Chapter 3: Training
Ranger was first angry at the amount choice's but that soon subsided Once He had touched one of the items out of curiosity. A panel opened given the item Name, a Description of said Item, and the Purchase function.
"Name: Rookie Baton
Description: A wooden baton most commonly used by state Police.
Purchase: Yes No."
The definition wasn't that well thought out, but Ranger didn't seem to mind it. "I'm happy that some things could be simple." Ranger thought.
Ranger of course chose the 'No' button to not waste any of His newly awarded Mission Points and zoomed through the other options in the Items category.
"Name: Rookie Knife
Description: A wooden Knife used in the early 13 century resembling that of a short sword.
Purchase:Yes No
Name: Rookie Sword
Description: A wooden sword made in the early Bronze Age, but don't let the age fool you it still is a strong weapon to cause blunt trauma.

Name: Rookie Dart
Description: A wooden Dart that could be used in a Blowgun.
Purchase:Yes No"
Ranger thought the second one was more informative than the others and wondered 'Is the System trying to joke?'
Ranger again didn't pay attention to it and focussed on the skills section.
"Name: Toads Jumping
Description: User gains the ability ofLeaping far distances and intern becomes more agile.

Name: Toads Tongue
Description: User's Tongue gets a mind of its own with a range of 30 ft and can cause a small chance of Paralyzing the target.

Description: Gain the Knights of Pendragon's affection with their healing ability which can slowly Heal faster any wound.

Ranger was impressed by all the choices that were available forgetting His anger from before. Ranger then memorized all the skills functions and was astounded.
Ranger was actually surprised at Toads ability options with how versatile they both were. Ranger first thought that He wouldn't even consider buying one of Toads abilities, but that mindset had easily changed after reading their Descriptions.
As Ranger stared at these skills and agonized on how well two of them worked with each other. Ranger took a step back "Whew my old habit nearly kicked in."
Ranger in His past life wasn't just a Game Developer He was also a Money Spender where he'd waste all His newly awarded paycheck only for him to barely have any food that lasts him a week.
This time however Ranger caught himself and thought calculatedly and decided to hold off on purchasing anything until He had more Mission Points to spend.
And as if God was on His side. Ranger felt a vibration on His Tempad.
Ranger looked at the vibrating Tempad on which was an orange rectangle like envelope just begging Ranger to open it.
Once He did, He regretted it. Inside the envelope Miss Minutes appeared in. Her giddy self spoke out to Ranger saying "Good job on your enlistment into the Minutemen RJ!"
Ranger then began to panic after remembering that He had put it off thinking the System had played a joke on Him. At that moment the System sent a prompt with two words. "TOLD YOU."
After the prompt disappeared Ranger was angry, but didn't want to show it and after a few seconds of calming down Ranger asked. "Um. Miss Minutes when do I start?'
Miss Minutes was shocked she could tell Ranger didn't like this change, but He didn't voice His opinion causing Her to think "Wow He really is a soldier accepting orders."
After being caught staring Miss Minutes felt shy which she didn't feel in a long time and then suddenly. Miss Minutes began to buffer hearing a voice "Good job I didn't expect you to win in only Five games of chess." Miss Minutes didn't know who this person was, but She felt familiar with Him.
As Miss Minutes was seeing this thing that could be described as a memory the Elevator stopped reaching the first level of the TVA.
Soon after finishing Her Buffering Miss Minutes heard Ranger ask a question "Do you know when B15 wants me to start?"
Miss Minutes soon came back to reality, startled and spoke "Oh? Yes, B15 wants you to start tomorrow at Five am."
With that Ranger spoke with a sigh "Okay understood." Ranger began to walk away from Miss Minutes until Ranger turned around on his shoulder asking "Um do you know where the Training room is?"
Miss Minutes was stumped by Ranger's question and answered with a question "And Why do ya need to know that?"
Ranger then turned around placing his right hand on His head and spoke "Well I just wanted to know so I can practice training."
Miss Minutes was perturbed by Ranger's response and opened His file on top of His Tempad saying "The Box under your name should take you where you want to go just type where and the Tempad will take you."
