Cursed Ones part 3

After Izzy had eaten her fill she felt more at ease.

Theonymphi had even provided her with water, that tasted sweet and unlike any water, she had tasted before.

" Let's get started," Izzy said rubbing her hands together.

She closed her eyes and searched through the new information she had obtained.

The magic of this world was separated into white and black magic.

Both magic types started from the Basic level which was from level 1 through 5.

The Basic level was none elemental spells that all mages knew, most were defensive and spells that aided your everyday life.

The next level was the Specialty level, which was from level 6 to 10.

This was the specialisation phase where a mage would start learning spells that suited their affinity.

After the speciality level came the Graduate level.

This was similar to college grade magic that focused on the purification of the body, spirit and soul.

This level started from 11 to 20 and was especially difficult.

As the power of the mage would then depend on the purity levels of their blood.

So the more mixed and individuals blood, the less likely they were to break through into the Ancient levels.

Which were levels twenty and beyond.

Ancient levels depended not only on the individual's talent but on their purity levels this was when the spirit and soul of the mage would come into play.

From what Izzy understood people from pure and powerful bloodlines would attain Ancient levels easier than other people.

The first spells Izzy learned was a magic defence wall. She basically had to sing the spell which was two short lines and an invisible wall appeared.

" This is so cool!"

Izzy tried out a range of basic spells and discovered that spells were basically songs.

After overusing her magical energy Izzy laid down on the bed. She had spent the whole day in the room practising and began to ask the system some questions.

[ System can I use music from my world as a spell?]

[ Yes. Magic and music are synonymous in this world. It would make no sense if the host could not use earth music as spells.]

Izzy sat up. " Really!?" The excitement oozed out of her and Theonymphi who was shopping down in the kitchen felt Izzy's excitement through their bond. Grabbing some fruit he disappeared and reappeared in the room to see Izzy talking to that suspicious black box, again.

" What's going on?" he asked placing the food on the table.

" I think I became one of the greatest magicians or should I say musicians in this world!" Izzy laughed triumphantly.

Theonymphi yawned unimpressed and sat down on the bed. A few grapes flew around in the air and he watched in boredom as Izzy continued to converse with the box.

For the next few days, Izzy stayed cooped up in the room, learning spells and 'creating' her own.

Finally one morning there was a knock on Izzy's door.

Theonymphi promptly disappeared and Izzy who looked a bit dishevelled opened the door.

In the hallway stood a big muscular lady with a pug-like face.

" This room is booked," she said, " you need to leave".

Izzy who felt slightly intimidated nodded fiercely.

" Ah yes ma'am we'll leave soon", Izzy was going to shut the door when the woman stopped it with her hand.

She lowered herself to Izzy's level and spoke again.

Her hazel eyes stared into Izzy's black eyes.

" You wouldn't happen to know about the stolen food these days would you?"

Izzy froze and laughed " Ah, no. I've been in my room all these days so...."

" Hmmm," the woman responded and then turned around " be sure to leave before noon".

Izzy closed the door and breathed out. Theonymphi appeared and seemed to be smiling.

Izzy grabbed a pillow and hurled it at him.

"We almost got caught," she said.

" Relax. No one knew it was us" Theonymphi said as he flew around without a care.

Izzy looked around the room and grabbed what little she had and some of the leftover clothes Ruben had left behind.

She made Theonymphi carry them in that magical space he had, where everything just magically popped out.

As she walked down the hall and down the stairs Izzy saw some people sitting around. They glanced at her but ignored her and as she made for the door a familiar voice called out to her.

" Hey lass" Izzy turned around to see Sven coming towards her.

She shifted looking around nervously.

" Yes?"

" You're the one who came with Ruben right?"

Izzy nodded.

" You wouldn't happen to know where he is?"

Izzy shook her head and turned around, determined to make her way out. Sven grabbed her shoulder and Izzy winced from the force.

" Oww," she said and he drew his large hand back.

" Oh sorry. I didn't expect you to be so frail" he said looking at his hands, Izzy's shoulder was slim and from his force, he felt like he could've broken some her bones.

" It's okay" Izzy groaned.

' No it's not!' Theonymphi responded through their bond ' he nearly broke your shoulder'.

Izzy ignored Theonymphi she couldn't exactly respond to him because somehow only he could communicate through thought. Whereas, she had to respond out loud.

" Just let me know if you see him again," he said and walked back to the table where his companions were.

They seemed to be hunched over discussing something but Izzy didn't care. She walked out the door into the street and breathed in the fresh air.

She hadn't been outside in five days. The sun was bright and beginning to rise to the middle of the sky and Izzy looked around.

" Now what do we do?"

' I suggest we, you know make some money'

" Yeah, but don't you have any?"

' Tsk! No! What would a fairy need with money? Anyways you can't just leech off of me forever'

Izzy pouted but knew that Theonymphi was right.

She needed to find a way to make money.
