Chapter 47: The two families return home

Bai Yi Yang was taking her time finishing the physics homework, when she was done with it, she show it to Bai Yi Chen proudly. This makes Bai Yi Chen become a bit depressed, he just finished his Chemistry homework and started on physics as well, but Bai Yi Yang has finished it easily. He also feels that she is holding herself back, if not she will have finished much sooner.

Bai Yi Chen feels like he is being pressured these days, the rate he is going with his homework now is already the fastest he has ever done before. The homework is not only up to the syllabus that they had learned, the teachers actually ask them to also attempt on new topics, and Bai Yi Yang solved it with ease.

When did she study? Did she study behind his back? Or as she said, she really remember everything from her dream? But it doesn't make sense, aren't we suppose to forget most details in dreams after a while? What more things like what she had studied before in details.

"I am sleepy, I want to rest. Ge, you still going to continue?" Bai Yi Yang put the books into her bags.

"En..you go sleep.." Bai Yi Chen nod with a frown. He really cannot relax like Bai Yi Yang, he still have enough time to finished it before school start, but he really cannot fall too far behind from Bai Yi Yang. What more, he have the pride of having better grades than her before ah.

Bai Yi Yang grinned, this is actually a small revenge to Bai Yi Chen who forced her to study before. Bai Yi Yang went into the bedroom after that, the Li daughters has also went in to sleep earlier with their parents, so does the Bo old couple. There is only them left in the living room, with Bo Yuan and Li Su Nong. Bai Yi yang bring Bai Yi Ling inside to sleep. Li Su Nong also fall asleep in the living room, he ask Bai Yi Chen to woke him up if he returns to the room later. Now only Bai Yi Chen and Bo Yuan who is still diligently studying.

"You still not sleepy?" Bai Yi Chen ask Bo Yuan. It is a lie if he never heard about Bo Yuan from his siblings, but he is also like Bai Yi Yang, he got to know Bo Yuan for the first time, so he has quite a good impression on him, he is quite a good grandson to the old Bo couple.

"Sleepy, but I saw Yi Ling homework is almost finished. I still have a lot to do." Bo Yuan answer. He wasn't really the studious kind, but his marks is still average because he was born bright. As long as he passed the exam, it was enough, but when he took a glance at Bai Yi Ling neat writing in her book, he feels a bit threatened.

"Xiao Ling has been doing her homework diligently, so it's natural that she has done a lot." Bai Yi Chen smile, he is feeling what Bo Yuan is feeling now.

"Then I will do some more also." Bo Yuan said.

"En. Ask me if you don't understand." Bai Yi Chen said before both of them engrossed into the book again.

They only went to bed when it was almost 12 am. Of course by this time Bai Yi Yang and her siblings are sound asleep, it was so comfortable sleeping under the blanket in the cold weather.

The next morning come in a blink, Bai Yi Yang woke up to the old Bo couple and Second Li in the kitchen. Grandma Bo is currently making noodle from flour while chatting with her husband and Second Li. Last night, Bai Yi yang had mentioned about cooking noodle, Grandma Bo immediately said that she will make handmade noodle instead. Bai Yi Yang enter the kitchen and greet them.

"Eldest yatou, me and your Uncle Li went to see the flood this morning and it really has went down a lot. The rain has been this weak since last night. What you said is really true." Grandpa Bo said with a smile.

"That's good. Before afternoon, the rain will completely stop. Can the road be seen now?" Bai Yi Yang said.

"Only the higher area, by afternoon, the water will be completely drained." Second Li said. He confidently stated that because of Bai Yi Yang statement, he had fully trust this girl by now.

"Finally we can return and stop troubling your family.." Grandma Bo sigh, her heavy heart is slightly lifted.

"Grandma, don't say, we siblings also has adults to depend on during these time. If not, with the continuous heavy rain, the small one may get scared." Bai Yi Yang smile sincerely. She doesn't have issue with the two family, they are kind and simple. Grandma Bo nod and smile.

"Eldest yatou is so kind.." Grandma Bo said. Now she is looking at her with more soft smile.

Bai Yi Yang blushed, she immediately change the topic as they talked. When Grandma Bo finished making the noodle, Bai Yi Yang stood up to start cooking.

"Eldest yatou, I will go pick some tomato and take come chives." Grandpa Bo volunteer and uncle Li tagged behind. Now Bai Yi Yang and Grandma Bo is the only one left in the kitchen, boiling the noodle.

"We have talked with the Second Li family. Initially we only bought our own rice and some dried goods to eat but we didn't take it out because we see that your house didn't lack these things. So after this flood passed, we wanted to repay you with 50 yuan/per person." Grandma Bo said. Bai Yi Yang was shocked, she never had thought that the two family thinks of giving her money instead.

"Grandma Bo.." Bai Yi Yang frown, she immediately put down the ladle in her hand.

"What are you talking about? We will never accept money. We siblings help you two family not because of these reason. If you are doing this, you are looking down on us orphans." Bai Yi Yang said firmly.

"Eldest yatou, I know all of you is kind. 50 yuan is too little but that is our way of repaying you for the good food. How can we all just turn our back and eat your family grain." Grandma Bo said, explaining.

