Monsters and Freedom - Chapter 6

After Aron checked his status, he realized that he was now a different kind of being.

"Right now, the only thing I need is to complete the manipulation step," he said to himself, then closed his eyes for a moment. Within seconds of feeling his real self and calming his mind, he opened his eyes.

"So, this is energy, or origin energy, to be exact."

Aron started seeing blue-colored energy all around himself; some parts of the tent had less, and some parts had more.

"The Voice, now what do I need to do?"

Aron asked, a smile forming on his face. He knew that he asked too much, but why would he not ask when he could? It is easier this way, he thought.

"The user is already given an answer: imagination, knowledge, manipulation."

Aron took a deep breath after hearing the answer from the voice.

"So, let's try something simple."

Aron closed his eyes for a moment and then lifted his right hand, pointing his index finger upwards.

"Imagination..."

Aron whispered and then imagined a small fire burning from the tip of his finger. He then smiled and whispered again.

"Knowledge…"

"Fire is created through a chemical reaction known as combustion." "Fire requires oxygen to sustain the combustion process. In the air, oxygen is present as a component of molecules such as O2."

As Aron thought about the knowledge of fire from Earth, something started to awaken inside his mind. The feeling could not be explained with just words. It is akin to feeling at peace and confident enough to take on the world alone.

Aron gulped and then smiled as he whispered.

"Lastly, Manipulation."

Aron willed the energy around himself and inside himself to grant his desire. Seconds later, as Aron willed to manipulate the energy, a small fire, the size of a fist, manifested.

"It worked!"

Aron exclaimed. At that moment, he noticed somebody coming close to the tent, and he willed the fire to go away. At the same time, Margan entered.

Margan looked at Aron with a sad face. Aron did not need to hear what Margan wanted to say. He knew from his eyes that it was clear that, from now on, he was not wanted here.

Aron got up from his bed and then smiled.

"Thank you for the food and the leather clothes that I wear. I should get going."

Margan nodded and said nothing. He knew that, at this point, there was no need to talk.

Aron left the tent and then looked around himself.

He turned to his right and then whispered.

"This way goes to the town of Alberam. It is a small place, but enough for me to start my journey."

Aron then took a full breath and started walking, with Margan looking from behind.

"I can only hope you can survive, young man."

Margan whispered as he turned back to enter the tent.

After about twenty minutes of walking, Aron stopped and then looked at a big boulder.

"If I know something and imagine it fully, manipulation is the only thing I need to awaken my desire and do what I want to some degree."

He smiled and then pointed his finger at the boulder and whispered.

"Fire Arrow!"

With his whisper, an arrow made up of fire manifested and shot towards the boulder.

"Boom."

The boulder turned black in color but did not break or anything. "I expected this much."

Aron also noticed that when he used his power of existence, something felt weird. It felt like he got a little bit hungrier.

"It should be my power and energy. The more I use my powers, the more energy I spend, which shows that my ability is not infinite, and using it too much will expend my energy."

"I should be careful."

Aron thought.

He was waiting for the time to pass.

He did not want to move in the nighttime, as it is common knowledge that the nighttime is more likely to be dangerous.

"What is this sound?"

Aron heard something, turned his head to look back, and gulped.

"Monsters..."
