Chapter 111: He Saw His Face

Having dealt with the police officers who were destined to be bystanders, the Winter Soldier strode down the road, holding his submachine gun, searching for Natasha Romanoff's trail.

"Fire on both the upper and lower roads, civilians are under threat! Repeat, civilians are under threat!" As the Winter Soldier approached a car, he heard a voice speaking, albeit very quietly, but he still heard it.

The Winter Soldier crouched quietly, pulling out a round bomb from his back and tossing it to the ground in the direction of the voice. When the bomb reached the source of the sound, everyone realized that there was no one there; it was just a tape recorder playing the sound.

"Not bad, she truly deserves to join the Avengers in the future, quite clever," Tony Stark praised inside the answering space.

"The tactics are indeed good," Bruce Banner first praised Natasha Romanoff's wit but then poured cold water on it, "but the Winter Soldier is too powerful, and Romanoff's chances of defeating him are slim."

"That's right, when absolute strength is present, any strategy is futile," Steve Rogers gave the same assessment as Bruce Banner.

Boom!

A loud noise echoed as the Winter Soldier's bomb exploded, smoke and flames filled the air.

Natasha Romanoff seized the perfect timing. While the Winter Soldier's attention was drawn by the explosion, she sneaked up from behind and tried to strangle him with a metal wire. However, the Winter Soldier effortlessly threw her off.

All the effort Natasha Romanoff had put into this scheme was broken so easily by the Winter Soldier.

Thrown to the ground, Natasha Romanoff quickly threw a small disc at the Winter Soldier's metal arm. An electric shock surged, causing the Winter Soldier's arm to temporarily malfunction and hang down. Taking this opportunity, Natasha made her escape.

However, the Winter Soldier's arm malfunction was only momentary, lasting only a few seconds. He clenched his fist, swung his metal arm, and restored its functionality, continuing the pursuit of Natasha Romanoff.

"Get out of the way! Get out of the way!" Natasha Romanoff shouted, warning pedestrians as she fled.

Bang!

In the next moment, a bullet pierced a nearby car window and hit Natasha Romanoff's shoulder. She quickly hid under a car, gasping for breath.

Gasping for air, Natasha heard footsteps behind her. As she turned her head, she saw the Winter Soldier jumping onto a car, aiming his submachine gun at her.

Just as it seemed Natasha Romanoff was about to meet her end, Steve Rogers charged forward with his shield held high. The Winter Soldier temporarily shifted his attention from Natasha and punched Steve Rogers, sending him tumbling.

Da da da da!

The Winter Soldier resumed shooting at Steve Rogers, who blocked all the bullets with his shield. While the Winter Soldier was changing his magazine, Steve Rogers took the chance to kick the submachine gun out of his hand.

Quickly, the Winter Soldier drew a pistol, and the two of them engaged in close combat again. These two super-soldiers were truly extraordinary; their movements were so fast that normal people couldn't keep up. Their punches and kicks were incredibly powerful.

While the Winter Soldier seemed to have the upper hand in this initial skirmish, unfortunately for him, Steve Rogers had superpowers.

As a super-soldier himself, the Winter Soldier was unable to defend against Steve Rogers' "anyone can catch the shield and throw it back" superpower. In the next moment, he swiftly shot the shield back at the Winter Soldier.

Perhaps because the Winter Soldier had been using his superpower for too long, he wanted to rely on his own fists. So, when the shield returned to him, he didn't catch it but dodged to the side. With a clang, the shield embedded itself in a car.

Steve Rogers charged forward with his fists, and the Winter Soldier pulled out a knife from his back. They were once again locked in close combat.

The two of them were indeed super-soldiers; their movements were so fast that it was almost impossible to follow. In a few seconds, the Winter Soldier gained the upper hand and grabbed Steve Rogers by the face, tossing him away.

At that moment, the Winter Soldier's face mask fell off.

As the Winter Soldier stood up from the ground and slowly turned around, a face with sharp and firm features appeared before everyone.

"Bucky!" Steve Rogers exclaimed in shock inside the answering space.

He had always believed that his friend died after falling from the train, but he never expected that upon awakening, he would see his friend again.

"Bucky, you're not dead!" Steve Rogers' face lit up with joy. "This is incredible! Absolutely incredible!"

"Bucky?" In the video, Steve Rogers was also astonished by the face of this man who could spell his name backward.

"Who is Bucky?" However, Bucky didn't even recognize his own name. He had no idea that "Bucky" was such an impressive name.

Not only did he not remember his name, but he also didn't recognize Steve Rogers. Without any hesitation, Bucky took out his gun and was about to shoot Steve Rogers, who was still immersed in the shock of Bucky's resurrection, and hadn't recovered yet.

Just as Steve Rogers was about to get shot, Sam Wilson flew in with his wings, kicking Steve Rogers away.
