Chapter 4 Memories and Good Person

Images flashed in my mind like an old-school tape. Nothing made sense with how unorganized it all was and it didn't help that my brain felt like it was stuffed with toothpicks.

After what felt like hours it all began to piece together even if it was one messy piece at a time.

Seeing his memories was strange, to say the least like deja vu. wasn't too different from my life which wasn't surprising considering he's my alternate self in this world.

He too grew up in an orphanage until he moved out at 16 while attending MidTown High however that's where things took a turn.

One day in school he became class partners with one of the main popular girls of the school Mary Jane. She was kind, funny, and most of all pretty with bright red hair that was only matched by Jean Grey.

So he did his best to make her laugh which she did and they got along quite well. This however didn't go too well with her boyfriend with a fragile ego Flash Thompson and oh did he make it clear.

Every day from that point on made high school like hell. It started off small with snarky remarks to make others laugh and pieces of paper being thrown at him. It was annoying but nothing too harmful.

This soon changed as he upped his bullying to stuffing his face in the toilet to beat down on his way home. Everyone knew what was going on but nothing was done about it thanks to his best friend who acted like a shield. "Harry Osborn". Some did try but they were usually forced to stop soon after.

Being humiliated and alone, left Kol feeling helpless. At this point, the bullying had already stopped thanks to Flash getting a new target but the damage had already been done.

With his confidence shattered Kol slowly stopped going to school and spent most of his days at home up to the moment I took over.

I silently sat there as I contemplated these new memories.

A part of me wanted to just forget about everything that this Kol had gone through. I didn't truly experience it after all and merely watched it like a bystander and yet I couldn't just let this go.

Sigh this will complicate things… but it's not like it's too much trouble considering the fact that I need to gather points for the system.

MidTown High also happens to be the perfect place to farm for points with so many notable characters going there. It shouldn't be too dangerous either.

Luckily it has only been three weeks since Kol started missing so I can just say I was sick the whole time and return with a mere reprimand from the teachers.

Speaking of school, today should be Monday meaning I have classes. Looks like it's time for me to make my entrance.

[MidTown HighSchool]

After getting together what I would need for school I quickly made my way to the campus which looked just as amazing as it did in my memories.

The building was four stories tall and made out of brick with excellent architecture. The grounds were well-maintained and everything about this place screamed sophistication.

This truly was a prestigious school at least compared to the one I went to which used cubicle-type buildings and poor maintenance with many areas needing repair.

Even with this school's prestige and well-kept appearance it still had its own share of problems. I thought as the Image of Flash appeared in my mind and the looks of all those who refused to help.

With a deep breath, I was about to take my first steps into this new unknown. I was definitely eager to meet some characters that were once merely fiction but was soon surprised as my body froze in place.

Looking down I noticed the appearance of my legs firmly planted in place as my hands shook.

An annoyed expression soon appeared on my face as I realized what was going on.

I was afraid or at least my body was. Most likely due to the past trauma still present even if only as a memory.

While still looking down at my hands I slowly made a fist to ease these nerves until a familiar voice entered my ears.

"Kol is that you? Where have you been no one has seen you in weeks. I was worried something happened to you."

"Gwen" I said as I made a helpless smile.

She was one of the few who tried to help me and was the most active in preventing Flash from bothering me. My previous self was always thankful to this girl with a strange sense of Justice for even minor things. She was always there to help despite only sharing a single class and having barely any connection with him. He even wondered why she bothered getting involved and wondered if there was something she wanted from him.

Heck if I didn't know who she was I'd probably be wondering the same thing since genuine kindness is something the world seems to lack these days. However thanks to my comic knowledge I had a better understanding of her character. She truly was a good person and one who was worthy of respect.

Some would probably argue that she's only helpful because of her father being the police chief and while it is true that he may have influenced her as her parent it doesn't change the fact that her feelings are genuine.

Getting a better look at her I couldn't deny she was quite beautiful with bright blonde hair and nice blue eyes. Her skin was even a pretty white that could be considered a jade beauty in a certain blue star country.

She looked practically the same as the actress who played her 'Emma Stone' if anything she was a bit prettier than the actress due to how perfect her skin looked.

While I was lost in thought Gwen began to have a red blush on her cheeks before it quickly went away and was replaced with an annoyed look.

"How long are you going to stare at my face Dagon! And don't try to dodge the question where have you been?"

Her words soon knocked me out of my thoughts as I realized I may have stared a bit too long but can you blame me? Wouldn't you do the same if you saw Gwen Stacey in real life?

"Ah well, I was sick…" I said in a bit of a rushed tone.

"Haha sure tell the truth I know you're lying I went to your house multiple times to check on you but you wouldn't even answer the door when I brought your homework"

I couldn't help but cringe as I remembered how the original burned it all.

"You want me to be honest Stacey. I was sick really sick in fact. Sick of this school." I felt it was best to be honest with her.

Gwen's annoyed face soon disappeared and was instead replaced with one of realization and a bit of disappointment not at me but at herself.

I could already guess that she's blaming herself for not being able to do enough based on her character. Which wasn't something I wanted not at all. She really did help after all.

"But I'm better now I'm not gonna let the past bother me and decided to come back especially since a certain someone wouldn't leave me alone at home."

Gwen's disappointed face quickly changed to one of triumph as she even squeezed her fist like she had made some sort of great victory.

I couldn't help but think that she was quite cute as I saw this.

"Hm good to see you are better. Let's head to class it's already almost time and we both know how annoying Mr Harrington can be when people start showing up late and interrupting his class."
