Chapter 3

As the duel began to escalate and neither side looked like they were going to give in Tibil finally said "Winner!" The entire crowd looked at the dueling circle in sheer wonder when all of a sudden the crowd began to cheer Jehanne's name. (There's no way! That farm girl shouldn't have been able to beat Prince Charles!) Brutus thought with anger as he clenched his fist. Jehanne walked over to Prince Charles and stretched out her hand but he instead smacked it away as he put pressure on his wound and Brutus came to aid him.

"This isn't over, farm girl." Brutus commented. "That was awesome! Jehanne I honestly didn't think you were going to win that duel especially with a rapier." "It's not the sword that makes the swordsmen but it's how you flow with it that defines your personality." "Excuse me Miss Jehanne, Sister Agatha. May I borrow her for a moment." "Sure Tibil." Tibil held out his hand and Jehanne took it as they began to walk. "Where are you taking me?" "One of my favorite places in this whole dreary place. Plus I've got something for you."

As Tibil led Jehanne to a cavern she began to look around but wasn't impressed. "What exactly is this supposed to be?" "The moon's light should be striking right about now!" As the Moon's light reflected onto the cavern's lake fluorescent fungi and butterflies began to light up and fly around. I chuckled as I looked around and watched as the butterflies flew around me. "What in the world?" "One of God's many miracles I call it: The Glowing Cavern. It's what I like to call my cushion." "Your Cushion?" "It's a way of saying my sense of peace. Everyone has their own sense of peace in this horrific world. Find what your cushion is and hold onto it tight. You'll be amazed at what you can do when you think of the future." Tibil moved a stray hair out of my face as we leaned in I quickly stopped myself.

"No I can't." "No, I'm sorry. It's my fault." "I need to go get the food and head back home." "What is it that you need to get?" "Flour, Salted Pork, and Butter." "Don't go out there alone especially at night. I'll accompany you." "Alright." As Tibil and I began to make our way back up to city level a patrol walked past our sewer grate. "It's clear. Let's go" Tibil said as he helped me up when something knocked him to the ground. "Tibil!" I scrambled to get up. "Stay there Jehanne!" (If one more damned man acts like I'm a damsel I'm going to scream.)

(Sweet Child of God.) (Who are you? Why are you in my mind?) (Ah, I see you're not used to my true form well here how about this vessel.) (Archangel Michael!) (Yes, and here I am here to give you the presents of God.) (What do you mean?) (He's chosen you to be a messenger, no a champion of the light while working in the night.) (What do you mean?) (He has bestowed me the honor of unlocking your true eyes. The Eyes of Eden and ability to sense demonic and Dark Magic! You must protect Prince Charles VII and get him to the throne.) (Do I have to? He's so rude.) (You know not to question the will of god.)

Archangel Michael touched my forehead and all of a sudden there was a blinding light. I opened my eyes to see Tibil just barely defending himself against four of the Witches Of Damocles. I quickly scrambled out of the sewer and drew my rapier. "Hey ugly Betty!" The four witches turned to me and began to come after me. (Probably shouldn't have done that.) I stood firm and all of a sudden I could sense their foul dark magic. "Jehanne!" Tibil yelled as he tossed me his sword. "Use my sword! It's been blessed and coated with holy water." I grabbed Tibil's sword and readied myself for battle.

"Hey, stay pure." I said. "As snow." Tibil commented back, as he drew his holy dagger. Three howlers appeared out of the shadows along with five English soldiers. "The hell? English soldiers. Have they already invaded the town near this settlement?" (Father, Mother, Mara!) Tibil jumped in front of me and said: "Get your head out of the night fog and into the light. I'll be here to pick you up from the depths of despair even if my final fantasy can't be realized." I shook off the despair I felt and steeled myself as me and Tibil attacked the enemy.
