Chapter 36: Small conflict and Doing homework

Bai Yi Yang also didn't ask the two younger one to bath, they just brush their teeth and wash their face, then change into long sleeve and long pants to sleep. Bai Yi Ling and the two small one huddle together to watch cartoon in her phone while Bai Yi Yang was called over by Bai Yi Chen to do homework.

Earlier, Bai Yi Chen half dragged her to sit at the table in the living room and he took out all the exercise books that she need to finish before the school start. Yes, you heard that right, homework. Bai Yi Yang is a student so it is natural that she will have a lot of homework during holiday.

Bai Yi Chen didn't say anything all these while because Bai Yi Ling was behaving oddly and he needed time to adapt to her new behaviour, but he noticed that she didn't even bother to open her books these days when she was more serious in her studies than him before. He is worried if she doesn't want to study anymore after she start making large sum of money. Their parents said that they cannot forget about education, that's why he insist on continuing school despite need to take careof his siblings.

"I already know all of these, why do I need to answer it again?" Bai Yi Yang protest when Bai Yi Chen told her to finish all the pages of midterm homework. She pushed it away in distaste.

"Because we need to hand them over as soon as the school start in two weeks. If you don't start now you need to stay up later to finish them." Bai Yi Chen said, he use the same tone when he is talking seriously to his three younger siblings. He had finished half of the homework but Bai Yi Yang hasn't started, even if she told the teacher that she was sick for the past week, she need to at least finish half right?

"I don't want to, it's wasting my time." Bai Yi Yang said frowning, not wanting to lose at all.

"If you don't, the teacher will deduct mark from your exam, you may not be able to stay in our class. Yang Yang, you put importance in your grade the most before these." Bai Yi Chen said again. They are in the top class in their grade. Bai Yi Yang placement are usually in the top 10 like him, but with the mark deduction she may be in the lower batch of the class and may fall to Class 2.

"So what. Ge, we can pay for our tuition now. I don't care about a mere useless grades that I can't even eat." Bai Yi Yang said stubbornly. Bai Yi Chen sigh, he don't know how to talk to her stubborn sister now.

"Yang Yang, these grades is not only to get the scholarship, you know that to enter university, our overall performance will be evaluated, it is good to have stable high results. In our final year, even if we got good results, we may not be picked because our grades are not stable." Bai Yi Chen remind her about the teacher's words when they enter senior high school.

Bai Yi Yang saw the complicated look in Bai Yi Chen face but she wasn't going to give in just because she wanted him to be happy. Studying until she ignore living properly is something that she doesn't want to repeat again, it was somehow traumatic too in a sense.

"Ge, in the future, I don't plan to enter university. I am going to transform this mountain, become a farmer or whatever and earn money by doing various things, I won't work with the government or big companies." Bai Yi Yang said her stand.

"But..didn't you always like studying? Our parents…they.." Bai Yi Chen look at her with awe, he actually never ask her about her dreams, they were only focusing on getting good grades, enter the university and get job.

That was what they were taught, their parents are educators, they taught their children since they can understand words, all the teachings are so that they can become just like them, a university graduates and have a stable job. But now, he also start to question his goals in life, did he really wanted to be like most people too?

"Not anymore. Nearly losing my life, I want to live a fulfilling life, when I want to play I play, when I feel sleepy I sleep, when I want a vacation I can go anytime." Bai Yi Yang said. She wanted to say much more but she saw Bai Yi Chen expression is not very good, so she stopped.

"I know early education is important, our parents also has the same mindset..so for now I will listen to you." Bai Yi Yang change her tone, she stop insisting on her mindset to appease Bai Yi Chen for now.

When she saw him not responding to her, she start working on her homework. She feels so bitter inside but then she at least need to finish high school right with flying colours right? This is to convince Bai Yi Chen that she can do well without having to enters university.

Bai Yi Chen was frozen on his seat even after a few minutes, he is now stirred. He doesn't know what to say. Bai Yi Yang is right, aren't they doing this so that they will have a stable life in the future? Earn money for the family? There are so many ways, why did he insist on following their parents footsteps?

Bai Yi Yang sigh when she saw him being like this and stop writing. It is normal, his belief is challenged.

