As they strapped me to the cold metal table, I didn't struggle. Why would I? Death was finally here to cradle me in her arms—or so I hoped. I just felt a wave of calmness take over me. Death or powers , let's see how it goes. The guard raised an eyebrow at my unusual compliance but said nothing, probably thinking, Another one broken. Easy work today.
I'm not an optimistic person. But for some reason , I just hoped for something good to happen finally for once. Not like it can get any worse , right?
The golden serum shimmered in the syringe, an almost ethereal glow betraying the horrors it held within. The lead scientist grinned, his bloodshot eyes twitching with anticipation as he plunged the needle into my arm. Clearly they are testing this on me to find out side effects. I guess I've outlived their curiosity. Not like they can't find another freak to take my place. Or maybe they have already found one. That's not a problem for me to worry about anymore.
It burned like a motherfucker. Imagine molten lead coursing through your veins, setting every nerve alight. I didn't scream, though. I clenched my teeth so hard I thought they might shatter, my body convulsing against the restraints. Pain was an old friend, but this?
This was worse than getting NTR'd by your childhood sweetheart, then forgiving and marrying her, only to find out she was getting run a train on a daily basis by the lowest of the low with a satisfied grin after your marriage. And none of the kids belong to you.
The pain felt like millions of bullet ants were tearing your flesh and skin bit by bit as they chew through your very being. Pain is an old friend for me, yet this pain is like a million times worse.
Am I dying? Is it finally going to end? I hope it does. A wise man once told me, "Death is not the problem; it is the solution of life. All your problems, duties, and promises fade away when you die, leaving nothing but calmness to contemplate your life." I don't fuckin feel calm .
"Look at him twitch," one of the guards snickered, leaning lazily against the wall. "Bet he'll pop like the last one."
"Five bucks says he lasts a minute longer," his buddy added.
Oh, you'll regret that bet, asshole.
The serum tore through me, a hurricane of agony and power unraveling something deep inside. I felt it then—the presence. The entity that had whispered sweet nothings in my mind for so long.
"Told you it'd be fun," the voice drawled lazily, like a cat stretching after a nap. "Now, let's give these meatbags a show."
I was burning up from within like the MCU Extremis soldiers do before exploding. The cracks started to form on my skin—golden light seeping through the fissures like magma beneath the earth's crust. The guards stopped laughing. One of them muttered, "Oh, shit," as the ground began to tremble. I let out a guttural roar, the table beneath me melting into slag.
I let out a breath of pure energy that blasted through the ceiling, causing the whole place to start crumbling down. These idiots finally realized the gravity of the situation as they started to run around like headless chickens, trying to escape the underground base.
The soldiers were escorting them out when one of them shouted, "Stop! We need to secure this specimen's body as well. We can synthesize a better formula for the new serum."
One of the soldiers replied, "Colonel Stryker will take care of it after this thing blows up. We can get at least a few chunks of him, hopefully."
That bastard then replied, "Then can you sever its arm or something before it explodes? If we get nothing later, the boss would kill us."
I just felt nothing listening to this. What else can you expect from these monsters? I closed my eyes and just let go of everything. The explosion was instant, obliterating the lab in a flash of golden energy. Walls crumbled, alarms blared, and those smug scientists were vaporized before they could even scream. Poetic justice.
But I didn't stop there. A brilliant light emerges from within me as another huge explosion goes off, engulfing everything nearby the lab.
As the dust settled, the so-called saviors of the world arrived, their silhouettes cutting through the haze. Thor, golden locks flowing like he was shooting a shampoo commercial, stepped forward, spinning Mjolnir.
"Villain!" he bellowed. "Face the might of—"
Before he could finish, I exhaled. Just a breath. A golden wave shot forward, erasing him mid-sentence. Mjolnir clattered to the ground, the hammer of a god now nothing more than scrap metal. The prince of Asgard felt true primal fear before he was erased from existence. The others froze.
Hulk roared, leaping toward me with primal fury. Big mistake. I raised my hand, and a translucent tendril of energy wrapped around his throat mid-air.
"Down, boy," I said, slamming him into the ground so hard it left a crater. His green skin started to dissolve under the energy's touch, his screams music to my ears. Hulk let out roar but it wasn't full of anger like usual. It was more like pure fear.
Captain America flung his shield at me. I caught it effortlessly, inspecting it like a bored child with a new toy.
"Vibranium, huh?" I muttered before snapping it in half and tossing the pieces aside. "Cheap knockoff."
Iron man blasted the energy field with hundreds of weapons but they yielded no result. He hovered above, his arsenal aimed directly at me. "Stand down!" he shouted. "I'll give you one chance—"
"Save it, Tony," I cut him off, flicking a finger. A beam of golden light lanced upward, slicing through his armor like butter. His chest plate exploded, sending him spiraling to the ground.
As he lay there, sparks flying from his ruined suit, I crouched next to him. "Yo, remember me?" I whispered. His terrified eyes met mine, recognition dawning.
"No..." he croaked.
