Chapter 115: "Step Aside, I Want to Hit Him"

Gwen wrapped all the bombs in her web and threw them back toward the Green Goblin.

The Goblin's expression changed dramatically beneath his mask. Even with his tough exoskeleton, he couldn't withstand an explosion of that magnitude.

"Spider-Woman! You've ruined my plans again!" he cursed, quickly ascending on his glider to distance himself from the returning bombs.

Gwen swung through the air on her webs, landing on the roof of the NYPD headquarters. She looked up at the fleeing Goblin. "Red Queen, what's that thing under his feet?"

"A type of glider, integrated with his exoskeleton, providing stability," the AI replied.

In the sky, the beeping of the pumpkin bombs grew more rapid. Then, with a loud explosion, the night sky lit up as fire engulfed the air. Countless fragments rained down.

George frowned at the sight—there wasn't a single smoke bomb among the explosives. If Spider-Woman hadn't appeared in time to throw them back, the consequences for the NYPD tonight would have been unimaginable.

Still shaken, George looked up at Gwen on the rooftop. "Thanks, Spider-Woman."

Gwen smiled and teased, "No need to thank me, Captain George. If you talk a bit more, maybe I'll come help you more often."

George's face darkened at the comment. Was she hoping his precinct would face more attacks like this?

In the sky, the Green Goblin was flung through the air by the blast, spinning several times before finally regaining his balance. Though his exoskeleton protected him from the worst of the explosion, the shockwave still left him with a pounding headache. After shaking his head a few times, he looked down at Gwen on the rooftop, his expression souring beneath his mask. "Spider-Woman... such a nuisance!"

"Perfect. Let's test the weapons on my glider with you."

With a flick of his foot, the Green Goblin's glider shot toward them again.

As Gwen watched the Goblin approach, her Spider-Sense tingled, warning her of impending danger.

"Captain George, get your men inside the building. Now!" she shouted.

"Everyone, listen to Spider-Woman! Get inside!" George ordered.

With George's command, all the detectives quickly retreated into the police station. Gwen, meanwhile, raised both hands toward the approaching Green Goblin.

"Web Bombs!"

Two spherical webs shot toward the Goblin. As they reached a certain distance, they expanded into two large webs, attempting to ensnare him.

"Webs? Fire's their worst enemy!" the Goblin sneered as a tube extended from the front of his glider, spewing flames. The webs were incinerated in an instant.

Though the webs had been destroyed, they bought the detectives enough time to reach safety. By the time the Goblin passed through the remnants of the webs, everyone had made it inside.

"Spider-Woman, I'm going to turn you into swiss cheese!" the Goblin roared as twin machine guns emerged from both sides of his glider, spitting fire and bullets at Gwen.

"Wow, his glider has a lot of tricks!" Gwen exclaimed as she swung through the air, dodging the hail of bullets.

"Miss Gwen, the glider is small. Its ammunition capacity is limited," the Red Queen analyzed. "Evade for now and wait for an opening to strike back."

"When I get my hands on that guy, I'm pulling him off that thing and beating him senseless!" Gwen muttered, dodging bullets while strategizing how to take down the Goblin.

Meanwhile, Tony Stark, flying towards Alan, received a report from J.A.R.V.I.S. "Sir, the NYPD is also under attack by an unknown assailant."

"Spider-Woman is engaging the attacker."

"Spider-Woman?"

Tony remembered that Alan happened to be near the NYPD as well. "J.A.R.V.I.S., pull up the footage."

A live feed from the NYPD popped up in front of Tony. He immediately noticed the Green Goblin and winced. "What is that ugly green thing?"

J.A.R.V.I.S. responded, "Analyzing his glider, sir."

"Looks like Spider-Woman might need my help this time," Tony said, recalling the times Spider-Woman had saved him. This time, it was his turn to lend a hand.

"Understood, sir," J.A.R.V.I.S. confirmed.

