'Guess I should start with my identity,' Owen thought as he clicked on the "Identity" option. A massive list of names popped up before him, and he scrolled through them for the next couple of minutes, searching for one that resonated with him and was reasonably priced. After careful consideration, he found a name that he liked and was within his budget.
[Shishido Daisuke(Great helper)- A respected wanderer on a quest to see the world in all it's splendor before it's what he believes to be his invetible fall(2500 points)]
With that settled, Owen moved on to the next section: location. Surprisingly, this one turned out to be the smallest, with only four options popping up. However, each option came with a hefty price tag, far more than Owen had expected.
[5 Cities away from the protagonist(1000 points)]
[3 cities away from the protagonist(1500 points)]
[1 city away from the Protagonist(2000 points)]
[Same city as the protagonist(2500 points)]
Seeing the options, Owen wasted no time in choosing the most expensive one. There was no way he was going even one city away from the main characters. In the world of Kabaneri, traveling between cities could take days, maybe even weeks. If each segment kept proving to be so expensive, Owen doubted if he would be able to pick a good time in the story to intervene.

'Wow, I'm going broke fast,' Owen thought simply before clicking on the section labeled "Timeline." This section, unlike the others, had a slider. When moved left, it brought Owen further back in time, increasing the price drastically. On the other hand, moving it right actually gave him money, something Owen didn't care for at the moment. Instead, he wanted to have some time before the actual story started. He began to fiddle with the slider until he finally found a time he was happy with.

Another chunk taken out of his wealth. Luckily, the next section turned out to be free, allowing Owen to make changes to his appearance without any cost. He took advantage of this opportunity, improving his looks and even making his hair dark blue with streaks of purple for fun.
The next section proved to be interesting. Owen could improve his relations with certain characters for points or decrease them for a payment. Owen happily took advantage of this, immediately dropping his relations with some characters to "slight dislike," which earned him a whopping 1400 points back. Satisfied with his decision, he moved on to the next section.

The quest section was about what you would expect, with quests like slaying 100 Kabane or ensuring a certain number of people survive. Owen had taken on many quests, all of which were listed down below:
[Hero in a falling city - Fight and save 10 people during the fall of the protagonist city, any more will be counted as a bonus adding on 10 point per extra person saved(Reward: 500 points)]
[I shall kill them all!- kill as many kabane with each kill scoring you 5 points]
[Putting heroes to rest- Kill every wazatori you encounter for 200 points each and the skill [Crowd control] ]
[Kill the black smoke- kill the black smoke(Reward: 2000 points and the Evolution for stealth skill to [One with the Shadows])]
The reason he didn't take all was because he simply didn't want to risk failing any as the system had wanted him that any non completed quest will find himp 2 to 5 times the quest rewards.
'Alright, that should be enough,' Owen thought as he finally felt ready to enter the world. However, the transition happened so seamlessly that Owen found himself lying in a very uncomfortable bed with a pillow filled with straw that uncomfortably stabbed into his neck.
"Where am I?" Owen asked himself as he sat up, rubbing his neck. His gaze shifted to the window, which offered a view of rice fields in the distance. A sense of joy and relief washed over Owen at the sight of the vibrant life of the outside which replaced the cold darkness of space he had grown accustomed to.
[Memories sync complete]
At that moment, Owen's mind was flooded by memories of a life that wasn't his, shedding light on his current circumstances.
"So I'm renting a room from a family of farmers, that explains a lot," Owen thought quietly as he walked towards the door of his room and quickly exited into what appeared to be a combined dining room and kitchen. Inside, an older woman with blond hair streaked with gray stood over a fire, cooking a thick soup with various ingredients floating inside.
"Oh, hello there Daisuke, how are you? If you're hungry, please wait a few minutes as the food will soon be done," the woman said, noticing Owen, who put on a friendly smile before speaking.
"I'm good, Ms. Ichiro. I plan to go explore around. Please tell your husband I said hi," Owen replied before quickly leaving the house and stepping into the warm rays of the sun.
"Let's get started," Owen thought as he set off into the distance.
