"Although the idea was correct, unfortunately, we lost and couldn't defeat Thanos," Stephen Strange said. "After Thanos got the Time Stone, he immediately went to Earth. In the end, Earth became a battlefield."
"You mentioned earlier that you would sacrifice Tony to protect the stone. Why did you choose to give up the stone and save Tony when the moment actually came?" Clint Barton walked up to Stephen Strange and asked.
"To be honest, I was quite surprised too," Stephen Strange glanced at Tony Stark beside him and said, "My relationship with him doesn't seem that good, does it?"
"I don't think it's that great either." Tony Stark's view was surprisingly aligned with Stephen Strange's. He even remembered the first time he met Stephen Strange when he had no reason to schedule an appointment, finding him rather unpleasant.
"It's clear that the Time Stone is extremely important to Strange. When it fell into Wong's hands, he was willing to die rather than give up the stone. From this, we can see that the stone is more important to Strange than his own life," Thor said, then turned to Stephen Strange, "Am I right?"
"It seems that way," Stephen Strange confirmed.
"But to save Stark, Strange didn't hesitate to give up the stone. This means, in Strange's eyes, Stark is more important than the stone," Thor burst into laughter. "This implies that Stark is more important to Strange than his own life! The bond between these two men is so sincere and touching! It's worthy of being passed down for generations!"
Both Stephen Strange and Tony Stark had black lines appearing on their foreheads at the same time.
"Let's applaud this touching bond!" Thor himself led the applause.
Clap clap clap!
Warm applause filled the answering space.
"The tenth question begins, please be prepared."
"Among the following characters, who killed Spider-Man Peter Parker's girlfriend, Gwen Stacy?"
"A) Electro Max Dillon"
"B) Sandman Flint Marko"
"C) Green Goblin Harry Osborn"
"D) Venom Eddie Brock"
"For my girlfriend?" Peter Parker looked up at the question, at his current age, he didn't have a clear concept of what a "girlfriend" was.
"I told you, Peter would grow up to be a handsome young man, a heartthrob. Look, it's just as I said. He even has a girlfriend now," Tony Stark said.
"Tony, why are you so excited?" Natasha Romanoff said with a sigh, "Didn't you see that Peter's girlfriend was killed?"
"I saw it, but that won't happen now," Tony Stark appeared entirely unconcerned, "We have so many people, each with their own unique abilities. Since we already know the girl will die, if we can prevent it from happening, that would be a big joke."
"Exactly, no matter who killed Gwen Stacy, from the moment this question appeared in front of us, the future has already been rewritten," Steve Rogers added.
"Electro, Sandman, Green Goblin, Venom—every one of these nicknames sounds impressive..." Stephen Strange asked Nick Fury, "Fury, do you know any of the four options?"
"Never heard of them," Nick Fury shook his head. After a pause, he pointed at Green Goblin, "But the Osborn surname, I do know."
"Osborn Industries, I've heard of it too," Tony Stark said. "Could this Green Goblin have a connection with them?"
"If there happens to be someone named Harry Osborn in Osborn Industries, then it's likely related," Bruce Banner asked Tony Stark, "Tony, is there?"
"I've only had a nodding acquaintance with Norman Osborn. We're not very close, so I don't know much," Tony Stark said, "I'll ask around after we finish the quiz."
"I'll investigate as well," Nick Fury said.
"Other than this Osborn, what about the other three options? Does anyone have any additional information?" Steve Rogers asked.
Everyone in the answering space looked at each other, but no one could provide any useful information.
"It looks like we'll have to guess," Thor shrugged.
"While we don't know much about these four individuals, we can speculate on their abilities based on their nicknames. Combining that with Peter's abilities, it might help us make a choice," Bruce Banner said.
"True, we can see which person's abilities would counter Peter's the most, and that person would have the highest chance of being able to accomplish it," Clint Barton said.
"Electro might have the ability to emit light or electricity, but I personally lean towards electricity," Phil Coulson started guessing, "Because if his ability is electricity, it would create a light effect, making 'Electro-Man' quite fitting. However, if his ability is just emitting light, and it has no relation to electricity, then he'd be 'Light-Man,' not 'Electro-Man.'"
