Chapter 15 Invitation to Beast pirates and Uncle!? ( part II)

Who the heck would get excited by pirates? At least a normal civilian wouldn't.

After some minutes, King looked toward Babanuki and said:

"Really? Are we that famous and popular nowadays?"

Hearing King's question Babanuki dumbly shook his head.

King then pulled out a bounty poster of him and signed it. After handing it to me, he then said:

"Well kid here you go. If you are interested you could join us the beast pirates. Since we are here to recruit some fresh blood into our ranks, and you look quite strong for your age."

He then turned into a magnificent pteranodon. While ordering Babanuki to leave, he loudly shouted:

"Tell your Chieftess that we will continue with our recruitment with or without her agreement. We can't wait for her any longer than we have waited. Also tell her that if we ever find out that you've corporated with Vodka Gongen, you will become beast pirate's eternal enemy."

Hearing King's threatening words I almost lost control of my bladder but thankfully his next words kind of calmed me down.

"By the way kid, we will be in the market town for the whole week. For every strong Oni that you bring to join us, you will get 10 million berries."

Saying that King then pinched Babanukis broad shoulder and flew away.

At last, all hope is not lost. For a moment I thought they would destroy the whole town. There is so much happening in the territory of Oni which I didn't know.

In the first palace, what is going on with the Market town? The crime rates are off the roof over there. Just a 30-minute walk and I almost died. Why hasn't she established law and order there?

What is the Armstrong family doing? After all the Onies are a vassal of them albeit with great autonomy, how could they let it reach this point of chaos?

Also, what is going on with beast Pirates being here? Is it for recruitment only or something else? Who is this Vodka Gongen?

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... so many questions and no answers."

Feeling frustrated I looked at the clearly tired and scared face of the gate guardian, asking:

"Where is my mother? Who is your superior?"

The guardian then replied :

"Chieftess left shortly after sending you away to the Market town, young master. Also, I am the highest-ranking officer in town currently since my superior and the strongest warriors left just before those two monsters came to bother us."

After getting the news from the guard, I went to rest inside our mansion and wait for mom. It's already way past midnight and by the looks of it there is nothing much that I can do to change the situation for the better.

In the first palace inside the Market town, I could see several people who were way stronger than your average neighborhood thug. Plus the newly added Beast pirates and whatever threat there was that mom needed to mobilize most of the guard from here.

None of them are things that I can deal with currently.

Damn it. I nearly pissed my pants just by just being in the presence of the king.

Slapping myself to change my mood. I went over all the experiences that I had today.

Concluding that I have to get stronger as quickly as possible, not to be satisfied with some taring and small progress. If I was only as strong as mom I wouldn't have to be so helpless now.

Before I realized it I was already inside the mansion. There I saw several drawings of Onies of different sizes and genders and the closest to the entrance was the picture of mom.

But strangely this was the only picture that had drawings of two people looking almost symmetrical. With one being a teenage boy and the other a young girl which was Mom back in the day.

Does that mean that I have an uncle now? If so why haven't I heard about it at all?

Sigh...

Well after all that I went through today, that's not a surprising thing anymore. Just have to add another thing to my list of questions.

Looking around I still didn't see any servant or maid coming to help even though I'd been inside for some time now.

"Ehm Ehm..."

After waiting several minutes the only thing that greeted me back was the echo of my voice.

No maid, no servant!? For such a big state. How does mom even keep this place clean?

Well, it seems that I've been spoiled since coming to this world with all the servants and maids that we have in Prosopon town.

I then proceeded to find the nearest bedroom. As soon as I found one I just went to sleep instantly leaving everything to the back of my mind.

By the time I woke up, it was already well into noon. Checking the kitchen there was nothing edible there except some utensils.

Deciding to find a restaurant to fill my growling stomach, I left the lonely and desolate manor.

After having a hearty meal my brain started restoring some power to work normally.

Thinking back to the events of yesterday and Mom's absence today. Since she made a promise to be at the manor by this morning, and well it's way past morning meaning something must have happened for her to break her promise.

After a session of brainstorming, I realized that there is not much that I can do currently, especially because of my lack of information. But I can't sit still as well since Mom might really be in trouble.

Making a plan in my head I went to find the gate guardian from yesterday, but I was surprised some young and inexperienced faces instead of the ones from yesterday.

Having a bad feeling in my heart, I then planned to introduce myself since they might not know me and ask them some questions from the youthful guards:

"Hey there friends. I am the son of chieftess JIMMY DONI. So you know where are the personals from yesterday ?"

But after asking them this question I noticed their relived expression as if a heavy load was lifted from their shoulders:

then a teenage-looking blue Oni with tiny horns and a height of 2 meters squeakily said:

"Thank god you are here young master. We also don't know what happened as well master. When we got here in the morning after our morning training, we saw that there was no one guarding the entrance."

Then another yellow-skinned Oni said:

"We are not sure about the protocols but since our instructors and officers are not present in town we decided to stand guard here."

Being caught off guard, I couldn't help but ask:

"What? You mean to tell me there is no guard or senior officer in the whole town!? How long have guys been in the town guard?"

Then the Blue skinned Oni said:

"Young master, as of now I am currently the most senior guard in the whole town beginning my training last year, and the other three are from the newly recruited batch last month."

Hearing this I truly felt distressed. what thehell hapened to the previuos guards? have they been kidnaped or they might have just ran away.

After taking some time to calm down I then said to the blue Oni:

"You did a good job. On top of that right now we don't have the luxury to worry about the protocols since the town is in a dire situation. Can you let me know what happened with the chieftess that she decided to rashly leave with the army?"

The blue Oni then put his hand under his chin and after a few seconds said:

"Young master I might not know all the details and story. But yesterday after you left we received a box from an unknown sender, which was weird in itself but the most unsettling part was the thick red and bloody finger that was inside."

Seemingly deep in thought, then he added:

"Seeing that, chieftess Ava went hysteric all of a sudden. Organizing most of the guard and militia, on an expedition toward the Market town direction."

Hearing that I got even more worried since whatever or whoever the threat is, can easily suppress an army of several hundred strong Oni and Mom. I just hope King is not involved in this.

Sigh...

This is well above my paycheck, and clearly, I don't have that much protagonist aura left so whoever I am going to face could slap me to death.

I then looked at the blue Oni asking:

"Hey what is your name warrior? Do you have any Den Den Mushi around?"

Looking excited the Blue Oni replied:
