Gary's Adventure

While Liam was on his way to do some training, he thought about Gary as he had not seen him throughout this whole tournament and wondered whether he was okay.

A few months ago…

Gary could be seen on Mount Silver at the very top battling the strongest opponent he had ever encountered.

The Legendary Pokémon Raikou was standing at the very top of the mountain as thunderstorms covered the area. Lightning struck whenever Raikou roared as he was engaged in a tough battle with Gary's Umbreon, Electivire and the rest of his Pokémon Skarmory, Blastoise, Kingdra and Houndoom in tow as they unleashed their most powerful attacks.

Ganging up on the Pokémon one versus six, Raikou tried his hardest as they battled for the entire day until he was out of gas, as he fell on his belly. Gary threw an electric symbol Poke ball at Raikou as it shook several times before calming down and making the silently pleasant chime sound.

Gary was surprised. He could not believe that he just caught a Legendary Pokémon, one that could move the clouds and destroy the Earth with his electricity. He was so excited as he yelled to the heavens, "Finally. I too have a Legendary Pokémon. Liam you better watch out. I'm coming for you and this time you will not be able to bully me."

Gary was super excited, but before he could even call his grandfather to let him know the news, he passed out as he too, had received some of the electrical attacks as electric currents were wavering around his body. It seemed to have fused with his DNA causing his hair to have shades of yellow in it.

The next day Gary had woken up with his Pokémon Umbreon licking him in his face. Umbreon was the first to wake up as the other started to wake up too. Gary was confused, but then when he saw the thunder-shaped symbol on the Poke ball in his hands, he began to get excited. 'I can't believe I caught a Legendary Pokémon. I should heal up now. All my Pokémon have been injured, and I am running out of items' he thought.

Gary was beaten up, and his clothes were torn. He checked the time and date on his Pokedex, and that is when he realized that the Johto league was starting soon. He needed to get there as quickly as possible. He used a potion on all his Pokémon to get them healed enough to go down the mountain as they still had to battle through several Pokémon to get out of Mount Silver.

Due to the unrest that Raikou and Gary had caused, all the Pokémon around the area were a little shaken and on edge; so, Gary was having quite the hard time getting down the mountain as several Pokémon would attack them out of nowhere due to feeling jumpy.

Gary was exhausted. He looked a hot mess and had not taken a shower in weeks as he slowly made his way down the mountain battle after battle. His Pokémon were all exhausted, but they leveled up quite a bit as they could experience the hardship. Gary wanted to bring out his new Legendary Pokémon, but he was not too sure how it would react to Gary, but Gary needed to do it because his Pokémon were exhausted, and he had run out of potions.

He had but one potion left, and he wanted to use it on his Legendary Pokémon, so he finally had the courage one day to take out Raikou, and surprisingly when Raikou came out, at first it was angry but then as soon as his eyes fell on Gary and noticed the changes in Gary's aura, it calmed down and went by Gary's side and licked him surprising all the Pokémon there as they were ready to hold him down if he was to try anything against Gary.

"Hey buddy, it seems like you like me, huh." When Gary patted Raikou's head, electricity started forming around his arm, shocking him a little. 'What's going on? Why do I feel so good after touching him?' Gary thought but did not overthink it as he gave the potion to Raikou to heal him. Then he mounted him as they made their way towards the bottom of the mountain. Gary was just happy that Raikou was able to submit to him so quickly as he knew how troublesome it was to tame a Legendary Pokémon.

Gary made his way straight to the Johto league, and that is when he met Ash and Liam at the registration. He had a hood on, so they did not notice the changes around Gary, but after Gary registered his Pokémon, he finally was able to take a nice hot shower and take all his Pokémon to the Pokémon Center as they were healed back to full health.

In the next few days, he battled to his heart's content. He never took out Raikou as no challenger was able to defeat his primary team, and he was going to use Raikou as a backup.

Raikou was only a level 200, but that was Gary's strongest Pokémon, so he did not mind the stories. He knew that Raikou's potential was more significant than the rest of his Pokémon and he would train him and focus more on the electric based Pokémon from here on out.

Before every battle, he would allow Raikou to charge up Electivire, that way; he would have an extra boost of electricity on top of having electrical energy from a Legendary Pokémon. Electivire was able to crush all his opponents as they made their way to the top.

"Thank you, Raikou and Electivire. You guys have taken me far into the league battles. The next one will be against Ash and Liam, my strongest rivals. Even that other kid that has the Legendary water Pokémon is quite strong this time. We will do all we can to win battles, and I will not hold back. Please take good care of me" Gary said as he looked at Raikou with passion in his eyes.