"Why can't it be both emitting light and electricity?" Thor asked.
"Indeed, we can't rule out that possibility, but making so many assumptions now will only confuse our thinking," Tony Stark said. "In a situation where we have no clues and are relying purely on assumptions, it's better to keep it simple."
"The ability to emit electricity is quite powerful and should pose a threat to Peter," Stephen Strange said, glancing at Peter Parker. He added, "But the Electro-Man wouldn't be a match for Peter now, as Peter himself has gained the ability to emit electricity."
"As for Sandman, he should be able to manipulate sand?" Nick Fury joined the discussion. "If that's the case, I feel that this ability has significant limitations. He'd need a sandy environment to use it effectively."
"Or perhaps, that person can transform into sand?" Phil Coulson proposed a new possibility.
"In that case, the limitation related to the 'terrain' would be reduced," Nick Fury said. "But how can this person effectively attack Peter? Once he turns into a pile of sand, Peter's punches or spider silk would have no target."
"This Sandman could also pose a threat to Peter, but in terms of threat level, he might be lower than Electro-Man..." Steve Rogers pondered and said, "I think Electro-Man is still the bigger threat. Getting hit by sand and getting electrocuted are two different concepts."
"That's right, considering Peter's durability, even if he gets hit by sand, it probably won't be a big deal. But with electricity, it can directly damage his body, and that's a different story," Phil Coulson's view aligned with Steve Rogers on this point.
"Then, what about this Green Goblin?" Stephen Strange wondered. "A green devil, something like that?"
"A devil, does such a thing even exist?" Scott Lang expressed skepticism.
"At this point, I think anything is possible. In this world, there are wizards, witches, gods, aliens, dimension lords, cats that swallow universal magic, and so many unbelievable beings," Clint Barton said. "Now, adding a devil is not that surprising."
"If this Green Goblin is indeed something devil-like, then I feel quite uneasy about it," Natasha Romanoff said. "Although I don't know what abilities he has now, I'm certain Peter wouldn't be a match."
"While the possibility of Green Goblin being a devil-like entity is there, I think there's another possibility that's more likely. Green Goblin could be a person who, for some reason, gained certain abilities and earned the nickname 'Green Goblin,'" Scott Lang said. "You can tell from the name 'Green Goblin' that it's clearly a human name. If it were a devil, they're different species, so it doesn't make sense for them to use a human name."
"Perhaps this devil took over the body of someone named Harry Osborn?" Natasha Romanoff suggested. "Body possession, some devils are said to have that ability."
"No, no, no, it's definitely not a devil, but technology," Nick Fury said. "I was once rewarded with a 'Green Goblin hoverboard.' Did you all forget about that? This Green Goblin should be the person who originally owned the Green Goblin hoverboard."
"If that's the case, then this Green Goblin's power should be below Electro-Man's," Steve Rogers said. "Perhaps even below Sandman's."
"But he has an advantage – he can fly," Clint Barton said.
"If it's in the city, this advantage might not be that significant against Peter. Peter's spider silk is incredibly agile. Even though he can't fly, he can easily maneuver against a flying enemy," Steve Rogers said. "From this perspective, I'd rank Green Goblin's power below Electro-Man and Sandman."
"And what about Venom?" Stephen Strange pointed at option D. "This Eddie Brock, his nickname is Venom, is he using venom?"
"What kind of venom? Scorpion venom? Snake venom? Or wasp venom?" Clint Barton nudged Scott Lang with his shoulder. "As an ant-man like you, do scorpions and wasps feel familiar?"
"Not at all," Scott Lang showed a disgusted expression. "And I have nothing to do with them. I fight fair and square, while he uses poison. Come on, what kind of sneaky person uses poison?"
"But using poison is even harder to defend against. It's unpredictable," Bruce Banner thought for a moment and said, "I believe this Venom, the venom he uses, is probably not just ordinary snake or scorpion venom. It's likely something more potent."
