Angel's Misfortune

Angel crashed to the ground, his once majestic wings now lifeless. Blood oozed from a wound on his head, staining the ground in a grim shade of red.

No one expected Angel to meet his demise in such an unexpected manner. Despite lacking formidable attack capabilities, the sudden assault with a sniper caught everyone off guard.

In the unpredictable world of Mutants, where abilities varied widely, being powerful didn't equate to invincibility. Angel's untimely end served as a stark reminder of this reality.

Amidst the chaos, Max, cautious and alert, scanned the surroundings for the unseen threat. The actual danger on the battlefield wasn't always the most overt, and in this case, it was a sniper.

Watching Angel's demise, Max instinctively located the sniper's position on a high-rise building across the battlefield. Without hesitation, he sprinted toward the threat, determined to neutralize it.

On the rooftop, the sniper lay low, the cold gleam of the rifle revealing their deadly intent.

Meanwhile, a colossal figure approached silently, causing the ground to quake with each step. Clad in a red one-piece suit and a metal helmet concealing most of their face, the giant seemed unstoppable.

The behemoth charged towards an ice wall, demolishing it upon impact with a thunderous "boom." Iceman, shocked and dismayed, realized that his freezing abilities were futile against this formidable foe.

"Why are you doing this? You shouldn't be our enemy!" Iceman cried out, but the colossal figure paid no heed, relentlessly smashing through the defenses.

Amidst the chaos, John's urgent shout echoed on the battlefield, calling Mutants to rally. However, their attempts were thwarted as Sentinel and gunfire hindered their movements.

"Danger!" John's warning rang out, emphasizing the precarious situation they found themselves in.

John reacted swiftly to an unexpected sensation, instinctively dropping to the ground just in the nick of time.

A thunderous "boom" echoed, and a bullet whizzed perilously close above him, piercing the wall behind. The realization hit him – a sniper was targeting him.

Cold sweat dampened his forehead; John discreetly shifted his position, his trained eyes scanning for the elusive sniper. A seasoned veteran with battle scars, he honed in on the distant building's platform, widening his eyes in recognition.

It was Max.

A mysterious door materialized behind the sniper, and Max emerged, a sai directly at the sniper's head.

The attack was swift, catching the sniper off guard. Despite his vigilance, Max's peculiar entrance left him with no time to react.

With a sharp sound, Max withdrew the sai, displacing the fallen sniper. A sinister chuckle escaped Max's lips, signaling a shift in the battlefield.

As Max taunted, the agents of the Sentry Secret Service fell one after another.

Panic spread among them. "What's happening?"

"Sniper! Sniper!" Jestner urgently broadcasted over the radio.

A familiar voice responded through the headset, sending a chill down Jestner's spine. It was him.

"Sacred Gate"

Jestner swiftly signaled tactical moves to his team, directing Sentinel toward the sniper's location.

Max, now armed with a sniper rifle, aimed down the stairs and vanished into a different space. The muzzle pointed at the ground.

"Open!" Max whispered, and a hidden arch materialized on the stairwell. Unaware of the danger overhead, several agents focused on the stairs, ready for a surprise attack.

"Boom!"

Gunshots erupted in quick succession. In a matter of seconds, the squad was decimated, clueless about their assailant. Max discarded the sniper rifle, leaping from the alternate space. His sai sought out the Sentinel members accompanying the team.
