Final Confessions PART 2

Dushyant drops down on one knee and holds her hand. Ishu looks at him shocked. Jassi and everyone who are dancing around them come to a halt. Heart in mouth, Ishu watches him. Is he going to propose her?!

Seconds pass by. The Shergills are also quiet as the whole atmosphere turns tense. Dushyant smiles at Ishu finally dropping her hand…

Dushyant- "Tere liye gift hai..."

He takes out something from his pocket. A pair of payal…

Dushyant- "tujhe pasand hai na payal..."

Dumbfounded, Ishu manages to nod.

Dushyant puts payal right where they belong and admires the sight. Still smiling, he rises to his feet. Despite disappointment rising in her chest, Ishu's heart is racing, just the sight of him thrilling her heart in a way it has never been before.

Ishu- "Thanks."

Regaining some of her composure, she manages to smile at him. The hall is suddenly filled with people murmuring, random chitchat as atmosphere inside turns normal. Ishu begins to walk away, annoyed. Scolding him under her breath, she keeps walking-

Ishu- "Dusht Danav Bhalu… mada chudail! Kya samjhta hai apne aapko! Ishu… you pagal! He's playing with your heart! Pehle bureau mei! Aur ab yaha! stupid stupid bhaalu! And stupid! Stupid billi!"

She moves to a corner, sidestepping some of the girls and Jassi who obviously have thought to console her.

Ishu- "Kya sochrahi thi tum billi….! Ki wo ye bolega… ki main tumse pyar karta hu! Stup-"

?- "Main tumse pyar karta hu!"

Ishu's sentence ends abrubptly as someone repeats those very words she wants to hear. She turns around to see a glimpse of that person. Just a glimpse of Dushyant and then everything is dark…. Well until a spot light is flashed on her. Everyone fall silent again and only one voice echoes through the hall-

Dushyant- "Yahi sunna chahti thi na tum…?"

Ishu's mouth is hung open. Was she talking out loud? How did he hear all that!? And what on earth is happening? Is he going to-

Dushyant- "You know billi… aaj tereliye payal kyu leke aaya main…. Kyu ki bachpan se tujhe payal pehenne ka shauk tha… tu toh bureau me bhi pehenke aagayi thi kahi baar... "

he laughs at the end and she huffs. Is he making fun of her?

Dushyant- "Aur tujhe yaad hoga na…. Kaise ek baar tune apni payal khodiya.. aur maine puraa ground chaan maari usey dhoondne…. Tujhe pata hai kyu?"

She falls silent, emotions swirling as he continues to speak of their childhood.

Dushyant- "kyu ki mujhe uss waqt teri khoyi hui hasee ki bhi talash thi. I just wanted to make you smile. Aur fir hum best friends bangaye… itnaa… ki ek dusre k bina hum rehnahi paye… lekin fir… jisko naa hona tha… wo hua… tumhare papa k transfer.. aur wo din jab tum humare colony chod k jarahi thi…. Mujhe chod k jaarahi thi…. Maine apne aap ko wahin pe khodiya tha…."

Ishu is suddenly in tears. She remembers that night too. When her family had to move all of a sudden.

Dushyant- "tumne bataya nahi ki tum kaha jarahi thi…."

"mujhe pata bhi nahi tha…. Wo sab itna jaldi jo hua..." Ishu murmurs to herself.

Dushyant- "par tumne ye bataaya tha… ki yeh laal paraanda hume milaayega..."

Dushyant takes out a red ribbon 'Laal Paraanda' from his pocket and he steps close holding it before her eyes-

Dushyant- "aur hum mile… fir se ek baar… aur iss baar humesha humesha k liye.. hai na?"

Ishu is speechless and nods

Dushyant- "aur jab mil hi gaye toh ek baar fir se pata chala hai.. tere bina main reh nahi sakta… tu mujhe wapas mili toh main adhure se pura hogaya hu… aur main chahta hu ki ab tum mujhse kabhi judaa na ho.. ye jo ehsaas aaj hai, shayad wo bachpan mei bhi tha… bas usey ek naam dena hi baaki rehgaya tha,…. Humare iss rishte ka ek hi naam tha humesha se Billi…. "

He reaches out to caress her cheek and wipe a single tear that escaped her right eye….

Dushyant- "Pyar…. I love you Billi…."

He suddenly drops to the floor on both the knees and extends his hand towards her… the laal paraanda is still between his fingers, that one red ribbon, a proof of their love, right from childhood. The spotlight now focuses on the two of them and once again Dushyant speaks-

Dushyant- "Tere bina main adhura, suna-sunaa… Tu nahi toh main nahi… Will You Marry Me?"