As Ranger opened His file He finally saw His new name 'RJ-213.' Ranger now RJ couldn't believe it. That He had a new name well He wasn't that surprised He was in a new world to live in for the rest of His new life and decided to keep His new name.
RJ then pressed the small orange button under His name. When suddenly a search bar appeared at this sight RJ looked at Miss Minutes showing a genuine smile saying "Thank you."
In that two worded sentence Miss Minutes again remembered that strange voice this time however instead of calm and endearing was shy in scared speaking in a stutter. "I-I-It's O-Okay you d-d-onn't need t-to worry."
RJ noticed Miss Minutes was doing something technical and decided not to bother Her and instead placed in the search bar 'Training room.' After hitting enter an orange arrow jumped out the Tempad leading to hopefully the training room.
After RJ left Miss Minutes She stood or floated still in the same place for a while until a minutemen woke Her up and she then disappeared wondering 'What is wrong with me?'
Soon after walking for five minutes RJ arrived at the Training Room. Which didn't have anything, no weapons or dummies to train with or even weights. But that wasn't what took RJ's attention, what did was a woman who came inside in sports wear. RJ noticed Her prominent features like Her assets and what truly caught RJ's eyes was her hair style. It was mainly Red but one streak of it was Black.
As RJ continued to stare He saw something else to it was Her Tempad She pressed a certain button and suddenly several holograms appeared showing a training dummy, a weight set, and a weapon stand.
RJ had walked over to grab a weapon, but was stopped by the Woman who asked "What are you doing?"
As RJ turned He found the Woman sitting on the bench in preparation for a bench lift blowing a piece of bubble gum.
RJ didn't respond because He was confused, causing an awkward silence. Breaking the silence the Woman sighed asking "This is your first time in the Training Room isn't it?"
RJ nodded His head in agreement, the Woman stood up taking RJ away from Her training station to an empty box and said in an authoritative voice. "Open your Tempad."
RJ had looked at His watch, seeing His file again with the arrow function Miss Minutes installed, but this time a new button was placed in the image of an arm showing off muscle.
The Woman had been looking over RJ's shoulder which was hard for her since she was 5 '7 and RJ was 5' 8. Once Her eyes fixated on the button She said to RJ ``Open it.``
Without hesitation RJ did just that pressing the button. Whereas just like for the Woman the training dummy, weight set, and weapon stand appeared in his own box right next to the Woman who helped him.
Once She saw that She left RJ to his own devices, what surprised Her was that RJ spoke out to Her "Thanks for the help." The Woman was surprised by the thanks and just simply walked away and as She did RJ had a once over at Her Assets again thinking 'GYatt.'
After refocusing on Training RJ started with the training Dummy by simply punching it. But to RJ's surprise the Dummy reacted dodging the punch and then gave RJ a left hook which connected knocking him back.
What RJ found strange was that the punch had connected, but RJ couldn't feel any pain in his chin where the punch had connected.
RJ was surprised and decided to attack again, but this time leading with a front kick only for the Dummy to dodge again and instead of countering with a punch again it countered with a crane kick hitting RJ again knocking Him back.
RJ again felt angry and then suddenly the System appeared showing a Mission Prompt.
"Mission: Excel In Training
Description: Show the Dummy whos the Boss land Five consecutive Punches
Difficulty: 2
Rewards: 5MP
Failure: Embarrassment"
RJ felt happy that He now had an excuse to beat the shit out of this Dummy. Even though no one would understand He felt justified to work harder.
After ten minutes of constant hits from the Dummy and constant counters RJ had hit the ground sweating, panting for air mumbling 'Damn Dummy.'
As RJ was mumbling a figure stood above Him it was a woman for obvious reasons and it seemed to be the Woman who helped him out before dropping a towel on his face hearing Her say "Make sure to wipe the sweat off and take some time to rest."
As RJ took the towel off His face he stood up seeing the Woman walk away looking sweaty and bothered. RJ was hoping to ask for the Woman's name, but decided against it since they were both tired.
RJ began to leave after declaring war on the Dummy. At the declaration the Dummy stood still, but RJ felt the Dummy laughing at Him.
Out of anger RJ had hit the button that turned on the training area and also turned it off which RJ had no idea cause He was simply letting off some steam.
