Chapter 2: World of Magic

Its been three years since i've been reborn into this world.

The Initial excitement has been died down as i have spend half a year lying on a crib cycling through eat, sleep, poop, apart from the occassional stroll on the garden with father and mother.

Whats troubling was that the maids kept rushing over to me the moment i poop and it was very embarassing, on top of that they comment my flushed red face as cute.

But at some point it all became normal.

The language here is spoken like english but written in some incomprehensible way but i quickly got a grasp on it, but my undeveloped vocal cords made everything i say sound babbling to the maids.

I started crawling after about six months old

and light walking at around one years old.

I've gotten a firm grip on my situation, i am the second son of Count Magnus Emberfall and Countess Elena Emberfall, The Emberfall County is a very prosperous County and have a bustling city with trades and commerce as well as holds historical significance to the founding of the kingdom.

I also have an elder brother, the first son Owen Emberfall.

Brother owen is 8 years older than me and is currently at home training for entrance test for the academy, children of nobles are required to attend the academy at the age of 12, but the entrance test determines which academy they can enter, as the first son of count Emberfall, he is trying to enter the most prestegious academy in the capital, the Arcane Lumina Academy.

"Brother, when can i use magic ?"

"Dont be anxious luke, you only started forming your mana core, it will take time for you to draw mana from it, maybe in two more years"

"But i can feel mana"

"Oh, how do you feel?"

"Its like light, like sunlight!"

"...Hmm, light huh?, your prominent element might be light. Look luke, i have learnt appraisal skill from father, thats why i know your mana core is not complete, just wait a bit, you can do it in the future, but for now, you can come see me practicing."

"Haaa, ok."

Unlike my past world where magic is fiction, this world has magic based on seven attributes or elements namely earth, fire, water, wind, lightening and two special attributes light and darkness. Light and darkness are special because one has purifying effect while other is corrosive, one gives life while other takes it.

I first witnessed magic is when elena used magic to heal my scratches when i fell down.

From then on i tried using magic recalling all the magic i seen on anime and comics, but nothing happened and i found out that to use magic humans needs to establish an incorporeal mana core inside them, but anyone can create magic skills with their imagination and talent combined with their affinity to their attribute however they want.

Inherrently everyone is capable of using all seven elements but one wont be able to excert controll over all seven attributes, it is the norm and the adviced method is to first identify your prominent attribute and focus on a single attribute. People who can excert controll over morethan one attributes are called geniuses and revered by all.

My brother Owen has fire and lightning as prominent attributes, both are offensive and destructive ones. Count magnus was a well known lightning mage who wields a lightning sword and countess elena was a light and water mage also called a life mage as light and water attributes are often used for healing and purification.

Since magic is here, like all, fantasy worlds there are Beasts as well, beasts are naturally evolved to accomodate mana, different from humans, beasts has a physical mana core and rarely has more than one attribute.

These Beast Mana Cores are the foundation of trade and commerce in this world, beast cores with different attributes are used as an energy source for various tools weapons and equipments.

These Elemental mana can be injected into weapons to increase power and efficiency, those who uses weapon arts with the use of weapons injected with mana are called knights and those who directly use magic are called mages.

Those who with very low talent or affinity with elements still can use magic with the help of mana core embeded weapons or staffs.