Ishu gasps… making a small sound that's muffled quickly by her palm…. Suppressing a cry, she looks at him in a daze, there he is… on both his knees, looking disheveled and tense… almost afraid of her rejection, ready to crumple to the ground if she says no… Is he afraid? Why? She thought he knew it…. So why?! Why is he looking at her, begging to say yes?!

She continues looking at him, teary eyed…. And he only gets impatient

From among the onlookers who are in the dark.

KV- Wow! Ye toh mujhse bhi zyada poetic nikla!

Preet- Sachha pyar aapko poetic kardeta hai….

KV Preet look at IshYant in awe. Dushu's cousins are awstruck as well….

Akash- "Agar usne naa kaha toh wo toot jayega… gosh!"

Naira- "wo kuch bolte kyu nahi yarrr!"

Akash- "Yar India k world cup final mei bhi itni tension nahi hui..."

Jassi- "bhai.. this is not fair… dulhan ka blood pressure badhane pe tule hai ye log! Wo bhi uski shadi k din!"

Roop- "Haan Jassi di..."

Dushu finally breaks the silence… annoyed….

Dushyant- "Hey! Billi… say something…. Haan ya na…."

Ishu is at loss of words but finally manages to flail her arms.. she then chukles and takes deep breaths to calm herself..

Everyone look on almost biting their fingers… in addition to the guests, family members and friends of both parties two individuals are also present, watching the scene in awe…. Even a lonely figure that loiters by a pillar far by is moved to tears….

Dushyant- "Haan ya Naa Billi…. Bolo naa…? Say something! Damn it! Rab di sau agar tune-"

Ishu- "tujhe lagta hai naa bolne ki possibility hai?!"

Ishu shrieks suddenly, sounding annoyed… her voice coming out in a gasp…

Dushyant- "Whh- whatt..."

Now it's Dushu's turn to be taken aback… he's slightly confused, lost in the moment but everyone around heave a sigh of relief…

"Ohh kudi ne haan kehdi bhaai!" someone shouts from the crowd.

Dushyant blinks in disbelief and looks at Ishu…

"Stupid! Stupid Bhalu..." Ishu chides him.

Ishu- "tu mera best friend, mera teddy bear, mera sab kuch hai! Bachpan se! don't you know?"

"Congratulations Bhaii! Ohh chak de!" Cheers errupt from the guys around. Even KV whistles in happiness and almost hugs Preet in the process.

"Shh! Shh baat karne de unlogo ko!" Jassi shouts and everyone fall silent….

Dushu looks around in the darkness.. Jassi gives him a thumbs-up and he then turns to Ishu again chuckling slightly in disbelief…

Ishu- "stupid dumb bhalu! Dusht danav fir bhi dumb! dumb dumb..."

Dushyant- "Hey now!"

Ishu continues to chide him but he only laughs as she places her hand in his… he holds her hand, still kneeling, marveling the tiny fingers and their warmth that stirred his heart-

Dushyant- "I'm dumb haan..."

Ishu- "Aur nei toh kya…."

Ishu steals a line from Abhijeet sir and gently bends over to ruffle his hair.

Ishu- "I love you Bhalu…. Humesha se…. Mujhe lagta hai, bachpan se hi…. Tabhi toh chipkali ki tarah chipakti rehti thi tere saat..."

He laughs at that…. The tension finally leaving his shoulders. Ishu goes on. She suddenly doesn't know what gave her strength to voice her feelings, that too in front of everyone…..

Ishu- "jab hum dobara mile… toh main bas yahi chahti thi.. ki hum kabhi door na ho… kabhi bhi nahi…. So yes..."

Dushyant now looks up at her a smile on his face. He closes his eyes as she bends over and gives him a forehead kiss-

His cousins start whistling again, cheering the duo and he's suddenly shy-!

Dushyant- "Hey now! Sab k saamne nahi..." he laughs ducking his head shyly…

Jassi Di, KV, his cousins and his mom-dad laugh at this. Roop murmurs 'my bhai is the best! Aur bhabhi is the sweetest!'

Ishu finally says what Dushyant has been waiting to listen to-

Ishu- "Your answer is YES. Haan Bhalu… main tumse shadi karungi….. because you complete me…. You're my everything…. Aur mujhe lagta hai, itnaa sohna munda pure duniya vich nahi milne wala mujhe…."

Everyone clap as the hear this! The two individuals- bin bulaaye mehmaan, Ishu's parents wipe their tears.