"Yes," I hissed. "That starving kid you threw into jail. Looks like the scum's beyond help, huh?" I snapped my fingers, and lower half his body just splattered like a baloon full of meat. He screamed in agony as I watched with a gentle smile, his life slowly and painfully escaping his husk. " That was underwhelming."
Doctor Strange appeared next to me, his hands weaving intricate sigils. "By the pwer of Vishanti, I—"
"Blah blah blah," I mocked, waving a hand. His portal were corroded to nothingness as golden chains erupted from the ground to bind me. I yanked him toward me, his face inches from mine.
"Magic? Cute," I said, before crushing his hands in my grip. He screamed as the bones shattered. I flicked and his head was turned into mush as I disgustedly threw his body away.
"Next!" I shouted, laughing maniacally as the remaining heroes hesitated. The Fantastic Four also showed up, Reed Richards stretching his elastic limbs toward me. I grabbed him mid-strike, pulling him apart like taffy. "And You're supposed to be smartest man," I quipped, tossing the pieces aside.
Captain Marvel, charged at me with a yell, only for me to grab her throat and bringing her close to my face. I take of her mask and whistle, " You are the pretty version I guess, much better than Brie larson . I might spare you if you cutely say "Yamete Kudasai, Onii chan!" To which she tried to headbutt me.
I shook my head as I slapped her to the ground. She fell on the ground with a thud, with her ass up. I looked at it and ignored the hentai plots that came to my mind, and crushed her head with a wet squealch. "Maybe in another timeline." I muttered.
With most of the heroes either dead or running for their lives, the government did what it does best: overreact. Three nukes streaked toward the epicenter of destruction. The energy within me flared, consuming them mid-air. The resulting explosion vaporized what little remained of of whatever fuckin state I was in. The land, the people, even the ocean was gone. In their place was just nothing. Just an abyss of horror that was consuming the very fabric of this universe..
I stood at its center, my body disintegrating bit by bit. My skin, my bones, my very essence was being consumed. But I didn't care. For once, I felt… free.
"Good show," the voice drawled, now louder, omnipresent. "But it's not over yet."
It didn't feel peaceful or safe even after the terrifying golden energy has vanished. More like something terrible was about to happen. Every living being across the universe felt it. It was the basic instinct of all living organisms that their death was here.
Many cosmic beings looked at the spectacle while the celestials started rushing towards earth to stop it. But there was one entity that looked at this with a hardened expression. The being had three faces, each displaying different emotions, or more like the very personification of those sentiments. He nodded as if receiving some message, and then slowly started to move towards the universe that was causing this anomaly.
I was dumbfounded as I looked around myself. There was an infinite void around me except the small piece of earth I stood on.. There was absolutely nothing. It felt like I was a game npc who just reached the end area of the game and looking at the abyss. Nothing existed beyond this.
And then I felt it. A connection to the nothingness around me. It felt terrifying but quiet. Then I hear the voice I have grown accustomed to, "How is it? Does my power satisfy you?"
I chuckled and replied, "That was an overkill. Looks like half of USA no longer exists. Not that I care."
The Being spoke seriously, "Your whole universe will no longer exist in a few moments. You didn't awaken my full power, other wise some of the nearby universes would have been gone too. I mean, that guy sealed me up for a reason."
I looked at him with interest and asked, "Who sealed you? Are you some kind of scary demon that was sealed up to protect the multiverse or something?"
He replied nonchalantly, "Sort of. I'm not some lowly demon though. I'm what you would call a singular cosmic entity that represents the nothingness from all things came to be. I'm basically all of you guys dad. Neat right? But the One above all got crazy with building the multiverse which disturbed my peace. So I kinda erased them out of spite. We then kinda fought and he sealed me for a bit somehow. "
I looked the being that spoke such terrifying things as if he was talking about the weather. I cleared my throat and asked, "So….. are you gonna destroy the multiverse again? Am I screwed?"
He laughed and replied, "nah, that's not fun. Been there, done that. I'm just pissed he tried to lock me away and forget about it. So I destroyed this universe to vent. You on the other hand are truly fucked my friend."
I asked calmly, "Give it to me straight."
He replied with laugh, "Relax kiddo, I won't let that grumpy guy who is coming do anything bad to you.
At best, you will be moved to a different universe and become like the five cosmic beings that serve OAA or live as you please without universal destruction. At worst, maybe you'll be erased out of existence and I'll start another multiverse cleaning. It all depends on that fella up there ."
He pointed up and I almost shat my pant watching the freakin living tribunal looking down at us .
The void trembled, and a new figure appeared, towering above me. The Living Tribunal. Three faces, each judging me with expressions of disdain, pity, and rage.
"David Faust," it boomed. "Your actions threaten the balance of this multiverse. Judgment is nigh."
I looked up at the cosmic entity, my face breaking into a grin. "Oh, great. Another cosmic asshole here to ruin my day. Let me guess, you're gonna give me a stern lecture before wiping me out?"
The Tribunal didn't respond. Instead, the void rippled as its judgment began to take form.
"Well, buddy," the entity beside me said, chuckling. "Let's see how this one plays out. Don't die too quickly now, I'm still enjoying the show."
As the Tribunal's power surged, I laughed, my voice echoing through the infinite void, "Fuck my life."