"Grandma, if that was the case. Then next time if you have good things to eat, then just ask Xiao Bo Yuan to send it here then, you can repay us siblings and we families can also become closer. If you are bored at home and we siblings are at home, you can come over and sit for a chat." Bai Yi Yang said.

"What are you talking about? Isn't that natural things to do since our family is this close now, but that is one matter and this time…" Grandma Bo wanted to insist but getting cut off by Bai Yi Yang.

"Since our family is that close already, then there is nothing else to say. Grandma Bo, the noodle will swell up." Bai Yi Yang cut off the conversation, she really will not accept money. She turn to look at the noodle in the pot instead. Grandma Bo sigh, but then her smile also become brighter.

"Alright, alright. Won't talk about money." Grandma Bo laugh and stir the boiling noodle. Only then did Bai Yi Yang started another topic. Not long after, instead of Grandpa Bo and Uncle Li, Li Su Ning came in with the basket of vegetables.

"My father is explaining about the doors to Grandpa Bo." Li Su Ning said without being asked. Both Grandma Boa and Bai Yi Yang nod. Li Su Ning then enter the kitchen to start washing the vegetables.

"Yi Yang jie, how should I cut it?" Li Su Ning ask.

"Just cut the tomato into medium size cubes, then the chives is for making chives pancakes." Bai Yi Yang answer. Remembering that she need to make the pancakes batter, she leave Grandma Bo with the noodle.

In no time, she finished making a large bowl of pancakes batter, Grandma Bo has also took out the noodle so she proceed with making the tomato egg soup for the noodle. Bai Yi Yang use the brazier to make chives pancakes. When she saw Li Su Ning swallowed her saliva, Bai Yi Yang let her have a taste and after that Grandma Bo also had a taste.

"It's delicious! Its like food sold in the market." Li Su Ning said.

"You can make this easily at home, it is fragrant and delicious. You can deep it in soy sauce, I will make some sauce later." Bai Yi Yang said. After that, she let Li Su Ning know how to mak the batter then let her tried to make a few pancakes. Just like that, bowls with steaming hot soup is served with a piles of crispy chives pancakes.

The Bai siblings and the two families eat the meal heartily. The unfinished chives pancakes was reheated and it became their snacks while waiting for the rain to stop completely..

Bai Yi Yang didn't go to her workshop this morning, she went to sit and chat with the two families as they watch the drizzling rain. She also helped the two lady with their laundry, they are still not used to it since last time it was Bai Yi Ling who helped them.

As Bai Yi Yang predicted, the rain stopped at 10.30 am. Bai Yi Yang joined the two adult to go down the mountain, they went to see the flood. The water has disappeared from the road, only debris and mud can be seen on the road side now. The smiles on the two men brighten, as expected, no matter how comfortable they are, home is the best place to be.

Grandpa Bo and Uncle Li become more spirited as they talk about a lot of things on the way home. When they returned, they immediately told their family to pack. They are returning before midday.

"Why not stay for lunch, it doesn't make a big difference returning now or later." Bai Yi Yang said. But in her heart she knows that the two family has made a decision to leave as early as possible.

"No, no, no. There area lot of cleanup to do, we need to return as soon as possible." Grandpa Bo said, smile didn't leave his face.

"We are also the same. I can guess that the house is in a mess." Second Li support.

"En, alright then. There will be soft drizzle in the evening but do not worry, it is only that." Bai Yi Yang said.

"Eldest yatou, after these two days, we believe your words entirely." Second Li said.

The two family finished packing quickly and they leave the mountain before midday, there is nothing much to pack to begin with. Grandma Bo seems to have talked with the Li family, they didn't give her money but promised to send their children to send them good things later. Bai Yi Yang didn't reject, it is their good intentions. It is better than giving money to her. They siblings send the families to the gate, the children are still shouting goodbye even if their figure cannot be seen anymore.

The house feels a bit empty now after the two families left. Bai Yi Yang went into the rooms they used and found it clean but still she clean it again one more time.

Bai Yi Ling has entered the kitchen to cook rice, they decided to eat fried egg with soy sauce since they are not really hungry from the meal during breakfast. But it is not good to skip meal and disturb their meal cycle, so a very simple meal is enough.

In the evening, Bai Yi Yang didn't took a nap, she went straight to her workshop to finish the two bedroom door left, then make a door for the East house entrance.

Lastly, she made a sketch for the bathroom and toilet. She actually wanted to use simple wood for the bathroom but there are still a lot of wood left, so she ended up using the same type of wood for the bathroom. The most important thing is actually the lock, their current bathroom only has simple lock. Well, at least it is locked. She laugh in her heart.

When Bai Yi Ling called her in concern, she was already making the last bathroom door. She actually works until 6.30 pm. No wonder it was much dimmer than before. Bai Yi Yang lights up the workshop room, it wasn't as bright as the rest of the house, she didn't ask Uncle Lu to add any new lights in here. She was never planning on working at night, this is the first and may be the last time. She just wanted to finished the door as fast as she can.