Rano- Aap sahi the…. Humari kudi de naal itnaa pyaar aur koi nahi karsakta…

Ishu's father hugs her and nods…. They smile as the watch the new couple…

Dushyant kisses Ishu's hand he's holding... then suddenly jumps to his feet, he throws a fist in the air and then pulls Ishu into a quick hug… Ishu laughs but hugs him back but that's just for a second… in the next instant he lifts her up, holding her bridal style and spinning around… and they're engulfed in their own new found bliss, new found love

Ishu- "Ahahaha! Heyy! mujhe chakkar ayega…. Heyy put me down… haahaha..."

Dushyant- "Noooooppeee… you made me so happy… Billi… I'm the happiest man alive…."

he finally stops after a few moments and puts her down on her feet.. both catch their breath.. he still has his arms around her… he is about to give her a kiss on the cheek when-

KV- "Bhai… hum bhi zinda hai! pyar mila toh dost ko bhool toh nahi gaye na..."

KV is the first to approach the duo… but that doesn't stop Dushu from finishing the task at hand… he gives Ishu a lingering kiss on her cheek. Ishu is suddenly shy and moves away from him... the ladies start teasing the duo… everyone express their happiness congratulate the new couple and KV-Dushu exchange a warm hug.

Suddenly Jassi screams looking at her watch!

Jassi- "AAJ MERI SHADI HAI BHAIII!"

Everyone is suddenly in panic..

"maurat k liye ab 30 minute bache hai!"

"Jaldi karooo"

Even the groom's parents everyone who seemed to have forgotten about the shadi come back to senses and everything is in a frenzy.

However the shadi progresses without a glitch.

That night…

the shergil mansion is silent. Jassi's vidaai is over and everyone is just very silent…. Dushu is standing outside… watching the gate from which Jassi Di's car has just left.

Someone comes to wrap her arm around his… It's Ishu….

Ishu- "Di ne bola na… wo kahi nahi gayi…"

Dushu nods as he wraps an arm around her… pulling her close…

Ishu- "tu thik hai na..."

Dushyant- "hmm"

he nods again resting his head against hers and sighing.

Ishu- "Jiju ne bola na… wo jab chahe yaha aasakti hai… aur did kehrahi thi wo humari shadi k preparations me hissa lene jaldi hi aayeg-"

Ishu stops suddenly getting shy… she even disentangles herself from him… Dushu suddenly laughs looking at her… she's now standing beside him… atleast three feet apart!

Dushyant- "tum kuch kehrahi thi… kya kehrahi thi…."

He teases her and she looks away….

Dushyant- "toh tum mujhse shadi karna chahti ho? Haan?"

she refuses to look at him… laughing again… he tries to hug her but she moves away-

Ishu- "tumne pucha tha pehle! Shadi k liye!"

She glares at him… the lights from the lamp just beside them casts an ethereal glow on her….

Ishu- "aurr.. aur main tume cheer up karne ki koshish karrahi thi! Bhalu kaheeka! you're so mean! jao mujhe tumse shadi nahi karni…."

Dushyant- "Mat karo..." he shrugs it off casually.

Ishu looks at him stunned..

Ishu- "tum… tumee mazak lagta hai…?"

Dushyant- "shadi kise karni hai… mujhe tu milgayi hai… hum saat hai… toh.. it's fine!"

Ishu is suddenly very angry… Dushu smiles enjoying the view-

Ishu- "You! Dust Danav! Chodungi nahi tujhe! Time pass karna chahta hai mere saat? Aur koi nahi mili tume… mazak karra hai na… mazak me bhi aisa kaha toh.,. tujhe..."

she hits him playfully on the chest and he lets her do so… after several blows… Ishu pants… finally her anger dissolving in fits of laughter as Dushu hugs her tight murmuring words of love…

Dushyant- "of course mazak tha… you were so cute getting all angry.,,, I was just teasing you..."

He kisses her forehead and she looks at him, still in his arms….

Dushyant- "I love you Billi..."

Ishu- "Main bhi..."

He laughs but doesn't tease her further.

Dushyant- "But I mean it… I think we should just enjoy our time… shadi karke jhagda nahi karna mujhe tumse...itni jaldi nahi …"

Ishu gives him a look and he laughs again… she pushes him to a side and walks away… Dushu thinks she's angry as he chases her inside… and pyar wala nokjhok wala love story shuru!

The lonesome figure by the door walks away… he has been loitering around the gate onserving the two…

It's..

MAYUR?!

Mayur- I'm sorry Ishu… main tumse badla lena chahta tha… par ab nahi.. tum dono ka pyar ne mujhe badal dia hai… aur ab tume ya tumhari family ko mujhse koi pareshani nahi hogi…

he wipes a tear from his eyes and walks away…

Inside…

Ishyant are greeted by Ishu's parents…. Who approve their relationship.
