Rica Island’s War #2

At the docking area that was connected to the Lawless Zone, many pirates and criminals were on board their ships as they were expecting to stay where they were for the night or go to the lawless zone later to help out with the battle that was coming.

Others remained in place because they were always remaining cautious as they weighed the variables and left themselves a path to escape.

If the lawless zone was defeated then the only way to retreat would be towards them where the enemy of the Lawless King would have a difficult time approaching unless they used boats to go around or ventured through the forest and took on the dangers that come with it so it would be difficult for others to approach without being noticed unless they chose to take such a path.

Even if they tried to use the method of going around by sea, the ships may be destroyed and looted upon approaching if they were not identified as an ally force.

The people on the docks or within their ships were quite relaxed but a change took place within the water as something started emerging from underneath.

Land was rising from beneath the water and a long neck and tail came out along with it not too far away.

Finally the large prehistoric looking head emerged from the water and then bit a large chunk out of a ship within a short moment and started destroying the ships and cut off their route for escape.

Many Fishmen arrived on the ships nearby and among them was Monera who laughed while revealing a sneaky looking grin as she cracked her knuckles. "Time to cut off their escape! Charge!"

Ness possessed a massive amount of destructive power just using the power of her long neck and tough head but the strong biting force was even more powerful as she destroyed many ships.

Several cannon balls and bullets were shot towards her but she just shrugged them off as if they were even less than tiny bug bites to her.

The added assistance of the Fishmen was more than enough to provide additional support to kill or subdue the enemy forces on board the ships or those on the island while the Merfolk provided support from the water and attacked the ships from below.

The many sea creatures continued to deal with those that fell into the water and attacked the ships from below before they made their way onto land to battle the people staying nearby as they had claimed the docks for themselves and successfully cut off the escape route for the enemy before the battle had even begun.

Monera smirked as she recalled the previous conversation. 'Indeed, it went just like they said it would. I guess that Ness played the biggest role in this and allowed for us to block their path and cause this much destruction. Alyssia sure does know how to make powerful creatures. I am kind of envious!'

Several hours ago, Alfred drew up the battle plans for Rica Island and brought up what would be happening during the battle. "We will keep this simple and attack one wall while the other will target the one facing the capital. This will split their defences and if we are successful, they will have two ways to escape from. The problem comes after this. Monera!"

Monera grinned as she raised her hand. "What is it you want me to do?"

Alfred continued. "Both walls will be used for their escape upon them looking like they will lose, their only path from there will be the docks or the surrounding forest or villages while they could also come across some other mountain area or ruins to hold up in temporarily. The most likely place for most of them to go would be the docks which would allow many to escape the island for good and allow them to evade the royals forces and pursuit."

A sly look appeared in Monera's eyes. "You want me to go and cut off the path of escape then.. but I do not think we can do that alone."

Alfred revealed a smile of satisfaction as he stated calmly. "That is why you will be taking Ness with you this time. She has not got to experience proper combat against humans yet so now is the time she can test her capabilities."

Monera revealed a look of excitement. "Excellent!"

In the present time, Monera looked over the mess created by the large sea creature and sighed. 'When it grows bigger, I can imagine that it will become even more fearsome! Giant Sea Kings… beware!'

Not long after the attack had begun on the docks, the people of the capital started moving from within their protective walls as their strongest warriors were brought out to fight and on another part of the island, the people of the White Storm were venturing deeper towards the central part of Rica Island where the Lawless Zone is.

Before the attack had even begun, an unexpected attack came from within the walls.

Inside the walls of the lawless zone, a man was walking out of tavern in a drunken stupor and stepped onto the ground which seemed to swallow them up.

They fell below into a hole and tried to regain their composure but before their eyes could adjust to the darkness, a claw tore through their throat which rendered them unable to even let out a single noise before they died.

A small figure climbed up from the hole and took out a large slingshot before opening fire upon the tavern.

Many small seeds flew inside and a combination of bamboo javelins and carnivorous plants caused chaos within as many screams followed.

The small figure disappeared back into the hole as the route behind her seemed to be destroyed and caved in as she continued onto the next destination just as the others were catching the attention of those within from outside of the walls, Yvie was able to attack several local inns, bars and strongholds before quickly escaping underground before she was found.

Wherever she passed, there would be many who were eaten by the carnivorous plants and they would be pierced by the bamboo javelins.

Few were able to be saved but her little covert mission allowed her to sneak attack them and get away while the people nearby would then be attracted to those locations because of the screams inside.

She made use of her digging abilities as she was able to dig under and through the stone wall to create a path for herself and then move about freely within the walls of the lawless zone.

Underneath the ground within a small tunnel that she was burrowing, Yvie wiped the dirt from her face and sighed. "This is such a tiring and filthy task but I cannot complain since this type of task suits my abilities. Hmph! That old man had better pay me back for this!"

Some time ago, Alfred pointed to the map where the walls were. "One of the problems that we will have to deal with is their large numbers that will be protecting the walls from within while some may even confront us directly. Until we can break past the walls or open a gate, we cannot possibly gain a truly advantageous position in this war. So… Yvie!"

Yvie rolled her eyes. "What is it? Hmph!"

Alfred sighed as he pointed to the walls. "Among us, there are quite a few that can break past the walls but they would all be facing direct fire from all directions. We need someone to use more covert methods to break past the wall and cause chaos within and reduce their numbers. We can take advantage of that chaos to weaken their defences on the walls and gain the chance to create a gap where we can enter. If you can reduce their numbers enough, you can attempt to open the gates. However first I want to to focus on attacking any places that large amounts of people may gather together or any of the main strongholds or places to store food or other materials."

Yvie glared at him. "Why give me this kind of task?!"

Alfred shook his head. "I know that you are still young and this is asking a lot of you but I believe in your capabilities. You have received direct training from Alyssia so you should not be any less useful than any of us. With your transformation, you can easily infiltrate within the walls and complete this task. All you need to do is remain vigilant and escape once you have been noticed or have completed an attack so that you can remain safe."

Yvie frowned and then nodded slowly. "Alright but I want an extra share of the Boin treats!"

Alfred waved his hand lazily. "Fine, it is a deal."

Yvie revealed a small and cute smile before suppressing it as she looked towards Alfred indifferently. "Hmph!"
