Chapter 13 Death.

Stepping into the lift, it began rising to the fourth floor, which was the top floor.

*Ding* The lift opened.

The atmosphere, smell, and temperature were the same, but the room was definitely not as big as the first floor.

"This is where agents above clearance level 5 go to heal. The pods are top of the line," Nick Fury waved his hand as he introduced the place.

"What's the highest clearance?" I asked.

"Nine," he said as he began walking through the curtains.

Looking at the pods, they were visibly more well-designed.

As I was peeking through the curtains, Nick Fury stopped.

"We are here," he said, pulling the curtains to one side.

He stood in place while I walked inside.

It was a solitary pod, the inside filled with smoke. The see-through screen had loads of statistics like heartbeats, blood pressure, and other metrics I didn't understand.

"How do I open this?" I asked, looking towards Nick.

He stepped forward and tapped a button on the side of the pod. The screen on top of the pod popped open, and the cold smoke began escaping.

Clearing up the smoke, I saw Elizabeth appear. The glass slid to the side as the bed inside rose up.

"She should wake up now. She is pretty much healed," Nick said.

I nodded toward Nick, looking at her peacefully resting face I felt so much of the tension built up get released, my mind relaxed aswell knowing she was fine.

Gently grabbing her hand with a smile I waited for her to wake up.

I had a lot of explaining to do afterall.

...

About two hours passed, and the aircraft, although massive, had covered quite a lot of distance away from Sokovia.

By Elizabeth had awoken and Wright had already tokd her baout everything that happened and currently he was heading to another room along with an Agent from Shield.

Currently, inside a room within the huge aircraft, Nick Fury faced a wide screen with many people.

"Sokovia is uninhabitable for its residents in its current state," Nick Fury said.

He was trying to convince these people, representing all the major countries, to house them.

"I propose we provide the support needed. Wakanda is willing to provide food," an elderly voice said.

"We are also willing to provide support," another voice said, and soon many other countries followed in agreement.

"We all have concerns regarding the Avengers," a man said, speaking towards Nick Fury.

He was the representative of the United States, the Secretary of State, Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross.

"Due to the increasing concern over the unchecked power and actions of the Avengers and other superpowered individuals, I propose that we establish a framework for accountability and control over their actions, ensuring they operate under legal and governmental supervision."

"The Avengers are a group ensuring Earth's protection. It would not be right to restrict their autonomy, as that can lead to abuse of their power by various governments for political benefits," the representative of Wakanda countered.

"The potential damage prevented far outweighs the damage caused. There have also been no lives directly taken by the Avengers," Nick Fury added, reinforcing the Wakandan representative's point and shutting down Ross.

The meeting concluded soon afterward.

Nick didn't hide Wright's existence, but he didn't put the blame on Wright or fully expose his powers.

...

Inside another room, Wright had finnaly arrived and there were two body bags.

His heart pounded as he headed forward towards the bag and began unzipping the top.

His hands shaking as whatever was inside was revealed.

looking at the bodies inside he felt his heart strangle.

Slight Dried blood stains on there faces.

Their eyes were lifeless, their bodies cold tot he touch.

The agent stood beside Wright.

"I'm sorry for your loss. They couldn't make it out," the agent named Hill said. "We haven't concluded yet, but it can be assumed it was done by one of Ultron's bots."

Wright zoned out, memories from his childhood to the present flooding his mind.

His eyes watered as he looked at their faces, their bodies still inside the body bags.

His breathing became choppy, a sense of emptiness engulfing his heart.

He moved forward slowly and held his mother's hand, staring at her.

He tried to close her eyes but couldn't.

The lifeless eyes staring at him, he couldn't stop the tears from streaming down his cheeks.

Bringing his mother's and fathers hand to his head, he began sobbing.

"I'm so sorry, Mom and Dad," he said through his sobs.

Agent Hill left the room to give him some privacy to say his final goodbyes before it was time to start the procedure to process there deaths.

Shutting the door behind her, she stood in the short hallway and couldn't help but let out a tired breath.

"It never gets easy," she said, staying there for a few seconds in silence, blankly staring at the ceiling.