"Regardless of what type of venom it is, this Eddie Brock himself shouldn't be that strong. If he were truly powerful, he wouldn't resort to poisoning," Phil Coulson said. "So, he shouldn't pose much of a threat to Peter."
"Not a threat?" Scott Lang immediately expressed his dissent, "I think the most troublesome one is this Venom, Eddie Brock, right? When you're facing other opponents, at least you know who and where they are. But dealing with someone who uses poison, you have to be cautious even when eating. You never know if there's poison in your food."
"We may not know, but I think Peter might know," Phil Coulson said.
"Peter knows about poison?" Scott Lang asked, "How do you know?"
"No, I didn't say Peter knows about poison. What I mean is, I believe Peter has a certain kind of danger-sensing ability," Phil Coulson said. "Do you remember his reaction when the Black Dwarf's ship descended earlier in that video?"
"His hair stood on end!" Nick Fury's eyes lit up, "And he immediately sensed trouble, looked up, and saw the ship. Peter seemed to have a genuine ability to sense the unknown!"
"If that's the case, it does seem plausible," Tony Stark said in a serious tone. "Peter's way of 'getting around' is swinging on his webs through the city. But now, think about it – the city environment is extremely complex. Maybe when you swing from one side of a building to the other, there's a lamppost waiting for you on the other side. Peter's ability to maneuver like this must involve a form of perception that allows him to avoid all dangers."
"It sounds like Venom can be ruled out?" Peter Parker looked up at Tony Stark.
"Yes, kid, Venom should be ruled out," Tony Stark said to Peter Parker. "As for the other three options, you heard our analysis just now. We can't eliminate them any further, it's up to you now."
"I also think Electro-Man is the most powerful, so I'll choose him," Peter Parker said. "I choose A!"
[Answer Incorrect! One year of life deducted!]
"Was I wrong?" Peter Parker didn't feel too disappointed about losing a year of life. After all, he was still quite young.
Before long, the video started playing. The initial scene showed Peter Parker and his girlfriend Gwen Stacy embracing in the darkness of the night. Suddenly, the city lights began to dim, and the city plunged into darkness.
"What's happening over there?" Peter Parker exclaimed in surprise.
Soon, Peter Parker understood what was going on. Near the bridge, several thick power cables burst open, emitting crackling electrical sounds. From the broken cables, electrical currents converged to form a humanoid figure!
"Is that Max?" Gwen Stacy recognized Electro-Man. "He must have cut off the entire city's power supply."
As if confirming Gwen Stacy's words, the speed at which the city went dark accelerated significantly. Looking around, there were hardly any lights left.
"There should be contingency plans for power outages, right?" Peter Parker said. "Some emergency measures."
"At the power plant, the system can be rebooted," Gwen Stacy's thinking was exceptionally clear, and she seemed to understand these circuits. She didn't seem like an ordinary girl at all. "If he severed the transmission cables, there would be no emergency measures."
"How can I stop him?" Peter Parker said with a hint of frustration. "Every time I get close to him, he burns out my web shooters."
"Have you tried directing the electricity into the ground?" Gwen Stacy asked.
"I've tried everything," Peter Parker replied. "Rubber, plastic..."
"Have you tried magnetizing the electricity?" Gwen Stacy came up with another idea.
"I haven't tried that," Peter Parker admitted.
"Well, do you remember eighth-grade natural science class?" Gwen Stacy chuckled. "If you use a battery to magnetize a nail..."
"It will create a charge," Peter Parker finished Gwen Stacy's sentence.
"Exactly," Gwen Stacy confirmed.
"This Peter doesn't look like our Peter at all!" After watching for a while, Tony Stark couldn't help but speak. "He looks completely different from our Peter!"
"While people's appearances may change from childhood to adulthood, they wouldn't change to this extent. This is clearly two different individuals. Moreover, some basic features won't change, like going from a high nose bridge to a flat one, or from double eyelids to single eyelids. From these characteristics, we can tell that the Spider-Man in the video and the Spider-Man in front of us are definitely two different people," Bruce Banner added.
"From the previous conversation, we can confirm that this person is Peter Parker, not someone else. So, is this another parallel world?" Steve Rogers said. "The previous parallel worlds were numbered up to 5, so let's call this one Parallel World 6."