"Ge, I know my mindset now may sounds wrong from your point of view. Let's talk about it later when we finished senior high schools, alright? I will listen to you, I will graduate with good results and won't get demoted, don't worry." Bai Yi Yang said and pat his shoulder. Bai Yi Chen still didn't answer, he just look at his twin with a frown, but it wasn't an angry or dissatisfied frown, it more like he don't understand her thinking. And he is confused too.

"I am thinking about my future too. You continue, let Xiao Mo sleep here tonight." Bai Yi Chen stood up and leave the main house. He didn't even arrange his books and he also leave his phone on the table. Bai Yi Yang didn't stop him, he just listen as he went into the East house but come out again later.

'Did he go out in the middle of the night?' Bai Yi Yang asked the system.

'Yes. Bai Yi Chen bring a torch with him and went down the mountain.'The system answer.

'Should I go chase after him..what if he do something stupid because he was too shock?'

'Nah..just a teenager dilemma. He will be fine.'The system answer.

'How do you know these things now?' Bai Yi Yang chuckled at the system.

'Since Host is going to give me skin, I was learning on how to be a good pet. There is this things call 'being sensible', know when to push forward and when to retreat. Host you have said enough, it is Bai Yi Chen turns to think it over.' The system said.

'Anyway, why are you calling his name like that? If you became a cat in this house, he will become your master. He is the most attentive in this house, he will feed you when I forgot to.' Bai Yi Yang said.

'Ohh..then, gege?' The system ask.

'Gege your ass..' Bai Yi Yang laugh aloud.

After that Bai Yi Yang applied her existing knowledge and do the homework like crazy. Only by sitting there for one night, she already finished two exercise book of two different subject until the pages that Bai Yi Chen mark just now. If she do this for a few more days, she can finish her homework in not time.

Their school has many subjects, there are Chinese language, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, foreign language which is English, history, geography, ideology and politics, arts, technology and physical education.

Out of these subjects, most of the homework are from Chinese language, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and English language. There are a few from history, geography and ideology and politics. As for the others, there are no formal homework that need to be submitted.

Bai Yi Yang look over her school bag and saw the small notebook with all the homework written on it, from page what to what. She quickly tick the English language and biology homework that she has completed.

These are child play, wait until she finished them all, she will put this in front of Bai Yi Chen and even let him copy it. Bai Yi Yang was determined.

She started at the Chinese language homework without looking at the watch, her hands move like a machine and her brain quickly thought of the answers of the multiple choice question. Then she answers the short answer questions after thinking for a while, she scan through the articles and answers without hesitation. Her reading skills is also very strong, if not, how can she goes through all the research articles as reference in writing her thesis all these years?

After that she start writing the essay. With her current level of knowledge, give her any current issue, she can write about it in many ways, don't say only one essay per topic. One essay , two essay, third..

"Jie..you are still awake?" Bai Yi Ling who walk out if the room to go to the toilet asked. She was woken up and her elder sister is not sleeping inside the room, who knows that she is still doing her homework this late.

"Oh, Xiao Ling?" Bai Yi Yang who is engrossed in writing essay look up. She took her phone and look at the time, it was already 12.30 am. No wonder the children are all sound asleep now.

"I am going to sleep..you go to the toilet first. I will wait for you." Bai Yi Yang said.

'System, where is Bai Yi Chen?' She asked.

'Host, you told me not to call him Bai Yi Chen.' The systems answer.

'Anyway..where is him?' Bai Yi Yang ask.

'Outside the gate. He saw the lamp is still on so he didn't dare to go in' What an emotional boy, Bai Yi Yang thought.

After Bai Yi Ling came out of the bathroom, she follow him into the bedroom to sleep after turning off a few lamp, only leaving the one near the bathroom. Bai Yi Yang also feels that it is a bit late so she didn't play with her phone anymore and went to sleep straight away. And the next morning, Bai Yi Yang really woke up later than usual. All her siblings has wake up, even the two difficult to wake one.

It wasn't that late to be honest, only 7.30 am in the morning but when she came out of the Main house, she saw the two children are already playing near Bai Yi Ling plants stand, then when she come into the kitchen, there is already an outsider sitting in their dinner table. Oh, so early. Bai Yi Yang smile and went inside the kitchen to greet the guest.