Back on the rooftop, Alan frowned as he watched Gwen struggling against the Green Goblin. "It seems Gwen is having a hard time handling an enemy like this without her new suit."

As the Green Goblin continued to wreak havoc, Alan took a step forward, ready to assist Gwen.

But, a fast-approaching figure caught Alan's attention.

"Oh? Tony wants to help too?"

Tony was clearly heading straight for Gwen, who was currently pinned down behind a stone pillar by the relentless firepower of the Green Goblin. The pillar was already riddled with bullet holes.

"Red Queen, how much longer until he runs out of ammo?"

"Approximately ten seconds, Miss Gwen."

"Ten seconds! Got it!" A ten-second countdown appeared before Gwen. Once time was up, she planned to dash out and yank that annoying green menace off his glider and give him a good beating.

Seeing Gwen hiding behind the pillar, the Green Goblin taunted her mercilessly. "Hahaha, where's all that bravado from earlier, Spider-Woman? You can't beat me like this!"

As he spoke, the Goblin pulled out two more pumpkin bombs, ready to throw them at Gwen. But before he could act, Tony's voice rang out from behind him.

"Hey! Don't throw that disgusting junk at my friend!"

Before the Green Goblin could even turn around to see who spoke, a powerful blast struck his back, sending him flying.

Tony hovered in mid-air, smoke still rising from the repulsor beams in his palms. "Huh, these are much stronger than before..."

Just as Gwen's ten-second countdown ended and she was about to make her move, the stone pillar next to her shattered. She turned to see the Green Goblin lying in the dust, looking extremely disheveled and struggling to get up.

"Hey, did you just knock yourself out with your own recoil?" Gwen joked, though she knew he had been attacked by someone else.

At that moment, Tony's voice came over. "Hey, Spider-Woman! I've repaid my debt."

Gwen stepped out from behind the pillar, looking at Tony with surprise. "Thanks, uh… Tommy? Steve... Striker?"

Tony's mood soured instantly. He hadn't expected someone to forget his name. "Thanks for renaming me, but I prefer my original one. It's Tony Stark!"

Gwen gave an embarrassed smile. "Got it. Tony Stark. I'll remember it this time. Thanks!"

"You two chatting like that is really pissing me off!" A huge boulder flew out of the dust, hurling straight toward Tony.

With J.A.R.V.I.S.'s assistance, Tony easily dodged the Goblin's sneak attack.

"Looks like this green pest has a habit of interrupting people's conversations," Tony quipped, raising his hands again, aiming his repulsors at the Goblin.

Gwen swung over on her webs and landed on a stone pillar next to Tony. "Yeah, he's really annoying."

Before Gwen could finish speaking, two black missiles shot out from the dust cloud, aimed at both her and Tony.

Tony quickly locked onto the missiles. "J.A.R.V.I.S.!"

"Understood, sir!"

A small array of missiles popped out from Tony's shoulder, all firing at once. Not only did they intercept the Goblin's missiles mid-air, but several more missiles zoomed through the dust cloud, heading straight for the Goblin.

The Green Goblin's glider burst through the smoke, smashing into the incoming missiles. Another violent explosion erupted.

Behind them, the NYPD building was left shaking and teetering dangerously from the impact.

Alan, observing from a distance, felt relieved. He watched the battle with great interest.

Iron Man + Spider Woman versus the Green Goblin? Now this is entertaining!

"Spider-Woman, it seems it'd be better if I handled this guy," Tony suggested. He had already figured out the Goblin's attack patterns—both of them were using technology, but the Goblin's tech was far inferior to his.

However, this thought only fueled Tony's competitive spirit. He also wanted to test how powerful his new element-powered suit really was.

Tony expected Spider-Woman to step aside, like last time, but to his surprise, Gwen moved forward, blocking him.

"No, I already told you!" she said firmly.

Tony blinked, confused. "Told me what?"

"I want to beat him up! Now move aside!"