"Take a good look. Although this Spider-Man has no relation to you, he's already Spider-Man, and he could be considered your 'predecessor.' Watch how Spider-Man fights, how he takes down bad guys," Tony Stark told Peter Parker.
"I will, Mr. Stark," Peter Parker nodded firmly.
With a plan in mind to deal with the supervillain, the Spider-Man from the video wasted no time and quickly headed towards the city.
"Don't panic, everyone. Return to your vehicles! Sit inside your cars and stay calm!" By the time Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy arrived, a police officer was using a megaphone to shout instructions.
The police officer turned to see Peter Parker and couldn't contain his excitement. "Spider-Man!"
However, he forgot about the megaphone in front of him, and as a result, the booming sound almost deafened Peter Parker's ears.
"My father is Captain George Stacy of the 19th Precinct..." Gwen Stacy began to explain to the police officer.
"I know who he is," the officer interrupted. "What should we do?"
"Cross-connect the cables," Gwen Stacy instructed. "And use pure copper wires."
"Is my voice louder than usual right now?" Peter Parker asked loudly because his ears had just been blasted by the megaphone from up close, making his voice significantly louder.
"Yes," Gwen Stacy confirmed.
Once the police officer was ready, Gwen Stacy and Peter Parker went to the side to conduct their experiment.
"Your suit will conduct electricity to the ground," Gwen Stacy said, using two metal clips to clamp Peter Parker's hands together. Suddenly, a series of crackling sounds and sparks erupted between them.
"Okay, that's good. Try it out, quickly!" Peter Parker was eager to see the results of the experiment.
Gwen Stacy grabbed a bunch of keys and tossed them onto Peter Parker's wrist, and the keys immediately adhered to his arm.
"Alright, it's working," Peter Parker said.
"That's why you only got second place back then," Gwen Stacy said with some satisfaction.
Snap!
At this moment, the street lamp by the roadside suddenly burst, indicating that Electro-Man Max Dillon's actions were already affecting the area.
"I have to go," Peter Parker intended to stop Max Dillon.
"I'm coming with you," Gwen Stacy insisted.
"No, you stay here," Peter Parker immediately rejected, knowing very well that it would be incredibly dangerous to have his girlfriend along. He couldn't possibly take her with him.
"I want to go," Gwen Stacy persisted.
"It's too dangerous."
"I've read the instructions for the power grid, I know how to reboot the system. I'm going with you! You know you need me!"
"Alright, alright, you can come with me," Peter Parker pointed to the open trunk of a nearby car. "Close it."
Gwen Stacy didn't suspect a thing, reaching out to close the trunk. However, as her hand landed on the trunk, a glob of webbing shot out, sticking her hand to the trunk.
"Sorry, iloveyou, don't hate me!" Peter Parker shot out a strand of webbing, leaped into the air, and swung into the night sky.
"Peter!" Gwen Stacy yelled out in frustration, only realizing after she yelled that she had just revealed her boyfriend's identity. She quickly covered her mouth.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Huge currents began to rampage through the night sky, striking like thunderbolts, destroying the city.
Whether it was the magnificent skyscrapers, the expensive cars, or the smooth asphalt roads, in the face of the thick currents as wide as tree trunks, they all seemed as fragile as paper, easily destroyed by a gentle touch, collapsing instantly.
Swinging on his webs, Peter Parker quickly arrived at the scene, at the location where the currents were running rampant.
Crackle! Crackle!
The electrical currents crackled incessantly like lightning.
At the center of those lightning strikes was a shocking face.
It was a gigantic face spanning across a skyscraper, formed by the combination of lights from different offices.
Normally, this face might have been considered a work of art, but now, this face was a demon that was consuming and destroying the city.
"Do you see me, Spider-Man?" the electro-face asked Peter Parker, who had just landed on a water tower. "It's time to bring fate to an end."
As the words fell, the electrified face suddenly transformed into a current and surged back into the night sky. Peter Parker knew it was Electro-Man Max Dillon. He immediately used his webbing to swing after the current.
