CHAPTER SIXTY SEVEN: Confession all the way

Jillian's Pov

By the time i reached Joan's hospital it was nearly dark, i alighted in hatse and ran into the hospital. I could see some patients and staffs staring at me then at Jack who seem Oblivion to everything around him.

I'm very sure the news tomorrow will be about the mayors, no doubt in it.

" Jack " I called in a low tone, i ran to him as if i haven't seen him a very long time ago. " What is going on? Had the doctors said anything ? " I asked and he shook his head tiredly.

Suddenly we heard a running footsteps, jack and I both turned back to see Han running towards us.

" What is going on? Where is she ? " He asked breathlessly as soon as he got to us.

Swiftly jack dashed to him and with much force got him pinned against the wall with a glare and a tight grip that I gasp in shock.

I know Jack will be like this, he has always been a guy with much actions and less talk.

" If anything happens to my sister, i swear to God I won't spare you " He said coldly to han who released himself from Jack's grip.

" Nothing will happen to her, you are Jack Mayor. Get yourself together " He informed the professional swimmer in a shivering voice.

I know he isn't sure of what he had Just said but he said so to keep the tension that has build in us away.

" Where is she? " Han asked again gently staring at both jack and I.

" Where else? What do you think I'm still in this hospital for ? " Jack replied hotly.

Han didn't reply, he just buried his face in the hollow of his palm and sighed deeply. The peoples who were watching us was increasing bit by bit but we three care less. All we want is for Maureen and her baby to be alright which I doubt fearfully due to the blood i witnessed coming out of her.

An elegant woman in a Jean and expensive looking top walk towards us. She is so beautiful but much on the older age, the make over she wore makes her age not too obvious but honestly her appearance is breathe taking.

We. Jack, Han and i stare at the woman for a long time without saying any words.

She in return stare at us without a word too and finally her gaze went over to han.

Huh! Is she the one?

Han's mother? Who killed Mayor?

No way! No just way! I screamed in my mind.

Her gaze then turned to Jack and she smiles gently.

" I have always wanted to caught the mighty Jack mayor's attention, guess i did now " She said smiling bitterly.

Okay i see it and I'm very sure han and Jack saw it too. The smile she had on does not wipe away the bitterness on her face nor do the makeover help much on that part.

" Who are you? " Jack asked staring hard at the beautiful woman.

She didn't replied at first because her gaze now was on Han.

" My son " She murmurs staring at Han.

SHIT! She is the one. Oh my goodness, why did she appear now of all time.

" Son? Then it's true then that you killed Mayor. I'm not your son " Han replied so quickly and so breathlessly. He clenched his hands into a fist as if he is restraining himself for any destruction.

Jack look away , clenching his teeth. He sighed repeatedly to keep calm. To listen to the one who was the reason his life has been turned like it is now.

He fumed for sometime, mumbling audibly until he finally faced the woman who stood patiently, waiting for any questions.

" You kill my dad? " That was the first question Jack Mayor asked. He feign calmness but I'm sure it's only time for him to lashes out.

" I didn't " The woman responded easily as if she has practice this event more than a thousands time.

Han gasped in shock at her, the people looking at us now brought out their cellphone to video us. This is bad but i know , i have always known that the Mayors life is always on the media.

Everyone knows about the death of mayor, the conflict that follows his Death and now this!

" How do you mean you didn't kill him? Mr Mike said you poisoned him with an odourless liquid " Han retoted in a cold voice, pinning the woman with a glare.

In response the beautiful woman look away guiltly, she sighed heavily with sadness written boldly on her face.

I'm sure she hated the fact that her son sees her as a murderer and nothing more.

" Mayor wants to kill himself so he begged me for that poison " she revealed earning a sharp exhaled from me.

" Why would my dad wants to kill himself? He has two children, a life and company for goodness sake " Jack asked, he was sweating despite the air conditioner in the hospital and i understand why.

You can't be someone loathing another person thinking he killed your dad then was told by that same person you thought was the killer that your dad was actually killed by a woman , the mother to your brother in law... In a way and then finally find out that no, your dad actually killed himself.

Sorry but i just don't Know. This is very bad.

" When your dad's company, mayor's creation was going into bankruptcy your father who love his company like never before, who thought of it as his legacy got sick from the shock. He begged mike ,his friend for a huge loan and the latter borrowed him with the clause that if he failed to repay the money in due time he will have to forfeit his company to him"

" So you telling me now that my dad signed off his whole properties for just a stupid loan? How much is it? " Jack snapped at the woman.

" Mike knew mayor's creation is a dying company so he did as he always does, he threaten your father to sign off all his properties to him or else you and your sister will be in danger. "

The confession, the Revelation hit everyone so bad, especially Jack. He staggered backward in great shock.

" Father signed off all his life work for his children? " He managed to whispers.

The woman nodded in response

" He did, all his everything just for the sake of you and your sister. So you won't be harmed. Mike stole it all but then , what if i tell you Mayor is in greater debt than everyone of us could imagine? His properties all turn to be a worry for Mike. That is the reason he loathe you for nothing "

Jack exhaled deeply , frowning he said " That must be why he hated the idea of me creating another Mayors company. So all my father's wealth was going into drain even before he gave them away to that thief of a man ? " Jack asked.

" Yes, he was much relieve. It would have been a pain in your neck if you have inherit it. He couldn't face you then so he pleaded and requested for the poison which i gave him " she answered silently looking away.

I sighed softly " I thought he signed off his properties because of a woman " i said in a low tone. I heard it from the kidnappers that Mayor gave away his properties for a woman, guess they are wrong.

" You shouldn't have given him the poison, don't you think about us? His children ? " Jack asked in a low rasp voice trying to stay calm.

" I take orders, that is who i am. " She answered, turning to han she smile " i know you will be fine on your own, from the day i gave birth to you to the day i abandoned you i have known then that you will surely be fine " She said sniffing to keep tears from flowing.

Han gulped forcefully looking away.

" Why did you abandon me? My life would have been better assuming you are there for me " He croaked out and the woman sniffed again.

" It won't, you might be killed. The path i took was a very dangerous one. Working for a dangerous man then, got pregnant by mistake and all. It is the only right thing to do, to save you i had to abandon you and I'm not sorry about it because it is a right choice " She said smiling sadly.

" How do you know my dad? You are what? An assassin ? " Jack asked in a frustrated voice.

" I am not an assassin , i took order " She responded but Han quickly replied.

" What orders? From who ? "

" Just like how you needed Logan to clean up your mess, i am one to clean up your dad's too " She replied tilting her head.

" Really? " Jack asked and she nodded.

" Really "
