37. Final confessions!

Precap: While participating in the festivities at Jassi Di's shaadi, IshYant finally realize they're in love with each other. D tries to kiss her n Ishu runs away thanks to Preet showing up. There's awkwardness and KV is the one who drops the girls home. The next day there's a case, Ishu rushes to the spot where blast occurs- Dushyant and some other man whom he was trying to rescue are caught up in the mess…. What will happen to our IshYant??

"Bhalu!"

Ishu runs further into the quarry ignoring the others who are shouting not to.

She coughs as she finds herself surrounded by clouds of white dust, sounds of rocks, boulders rolling from above into the pit causing her to jump in fear. She dodges a rock, coughing violently but still manages to keep her ears open for signs of danger. She isn't bothered about her safety though, all she wants is to confirm her Bhalu is safe!

Ishu- "Bhalu…."

Her voice falters. She chokes almost unable to breathe in the dusty air- just then a hand wraps itself around her arm and in the next instant, she's standing in the clear, looking at someone who seemed like he's scolding her despite cough that choked his speech-

Dushyant- "K.." * Cough* "paa.. gal hai kya…" * cough * "t..u…" *cough * "marjana hai huh?"

Finally, he manages to scold her properly, his coughs subsiding as he takes in her appearance. Fear, anxiety washes away and Ishu is smiling again and without warning, she launches herself at him.

Ishu- "Bhalu! Tu thik hai..."

She hugs him tight. His arms wrap around her returning the hug. And the two of them suddenly jump apart coughing-

Dushyant- "ugh! mujhe laga main gaya.. baal-baal bache yar..!"

Dushyant looks around and sure enough the man who he managed to save seems fine too, though he's also coughing like them. He looks at Ishu who is still coughing and goes to hold her. He rubs her back soothingly and she looks at him. Her coughing has subsides and she hugs him yet again, this time gently. He wraps his arms around her, rubbing her arm lovingly-

Ishu- "I'm so glad tu thik hai bhalu..."

Her voice is raspy, a little unclear. But still what she says next sounds melodious to him-

Ishu- "tujhe kuch hojata toh main kya karti?! Main toh marjaati bhalu!"

Her last words tug at his heartstrings, he hugs her tighter as she begins to sob.

Dushyant- "shhh! Kinni bar bola hai, tenu samajh ni aata? Tu meri jaan hai, tu nahi toh main nahi… tujhe kuch hojaye isse pehle main hi marja-"

She stops him from saying it further-

Ishu- "thik hai fir… koi ni bolega aisi gal-"

Dushyant- "achi billi."

the duo look at each other. He wipes her tears and they smile.

Ishu- "tujhe chot lagi hai-"

she points to his forehead. There are cuts over his arms, shirt-

Ishu- "tujhe.. tujhe zyada chot ni aayi na?"

Dushyant- "nahi… tu… oh rabba, tujhe koi chot toh nahi lagi na billi?"

She shakes her head and he sighs pulling her close. She smiles resting her head against his chest. Before either of them could say anything, they hear their companions shouting and rushing towards them- Ishyant let go of each other as they arrive-

Daya- "Found you! uff!"

Abhijeet- "Kaha the yar! kab se chilla rahe the.. sunayi nahi dia?"

ACP sir- "blast ke waje se kahi pathar ider-udher hogaye hai, sunayi ni diya hoga… ye bolo… tum dono thik ho na…?"

Ishyant- "haan sir, hum thik hai..."

Daya- "aur bhai saab aap?"

the man Dushyant saved- "main thik hu sir… wakkai… aapke officer ne apni jaan pe khel k mujhe bachaya…. Main humesha abhari rahunga,..."

Daya pats the man on his back. Abhijeet and ACP lash out on Ishu-

Abhijeet- "Kya socha tumne? Aisi bhaag lagata hai koi? Huh?"

ACP sir- "Ishita! I need to take an action against you! Bina orders ke, bina waja ke tumne apni jaan khatre me daal dia..."

Ishu flinches but smiles. It's only their concern. She knew it.

