself. Do what you need to do. We will be fine." His mother reassured him as the family continued to eat. Mikael was more quiet as his mind processed plans and thoughts, something that didn't go unnoticed by his parents. Eventually they all settled in for the night but Mikael could not rest.
He sat in bed as he thought of different methods to keep his family from harm until eventually he left through his window and moved at high speed under the shadow of night and cloak of the force towards his factory. He entered through a hidden back entrance as he descended into his hidden workshop as he decided to accept the risk to protect his family. After he ordering HK-47 to act as a temporary bodyguard for his parents for the night Mikael set about creating another pair of Hunter Killer droids. As the morning sun began to rise Mikael had finally completed the assembly of the two droids with the extra parts he had originally set aside for the construction of HK-47. As he imbued the droids systems with his will and power the two droids trembled as their eyes lit up blue as they both turned to face him.
"Observation: Hunter-Killer droid is operational and awaiting your order master." The two black and silver droids addressed him in unison as they stood up straight.
"Henceforth you are designated as HK-48 and HK-49. Your sole objective is the protection of my parents. You are to keep at a distance and remain undetected until a threat to their safety presents itself that is outside their capabilities. If one such threat emerges you are to eliminate them with whatever force proves necessary unless my parents wish otherwise." Mikael commanded as he equipped them with holograms to make them appear as generic dark suited men in addition to modified repulsorlifts to assist with movement and prototype cloaking fields as well as several firearms.
"Statement: Understood master." The droids responded as they stashed their weapons and ammunition to magnetic clips on their body.
"Contact me if something outside your capabilities occurs. Now go." Mikael ordered as the droids began to walk out of the workshop, their forms shimmering before fading into a nearly invisible outline that quickly disappeared.
"47 return to my workshop I have upgrades to give you." Mikael called over his comlink and within several minutes the familiar sound of metallic footfall rang out from the stairs. By the time the clock hit seven Mikael had finished the upgrades to HK-47 and he rushed home to clean up after the night's work.
Mikael greeted his parents as they woke up before leaving out the door with the card he received in his hands. He could sense the presence of the two droid hidden on the roof as he started to walk towards the address written on the card.
"Let's go meet some sorcerers."
{A/N: Some people have complained that his personality doesn't match someone with 60+ years of experience but well first there's a reason for that and it will be explained soon as well as why he's now in a marvel universe. Second battle experience doesn't mean you have to be super serious and you can't have fun with things in a similar way that Mikael does here by trying to have a bit of fun with things. As seen with Kilgrave, Mikael can easily turn around and become extremely serious and aggressive.
Also to answer a different question Mikael wasn't a traditional Jedi after his time with Revan. He is very much a gray jedi after that point as he learned and used both sides more freely to accomplish his goals.}
