Chapter 2: Assignment

After the thought of dying so weirdly and without point Ranger jumped out the restroom screaming at Cassey "Cassey Where is B15's office?"

Cassey had honestly enough of Rangers ramblings and nearly raised his voice. "Go!....Follow the signs."

Ranger was surprised that the chilled, lazy, and mainly scared all the time Cassy acted that way towards Him. But Ranger couldn't blame him and just started running when He noticed the time limit going down on the System panel saying "9:29."

As Ranger began running He screamed to Cassey "Thanks!"

Cassey was still confused at why now Ranger began to run and wondered if it was because Ranger was scared of Him "Maybe I should be more authoritative around others." Was what Cassey's last thought was.

As Ranger ran around trying to both look at signs to find B15's office and watching the decreasing time limit which was now Eight minutes and twelve seconds. Ranger ended up rushing into someone carrying a box of machines and books.

After running into this person both Ranger and the stranger fell to the ground. As Ranger tried to get used to what had happened He looked up hearing the Man speak. "Gosh. That was interesting."

Ranger had a look at this man. He wore nothing special, just a brown shirt with brown jeans over his right chest pocket and saw three flower-like images intertwining with each other. Ranger had a thought to who this might be, but didn't want to assume until Ranger reached the mysterious man's face with him being. Asian, Black hair and most importantly wore black glasses. It was Ouroboros.

Ranger wanted to act like a schoolgirl by looking at him because Ouroboros was one of Ranger's favorite side characters in the LOKI TV series. But decided against it seeing the time only being Five minutes and two seconds remaining.

Without a moment to waste Ranger jumped up apologizing stating "I'm sorry Ouroboros, But B15 is expecting me."

As Ranger had left Ouroboros responded "Oh it's okay make sure you get there B15 can get serious about these things." Ranger agreed and ran like his life depended on it cause it did.

After Ranger left Ouroboros had a realization "Huh. I don't think I've told Him my name?" Ouroboros didn't let that mind him and started picking up the dropped parts of machinery and his book on the TVA guide book.

After meeting Ouroboros, Ranger was running still looking for B15's Office only to not find it after following the signs with only Two minutes and fifty seconds to spare as He looked up seeing the counting down timer.

Ranger, then out of being tired, stood still to rest before continuing His run for B15's office. As Ranger exhaled for more air suddenly a noticeable sound echoed throughout Ranger's Ears.

Ranger had then fallen to his knees wondering if this was how it was to die and only on the stop now once this Dream Like World had started for him. As Ranger had fallen to his knees He had heard a voice.

"RJ? What are you doing?"

The sounds of this voice perked Ranger's ears reminding Him of the caregiving, authoritative women she was and began to turn around seeing a Black heavy set woman with black hair.

"B15?" Ranger curiously stared into the annoyed eyes of B15. Who had no Idea what was going on until She eyed the report in Ranger's hand. B15 then walked towards Ranger taking away the report telling Ranger in the pross "Follow me."

As B15 started to walk away Ranger regained consciousness from nearly passing out from running and sweating around the entire TVA.

As both B15 and Ranger walked, B15 took Ranger to a flat platform in what seemed to be in the middle of the TVA. Where once both of them were on it began to move upwards. As this Elevator went up it revealed the city of the TVA with all the buildings and flying cars reminding Ranger of the iconic Star Wars.

Ranger continued to stare until B15 had coughed to get his attention which didn't work the first time. Ranger eventually turned to see B15 asking "Is something wrong?"

B15 simply scoffed and asked "Did you see yourself?"

Ranger took a minute to process what B15 had meant by 'See yourself.' Until He remembered that in the second season several TVA Minutemen were having Identity problems with them having Variants. Ranger decided to use this knowledge to His advantage saying "Yes."

B15 then took a minute of silence because She had also seen her Variant self as a Doctor and after remembering that time B15 had asked Ranger "What were you?"

Ranger had a response prepared, but felt like telling the truth was the most appropriate. "I was a game developer. I made 'seemed' to make Games for children who seemed to enjoy the games as much as I-Variant created."

B15 was at first suspicious with Ranger's words, but decided to play it off cause She once was in Ranger's position if not for a little while.

B15 then Thanked Ranger for staying in service even after seeing himself helping others. B15 soon handed the report back to Ranger telling Him "and I hope you can come to terms with your decision."

After B15's statement the elevator stopped leading to a hallway where B15 started walking with Ranger following pursuit.

At the end of the hallway was a door that once opened revealed a small office with stacks of paperwork that needed to be finished. B15 soon made room on Her desk so that she could sit down and look at the standing TVA Agent and asked "Why'd you make that report?"

Ranger was scared by that question cause He didn't know how to respond until suddenly the System prompt shoved its way in his face.

"Congratulation on completing your Mission you have been rewarded Ten MP and a chance at -"

Before the System could finish the System started to buffer and a new prompt appeared. "Congratulations to the User for discovering a secret Mission!

Mission prompt: Discover a way to increase B15's idea of you through words

Difficulty:3

Rewards: 5 MP

Failure:Nothing happens"

Ranger took a relaxed sigh seeing the prompt saying He wouldn't die from this mission if he had chosen to fail it on purpose. He was both tired and angry, but unlike last time at everything. Ranger's rage was purely focussed on only the System.