Ishu- "Waja thi sir.. mujhe mere dost k paas jaana tha. I know I'm still on duty… aur maine apne emotions pe act kia… sab ko pareshan kardia.. aur tujhe bhi bhalu- I'm sorry… aur sir.. ab aapko jitna daatna hai, daantiye!"

Ishu apologizes with her hands clasped.

ACP sir- "Daant? tume toh fire karna chahiye!"

Ishu- "sir please I'm sorry."

Freddy- "Haan sir! Ek minute, bhaalu? Yaha bhalu kon hai?"

Nikhil- "Aur kon Dushyant sir!"

Pankaj- "Wah sir! Kitna cute name hai! Ab se main bhi aapko yahi bulaunga- ow!"

Dushyant smacks pankaj on head and everyone laughs. KV who is somewhere else runs to the spot. He's relieved seeing Ishyant and hugs Dushu tight-

Dushyant- "oww! Chod mere bhai-"

KV lets him go n kicks him in the stomach…

Dushyant- "owww! zor se mara kyu?"

KV- "tujhe hero banne ka shauk hai na… ye le! Aur le!"

KV hits his shoulder, then aims a punch at his face, Dushu holds his wrist,

Freddy- "aur maro KV! Hero banne aaya hai bada!"

Dushyant- (pointing Ishu) "usko maro na kv… heroine banna chahti thi! Ghus aayi mujhe dhundhne..."

Ishu- "kaise na aati…."

Ishu trails off looking away. Despite his anger, Dushu smiles… she's so cute! he's about to hug her but to his horror, KV hugs her tight… :O

she hugs him back… and they share a laugh… few moments later-

Dushyant- *grunts * "ab bhi chipka hua hai!"

KV hugs her for a bit longer and Dushu pulls him apart…

KV smiles and whispers….

KV- "itni jalan..."

Dushu just glares. KV laughs...

Daya- "tum logo ko first aid ki zarurat hai! Sabse pehle bureau chalte hai! Chalo!"

and everyone are set off to bureau.

Bureau… KV, Dushu, Ishu are in first aid/ Rest room. Ishu takes a cotton swab dipped in peroxide and dabs at the cut on Dushu's forehead-

He grimaces slightly and she flinches-

She looks at him, frowning-

Dushyant- "I'm fine billi… waise tujhe kyu zyada dard horaha hai, hmm?"

He asks playfully flashing a charming smile and she turns red-

Ishu- "dard toh hoga hi…."

she trails off weakly, reaching to wipe cuts on his arm when suddenly he holds her hand-

Dushyant- "mujhe dekho na, see… I'm fine. Aur tere haat mei jadu hai haan, mere sar ka dard toh jaise gayab hogaya hai….."

he reaches out with another hand to gently touch her cheek, letting his fingers trace a line to her chin. Ishu takes a step back from him, heart pounding-

Just what does he think he's doing?-

Dushyant- "Kya hua..."

Dushyant asks innocently. But that teasing smile on his face said something else. He knows what he's doing to her heart! may be he can hear it pounding? She tears her gaze away from him and turns to KV...

Ishu- "kv sir aap karo Dushyant ka firstaid..."

But KV has his back to her. He's turned away and sat in a corner to and he's even covering his ears… but why?

Ishu- "KV SIR! Kya karrahe hai aap?"

KV turns around as Ishu calls out for him.

KV- "tum logo ko privacy deraha tha. Meri akhon k saamne flirt karre the tum dono-"

Ishu turns even redder. She wants to talk back but cuts it off-

Ishu- "Aap.. aap karo Dushyant sir ka first aid!"

KV and Dushu exchange looks. Did she really say that? Dushyant sir?

Dushyant- "Hey! Billi ruko.. ye Dushyant sir ka kya matlab hua haan?"

Dushu calls out after her but Ishu is already gone, running out of the room in an instant. He sighs. KV reaches for the first aid box-

KV- "ab mujhe hi lagana padega. Agli bar mujhe heart attack dene se pehle ek bar socha karo dost-"

KV looks genuinely concerned as he applies ointment to his friend's wounds.

Dushyant- "I'm sorry yar."

Dushu apologizes sincerely… KV smiles weakly.

