New Home, New Life

A bus stops in front of an average type of apartment. From there, a lady in blue dress appeared and immediately went inside the apartment.

She showed her calling card to the landlord when he asked for details.

"So your name is Jessica Suzumiya?" he asked.

"Yes"

"Let me ask you how much is your budget for this apartment?" He asked again.

"Huh?" She was lost the moment the landlord asked that question. It seems she's not prepared for the monthly expenses. As far as she remember, she only prepared for 3 months deposit, 2 months advance and another 1 month of rent. That excludes utility bills such as electricity and water.

"M-Maybe... around... 3000?" She answered.

"Are you making fun of me?!" The landlord yelled. "You should know that once you decide to live alone, you should consider all factors including your cost of living!"

"I am willing to share rooms!" she finally said it.

The landlord looked at her, eye to eye. The two of them didn't budge.

"Hmmm... Let's see if there's someone who's willing to share a bed with a penny pincher like you." He said that while looking at the database of his apartment whether someone's looking for a roomie.

Few minutes later. The landlord stops scrolling.

"Well I guess, it's your lucky day." The landlord said the moment he found someone.

"Really?"

"Yes. He's a man. I hope you're at your legal age the moment you decided to live alone." He said with concern with the lady.

"I am 24. Thanks for your concern." She responded.

"Well then, according to this man's demands, it doesn't matter if you're a guy or a girl for as long as you respects personal space."

"That will do but how much is the rent in his apartment?"

"The total amount including electricity, water and internet is approximately 15,000. But given that we're talking on 'this guy', you should be fine in terms of expenses."

"What do you mean?" This time, she's asking the question.

But the landlord didn't answer and instead, he guided her to that man's apartment number.

The landlord pressed the doorbell and the intercom: "Mr. Brightnell, someone would like to share a room with you."

They didn't hear any answer but the door opened a few minutes later.

From there, they saw a young man wearing an unbuttoned polo and boxers shorts.

"Come in."