After that RJ used the search function trying to find His way home. Which thankfully the Tempad knew and as RJ followed the orange arrow He contemplated on how He could hit the Dummy thinking on every way He and the Dummy moved and attacked until.
BAM
A similar feeling happened when RJ ran into Ouroboros thankfully Ouroboros wasn't holding machine parts and was just holding his book. RJ actually didn't fall this time instead it was just Ouroboros on the ground picking up His glasses.
As Ouroboros was struggling, RJ had helped him up by giving Him his glasses as He did. Where once they were on, Ouroboros had instantly remembered RJ's face saying "Oh! You're the guy I didn't tell my name to, but still knew!"
As RJ was trying to understand Oroboros, RJ instead had a thought and asked "Tell me Ouroboros can someone learn the Training Dummy's fighting pattern?"
'Since Ouroboros basically made the TVA He should probably know.' thought RJ sadly He didn't say. "I'm sorry, but I programmed the Dummies to develop a fighting style similar to the ones fighting it."
RJ felt sad until something clicked in His mind. Just like how Ouroboros said RJ was always the first to strike, leaving the Dummy to always counter.
Through this a second question escaped RJ's mouth. "Then is there a way to make the Dummy start fighting first instead of waiting?"
Ouroboros placed his thumb on His chin in a pensive look and then responded. "I don't know, but I'm interested now."
RJ smiled and left Ouroboros with a salm wave stating "Hey. We should eat some time to talk. Cause I think we could be great friends."
RJ then followed the arrows after hearing Ouroboros' response "Hmmm. I've never had a friend before that actually wanted to hang out with me."
RJ took that as a Yes and began walking away to his house which was in fact an apartment containing the basic necessities. With a Bed, a dresser, Table to eat food, a Kitchen and a restroom with a shower inside it.
RJ felt like eating something, but decided to just take a shower first. RJ intended it to be just a five minute shower, but that easily turned into a ten minute one from the water's stress relieving properties because 'it's been a long day.'
RJ had finished his shower and dried off going to his dresser which inside had the same top and bottom which was the same suit he's been wearing all day. But the one he was wearing was covered in sweat. Thankfully there was a normal white shirt which RJ put on with some Boxers.
Which then reminded RJ of that Mysterious Women's sport clothing She wore. After thinking about it the System showed a panel with an item.
"Name: Mr. Fanatics Training Wardrobe
Description: A sports wear outfit made to be easy to move in by The Reed Richards.
Purchase: Yes No"
RJ didn't have a problem with buying this item since it was only Ten MP, but RJ still wanted to save up till He ethier gets more Before beating the shit out of that Dummy or after beating the shit out of it. So RJ chose to wait until one of those things happened.
After making a game plan and sending the panel away RJ opened his fridge finding nothing but two eggs. "Nothing like breakfast for dinner" exclaimed RJ.
After finding a frying pan RJ had made Eggs and started eating them until He heard His Tempad beeping.
Before taking a bite of His cooked Eggs RJ jumped out of His chair and ran towards His bed where he left his dirty clothing on with his Tempad on top of it.
RJ had opened a new message like before with the orange envelope, but this time Miss Minutes didn't jump out. Instead an orange panel appeared.
"Greetings to all new cadets of the Minutemen. I am the Head of the Minutemen Qx-091 and I'm here to tell all soon cadets that you will all be paired with one captain and four cadets [including you] forming a Squad. Each captain will be sending a notification in the next ten minutes so please stay awake because each Captain can be different from the last."
After that, RJ grew more interested in the Minutemen because they seemed different to how they're portrayed in the LOKI series. RJ also grew some respect for Qx-091's words RJ's Squad Captain had sent a message.
RJ grabbed his Tempad taking it to the table to eat the eggs He cooked so that they wouldn't go cold. As RJ ate He read the new message.
"This is Captain AR-274 or if you prefer my code name Klaus. Squad members SI-624, HP-284, RJ-213, ZZ-832. Are all to report at the Training Room at Five hundred hours."
The message was short and sweet just how RJ liked it after reading the message RJ had set an alarm to wake Him up at 4:30 am so He could get there and get a chance to try and beat up the Dumbass Dummy.