Dushyant- "ab has paglo ki tarah warna I'll tickle you!"

KV- "Kya?" :O

KV is taken aback…

Dushyant- "I know tujhe tickles aate hai…"

KV- "hey! Main kya baccha hu haan? Mujhe ni aate..."

Dushu reaches out to hug KV and tickles him slightly in the ribs… KV doubles over in laughter and hits his friend…

Dushyant- "ab lag raha hai tu mera KV-"

KV- "hmm don't make it sound like you truly love me. Billi ka kya hoga?"

Dushu pouts while fuming. KV laughs hugging his friend again…

KV- " arey bhai! Mazak tha! Gussa nahi plz!" * holds his ears *

Dushyant- "iss bar bachgaya tu… teri pitayi nahi karunga.. kyu ki ab mujhe tujhe haste hue hi dekhna hai yar…."

Kv smiles big and hugs him again. D hugs him back-

KV- "senti kardia yar mere ko! I love you too mere bhai… we're friends forever!"

the duo exchange another hug before returning to their duties to wrap up the case. That night, D thinks to catch Ishu but she's gone home. And Jassi Di's shadi is just the other day. He heads home with KV thinking of how much his life will change- his best friend is going to be his lover, life partner and his sister has found her special someone and is getting married. He's happy but at the same time is a little sad. He'll miss his badi didi and billi… does she really love him? What will she say when he'll confess to her?

the next day-

Ishu and Preet arrive early in the morning. Shadi is in the afternoon, so everyone is busy doing last minute preps. Ishu and Preet are dressed in traditional lehenga cholis, looking stunning. Especially Ishu in her golden-pink outfit took Dushyant's breath away. Ishu smiles him at once, just a normal hello and then joins the girls… Dushyant doesn't get to talk much but whenever he has the chance, his eyes seem to linger on her admiring her.

11 AM and the girls all assemble in the hall. Jassi is supposed to go get ready but the girls drag her out and they all dance to the beats of dholak. Dushu and KV and the boys arrive to stand a few feet away watching them, cheering. D's eyes are solely on Ishu which doesn't go unnoticed by everyone…. KV decides not to tease him much and lets him be. Ishu is also sneaking glances at him and that's when Jassi pulls her down and the girls take a break sitting on the carpet.

Ishu- "Are you tired, di? Aapko zyada nachna nahi chahiye, aap dulhan ho na…"

Jassi- "isliye nahi kheecha tumhe. Did you notice it too?"

Jassi asks in a whisper.

Ishu- "kya… notice karni hai?"

Jassi- "Dushyant… uski aankhei bas tumpe hi tiki hui hai subah se…."

Ishu turns red. Of course she has, those deep eyes looking lovingly at her, they have kept her heart pounding all the time.

Ishu- "n.. nahi toh..."

she lies easily. Jassi smiles but doesn't push her.

Jassi- "tumne usse baat ki?"

Ishu- "n… nahi… I mean…. Subah se busy thi… toh.."

Jassi- "toh ab jaao na…. Baat karo… pucho ki aisa kyu dekh raha hai tujhe!"

Ishu- "par di..."

Jassi- "jab koi ladka aise kisi ko dekhta hai, iske peeche ek hi waja hosakta hai…"

Ishu looks down..

Jassi- "do you love him too….?"

Jassi asks her in a quiet voice. Ishu's eyes find Dushu and their eyes meet. This time Ishu decides to tell the truth.

Ishu- "I love him so much."

She smiles at Dushu without breaking eye contact. He smiles and then raises a questioning eyebrow. She shakes her head and laughs as Jassi pulls her up on her feet and hugs her.

Jassi- "oh dil khush karditta tune, kudiye! oyee zara aur zor se dholak bajao! Mujhe inki khushi k liye bhi naachni hai-"

Jassi dances happily.. Ishu laughs and reluctantly begins to dance. She freezes as someone comes to hold her hand. Around them everyone are still dancing….

She looks surprised and calls his name-

Ishu- "Dushyant!"

He smiles as he drops to his knee holding her hand and…

ahh but I love cliffhangers. Hehe.
