Chapter 16 : Mrs Young

After a few hurtful hours Julie finished dressing her wound and applying the paste that would help with her painful swollen cheeks , the small paper bag from the anonymous person had bandages , pain relieving pills , the paste and an apple . Julie stared at the apple but didn't eat it and instead went straight to bed after a few minutes .

When dawn broke Julie was awoken by a series of knocks on her door , " Julie ! my goodness please open the door it's me Sylvia " she heard the voice call with worry.Julie woke up with a yawn stretching her hands in the process , she opened the door with lazy and sleepy eyes . " Julie how are you doing ? what happened to your face it doesn't look as soon as supposed to be ? does it still hurt ? , what about your palm ? does it still hurt ? " Sylvia bombed her with a series of questions like an interview but at least you have time to answer she did not get any it was question after question without rest . " One question at a time Sylvia let her answer first " suggested Jane who also stepped in but with a yawn .

" Am fine but I would like to ask if any of you left a paper bag outside my door yesterday? " Julie curiously questioned the duo. But both of them denied and it left Julie with a question mark on her head . Julie's cheek wasn't swollen or painful anymore all thanks to that paste from a mysterious stranger , putting last night's incident behind her , Julie and her friends went to class but her cheek not being swollen any more didn't make the stares and whispers any less .

After claiming her seat Julie heard a familiar mocking voice behind her " I see that our little Miss jinxed got herself in yet another sticky situation , tell me all about am dying to hear part of your story " . Julie ignored him and didn't turn around , this made the boy angry so he pulled her chair close to him with a loud screech that made heads turn to look at them curiously and with annoyance , some wanting to rip their heads and hearts out . " Tell me before I get mad and make you bleed girly , I don't play fair whether it's a jinxed girl like you or a punk like Eric lavess " the boy threatened and that made Julie shrink and tremble slightly .

" Well l_ l tripped by mistake and my leftovers fell on that heartless blonde I mean Helen " Julie stated fully staring at her new found bully , " Cool words have been going around that you had put the witch back in her stinky dirty burrow " the bully gave Julie a maddening smile . " Yeah I guess but can I ask you something ? " , the boy tilted his head to the side and nodded " Will you be my friend ? " Julie excitedly asked the boy " ... " who was at a loss of words . She held out her hand for him to take " Let's start over ..... My name is Julie Damien what's your name?"she asked . The boy blinked and then schooled his dazed expression " What are you trying to prove Miss jinxed ... but I'll play along my name is one you should never forget or mock .... Reggie Edgar " He shook her hand .

After a few minutes a woman stepped in who looked like she was in her late thirties , she had worn a gray long sleeved dress that reached below her ankle where you could see her black leather low heeled silver buckled shoes , her black hair was tied into a tight bun with a black lacey ribbon . Her features grim and prim her aura strict and hollow that demanded silence and attention . Standing behind her desk she picked up a black dahlia that was on it , " Class who put this here ? was it you Mr lavess or you ... Reggie ?" She questioned with an expressionless face but when her eyes fell on one particular student did her expression change to a frown but not a minute later she was back to normal.

" I'll let this slide since we have new faces but next time it's detention for a month " The prim and proper woman acknowledged , " Is she always this ...strict ?" Julie wrote a note and gave it to her new friend Reggie.. " My ! my look at you already passing out love notes to me when we've just become friends , how foolishly brave miss jinxed " Reggie joked and Julie turned beet red at his words . " N_no that's not it you misunderstood me Reggie " Julie turned flustered and looked away quickly , " My name is Mrs viola Young ! you students like always you should call me Mrs Young but my friends and family call me Viola . Open your Arithmetics books to page thirty I'll start from there " Mrs Young stated and started teaching.

Julie enjoyed the lesson till the end but half the class didn't while others dozed off including her new friend and Mrs Young couldn't care any less since she was used to and besides the dozing off dimwits were vampires who have been stuck in same class for decades . After she left another teacher came in this time a funny and carefree one and none of the students dozed off he introduced himself to the freshmen as Mr Smith. After classes were done for the day Julie and her friends went to their respective rooms , Julie's day went great since Neither Helen nor Jade showed up they skipped all classes .

When the sun had set and the moon had risen together with the stars , the students went to the cafeteria Julie and her friends were the first to go on their way Julie spotted Drew and Helen kissing they were standing at left side of cafeteria almost in the dark but the moonlight still exposed them . Julie quickly looked away and ignored them just like her friends but it still felt odd .

In one of the restricted side of the dimly lighted hallway Mikey and his friends had their fangs on the girls who had insulted Julie at cafeteria some days back . No sound was made from the girls since they had manipulated them , after making sure that they hadn't sucked the girls dry they sent them on their way . " Guys I think we have got a new snack to feed on countless times , do you remember that girl who got slapped by my dear cousin ? " Mikey asked and they nodded . " Well she's our new target am gonna make her pay for what she did to my dear cousin ten fold , she ruined her outfit and embarrassed her by talking back she is going to pay " Mikey declared with an evil grin his red eyes sparkling with mirth ....
