The fight was a tempest, a maelstrom of raw power and survival instinct as four brave figures waged war against the monstrous behemoth. Despite the beast's terrifying size and strength, the quartet held their ground, displaying a blend of fearlessness and desperation that was a spectacle in itself.
Gorgon, his hooved legs digging into the ground, launched himself at the behemoth, his grip tight around a mace whose glimmering surface reflected the ferocity in his eyes. With a battle cry that reverberated off the walls, he swung his weapon towards the beast. His attack was a lightning bolt that split the air, a show of raw, primal strength that connected with the beast's armored form. However, the beast merely shrugged it off, barely shifting its stance as it blocked the attack with an effortless lift of one muscular arm.
However, Gorgon's attack was not in vain. It provided the perfect distraction for Karnak, who seized the opportunity with a tactician's precision. In the wake of the beast's distraction, he darted towards it, his swift and agile movements a sharp contrast to Gorgon's brute force. Targeting the beast's arms, he delivered a rapid series of blows, his fists and feet connecting with the hard exoskeleton with a series of bone-jarring thuds. As quickly as he had moved in, he retreated, leaving the beast confused and disoriented.
The creature, caught off guard by Karnak's sudden retreat, tried to regain its footing, but something was amiss. It staggered, its arms seemingly unresponsive to its commands. A guttural roar of fury ripped from its throat as it lashed out, barreling towards a fiery-haired woman—Medusa. Caught by surprise, she froze for a brief moment. Yet, before the charging beast could reach her, a giant bulldog—Lockjaw—materialized in front of her, his teeth bared.
In an instant, both Medusa and the titan were gone, teleported away by Lockjaw. A moment of respite, a fleeting breath of relief before Medusa reappeared, her hair moving as though it had a life of its own. It slithered and twisted, wrapping around the beast's legs like chains of crimson silk, pulling it off balance and sending it crashing to the ground.
A disoriented roar echoed through the room as the beast struggled against the unyielding grip of Medusa's hair. Then, as abruptly as they had wound around the creature, they released their hold, slithering back to their owner as Lockjaw and the beast materialized once more, a safe distance away. The beast fell with a thud, disoriented by the rapid shift in surroundings.
"Quick, get rid of those things! Lockjaw has bought us some time!" Medusa's command sliced through the chaos, rekindling the fighting spirit of the beleaguered Inhumans. Even as she issued her order, the Swarm continued to flood the room like a biblical plague, their numbers seeming to multiply with each passing second.
The Inhumans fought back with fervor. Energy blasts, elemental attacks, and physical blows rained down on the Swarm, keeping them at bay. However, the sheer numbers of the Swarm, coupled with their relentless onslaught, was proving too much to handle. The Inhumans were tiring, their powers gradually failing them. Yet, they persisted, their resolve unwavering in the face of impending doom.
Amidst the frenzied combat, the casualties began to pile up. A man, bravely fending off the Swarm, had his throat ripped open by a Swarm member who had managed to leap onto him. The creature's deadly mandibles found their mark, and within seconds, the man fell, gurgling and choking on his own blood.
Medusa, her eyes aflame with rage, acted swiftly. Her prehensile hair shot out like a deadly spear, impaling the monster and sending it hurtling towards its brethren. However, the victory was short-lived. The fallen man's body began to convulse violently, reshaping into an ungodly cocoon. Within seconds, another member of the Swarm emerged from the grotesque husk, launching itself towards a woman who was launching spears of ice in defense.
The woman's scream of agony echoed through the room as the Swarm member ripped off her leg. Her icy spears dissipated as she collapsed, her face a mask of shock and pain. The creature roared triumphantly, holding its grisly trophy aloft before joining the relentless wave of its swarm.
This gruesome sight only hardened Medusa's resolve. She would not let the sacrifice of her people be in vain. With a whip-like motion, she sent her living hair towards the newborn monster, tearing it apart before it could inflict more damage. As she fought, she ordered Lockjaw to teleport some of the injured and the vulnerable away from the battlefield, away from the monstrous tide that threatened to overwhelm them all.
Every fallen Inhuman was another loss, another painful reminder of the consequences of this brutal onslaught. Yet, they could not afford to falter, not when their very survival was at stake. The fight grew increasingly desperate, their defense becoming a battle of attrition as the Swarm grew stronger with every passing second.
