Chapter 7

Stormshadu crouched beside John both peered past the bushes beyond were four ogres hacking the hide of the dead red dragon. One ogre was using a spear to poke the abdomen bloated with gasses. Several other creatures including six legged basilisks gnawing on the tail. "Father it all looks so delicious" said John "My son you're always so hungry. Can you blow your fire on that big belly?"

The explosion stunned all creatures while killing one ogre outright. The blast thundered a distant echo. Stormshadu charged ahead entering his fire dance as he met the closest ogre. His twin katanas flashed up, left, down and decapitated head rolled away. Meanwhile John had raced to the bloodied top while radiating his frightening draconian presence. All the surrounding creatures recognized the sudden dragon presence and raced away.

John lowered his snout to inhale the ancient red dragon's aura. He recognized his old competitor, Hongshiji, as the corpse he stood upon. In the end John had his sweet revenge as he began rapidly gorging on Hongshiji.

After the grisly business of collecting the cores of the surrounding monsters Stormshadu stored the leftovers in his ring. He again wondered what he would do when it couldn't store anymore. He looked over to John happily eating with his belly fully distended. He should collect the core and stomach before John ate those. Who knows what treasures would be in there. "Father I'm full and feel sleepy." As he rolled off the top to the ground. Stormshadu's collection rose to fifty monster cores with the red dragon core looking like a dull football sized ruby. The cores and the rest of the red dragon stored safely in the ring Stormshadu hoisted John over his shoulders a carried him back to the inn.

Flynn led Stor and the dark elf called Piper to Jor Jor Outfitters. The rustic smell of the wood burning stove permeated the air. Joshua received the token of the Adventurers Guild Inn. "Well I've received the token and thank you for it. Then pick anything you like to replace what you lost." Quipped Joshua. Piped immediately grabbed two quivers of arrows followed by a compound longbow, three magic daggers and six swords. He was eyeing a whip, two suits of chain mail and a flying carpet too.
