Chapter 1: Rebirth

I opened my eyes and saw a blurry figure hovering over me. It was a woman with long golden hair and a gentle smile. She looked familiar, but I couldn't remember who she was.

"Hello, my little angel," she said in a soft voice. "You're finally awake. I've been waiting for you for so long."

She leaned down and kissed my forehead. I felt a warm sensation on my skin. I tried to speak, but no words came out. Instead, I heard a high-pitched cry. It was me. I was crying.

What was going on? Where was I? Who was this woman? And why was I so small?

I looked around and saw that I was lying on a bed in a cozy room. There were toys, books, and pictures on the shelves. There was a crib, a changing table, and a rocking chair. There was a window with curtains that had stars and moons on them.

This was a Baby's room, and I was a baby.

How did this happen? How did I end up here? What about my previous life?

I tried to recall my memories, but they were fuzzy and fragmented. I remembered that I was a 25-year-old man who worked as a software engineer. I had a decent job, a nice apartment, and a few friends. I didn't have a girlfriend, but I was okay with that. I enjoyed playing video games, watching anime, and reading novels.

One of my favorite genres was isekai, or stories about people who get transported to another world. I always fantasized about being one of those protagonists who get to explore a new world, learn magic, fight monsters, and meet beautiful girls, etc. Whenever there are heavy thunderstorms, my thoughts were 'could it be my ticket to another world'.

But it wasn't. It was a ticket to death.

I remembered that I was on my way home from work when a red lightning hit me. I felt a sharp pain in my chest and then everything went black. I thought that was the end of me. I thought I would never see the light again.

But I was wrong. I did see the light again. It was the light of this world. A world that was not my own. A world where I was reborn as a baby.

Why did this happen to me? Was this some kind of cosmic joke? Was this a reward or a punishment? Was this a dream or a reality?

I had no answers. I had no choice. I had to accept my fate.

I was a baby in another world.

And I had to go through all the process of childhood again.

The woman who claimed to be my mother picked me up and held me in her arms. She rocked me gently and sang a lullaby. I felt her warmth and her love. I felt a bond between us. She was my mother in this world. And I was her son.

She looked at me with a loving gaze and said, "You're so cute, my little angel. You have your father's eyes and my hair. You're the perfect combination of us."

Maybe because of the bewildered expression on my face, she asked me,

"Oh are you curious, want to see ?"

Then she took a hand held mirror and showed my face.

'Ugh, i look like a potato'

but a gentle smile appeared on my face, i have golden hair and crimson eyes with golden tints, i can already see a playful future.

"We're so happy that you're here. We've been waiting for you for so long."

She kissed my cheek and said, "Your name is Lucius. Lucious Emberfall. You're the second Son of the Emberfall family, one of the most noble and prosperous County in this kingdom. You have a bright future ahead of you, my son. You'll grow up to be a great man, just like your father."

She smiled and said, "We love you, Luke. We'll always love you. No matter what."

She hugged me gently and I felt a surge of emotion. I felt a tear roll down my cheek. I didn't know what to feel. I was confused, scared, and curious. But I also felt a glimmer of hope.

Maybe this world wasn't so bad. Maybe this life wasn't so bad. Maybe I could find happiness here. Maybe I could make the best of it.

Maybe I could enjoy being a baby in another world.

But little did I know, that this was only the beginning of my embarrassing and exciting adventures.
