Gabriel sat with his head resting in his hands that were propped up on his desk on his elbows. He was trying not to look at that damn closed portal again for the fortieth time this hour. He had been in hell and been better off before.
Afton was flopped in the chair in front of the desk nursing a glass of brown liquor. They had both taken up drinking like it was a sport lately. Being trapped away from one's mate was no joke hazardous to their mental health.
Gabriel sighed, "Tell me again what happened."
"Three weeks ago, South went on a rampage and killed upwards of three hundred limon and soldiers over the course of two days. Then he went through his door to the human realm and hasn't come back. He also beheaded his queen." Afton told him.
"I thought she was his soulmate." Gabriel said absently. He was thinking about South in the human realm.