As Ranger thought of the appropriate response He had honestly given up and started to spew nonsense. "I honestly chose it for the sacrifice most of the Tony Starks did for both stopping Thanos and bringing the second half of the universe back in order. It proved that just because a Rich Egocentric man had his falling Tony Stark still had a heart of Steel."

After spewing the bullshit Ranger had said on the fly a notification came from the system "Congratulations User. You have completed the secret mission and have been rewarded with Five MP."

"Wow, my bullshiting worked?' thought Ranger as He looked at the System prompt. As Ranger seemed to be looking at the prompt to B15 it was just Him staring either to her or into the air.

B15 took a second until bringing Ranger back to reality calling out "Miss Minutes."

Suddenly a huge Coin like being usurped out of Ranger's watch which from His knowledge was called a Tempad. "Hey Y'all!" said Miss Minutes eagerly.

Ranger was spooked very openly to where B15 had to respond "I know Miss Minutes went AWOL, but now She works for us so there is no need to worry."

Through B15's words, Ranger calmed down and B15 asked an important question. "What do you wish to do for the TVA?"

With that Ranger went into his thinking world again trying to see if a mission prompt appeared. Thankfully it didn't. Rager had then easily responded "I want to work with Cassey behind the scenes.

B15 and Miss Minutes were surprised By Ranger's answer which they both assumed would be to join the other MInutemen. B15 had then exposed Her thoughts at what Ranger said and then asked "If it's alright with you can I choose which part of the TVA you join?"

Ranger didn't see the harm in it and allowed it saying "Sure I trust you."

After that B15 dismissed Ranger out of the room to talk with Miss Minutes and said "I believe I should place Him in with the Minutemen, but what do you think?"

Miss Minutes looked surprised at B15 for the sudden advice and then just simply spoke from her digitized heart. "Well you're the boss, all I am is just a machine so I can't really help you."

B15 wasn't shocked at Miss Minute's response and instead steeled her decision asking "please show me RJ-213 file."

Miss Minute shortly disappeared to only reappear with an orange file. That B15 opened showing Rangers file showing his Name and current standing inside the TVA.

"Name: RJ-213

Occupation:unemployed"

B15 wonders how Ranger wasn't found out yet He in B15 eyes was a soldier in the making. But seeing that he wasn't employed made B15 face reality that she had struck gold. B15 then told Miss Minutes to place Ranger into the Minutemen as fast as possible.

After Miss Minutes sent the notice out, the head guard of The Minutemen Qx-091 received a file with Miss Minutes telling the captain about Ranger and the recording of his report which gave the Captain something He hadn't felt in a long time interest in a new recruit.

Soon later Miss Minutes would re-arrive back to B15 to tell Her the news of Rangers acceptance into the Minutemen. Which hardly ever happened ever since the identity crises The Minutemen ended up choosing a leader who would both work with the new TVA and work out of the necessity of the Minutemen in general.

B15 was proud of her choice, hoping that Ranger would agree with it.

During the conversation that B15 and Miss Minutes had. Ranger was walking back to his desk wondering if He could even find it at this point. Once Ranger reached the elevator Ranger opened the System panel that He had to shut to talk right.

Once Ranger saw the System panel open up His eyes were filled with a sense of achievement with it reading.

"User has gained rewards for succeeding in the Mission Deliver The Report. User has gained 10 MP. And has gained enlistment into the Minutemen."

Rangers sense of achievement soon faded seeing that He was part of the MInutemen and decided to think that the System was playing a trick on Him and decided to ignore the obvious warning going to the new screen that had opened itself up after Ranger had given that Bullshit speech of His and before the appearance of the psycho killer AI.

Ranger had asked the System to reopen that Panel which it did. Revealing a new Panel.

As Ranger stared at this He saw that He had collected a little amount compared to how much His heart had hurt during that whole experience. Ranger then instantly thought of what He could get out of these few points He has. And as if the System had read His mind a Panel appeared in front of Ranger.

This panel, unlike the normal ones where this one was Green instead of Red. Ranger didn't pay any mind thinking "Huh. Must be for the aesthetic."

While staring at these two different buttons Ranger decided to press the first one revealing a huge list.

Adamantium Claws: 1,542,000MP

Odin's Sword: 27,000,000MP

Staff of One:14,000MP

Ten Rings:6,000,000MP

Mjölnir: 2,000Mp

The list went on Not in alphabetical order or an order based on least amount of value to the most value. What disturbed Ranger was that Mjolnir was the least among the top objects with only costing 2,000MP. Ranger had a theory, but It needed to be tested on the next list.

Ranger soon had closed the item list only to open the next option, the Skills list.

The list just like the last one doesn't follow any order. But Ranger learned that his assumption was correct about Thor's Hammer Mjolnir. "I need to buy both Mjolnir and Thor's Worthiness."

Ranger knew that something wasn't right with how cheap Mjolnir was. And He had thought correctly that one could buy Mjolnir, but they couldn't wield it without being worthy.

Ranger decided to wonder if any of these things were within His price range. WHich than in a heart beat the system sent a list that was in a Two columns like font with Items on the left and Skills on the right.

Ranger was angry at the few choices the System gave Him once He had asked the System for why there was a low amount of choices it gave a half assed answer stating "lIke the user the System is adapting."

Ranger didn't care any more and looked at his options and then began choosing.
