Chapter 37: Cutting bigger tree

"Mr. Zhang, you are so early." Bai Yi Yang greet. Zhang Yong smile as he saw her walk into the kitchen. Still handsome as always, Bai Yi Yang thought.

"Yeah, sorry to disturb you. Your sister said that you stayed up all night to do homework so you woke up late today. I almost forgot that you are a high school student." Zhang Yong said with a grin. Bai Yi Yang curse silently, which one of her sister talked about her to outsider?

"En. Anyway, are you going to start working today?" Bai Yi Yang ask, she took a seat and pour herself a cup of water.

"Not today unfortunately, suddenly I have urgent things to do in City Nan, that is why I came here early in the morning. I can only start working on Thursday the earliest." Zhang Yong said.

"Then that is better, it's going to rain heavily for the next few days, I was a bit worried about having to cook outside." Bai Yi Yang said as she look outside the window at the sky. Zhang Yong ignore Bai Yi Yang overconfident weather forecast and only nod in agreement.

"Jie, do you want me to cook the fried rice?" Bai Yi Ling ask. She already prepared all the ingredients, only waiting for Bai Yi Yang to cook it.

"No, I will cook it." Bai Yi Yang said.

"Mr.Zhang, have you had your breakfast?" Bai Yi Yang ask as Zhang Yong seems to have no plan to leave or anything. She is giving him a clue that if there is nothing else, he can leave since she is going to get busy.

"Not yet, I will appreciate a bowl for breakfast." Zhang Yong said shamelessly. He even stood up and started looking around.

"Hahaha..Of course we have spare chopsticks for you." Bai Yi Yang awkwardly laugh.

"Xiao Ling, go get some cucumber." She then said to Bai Yi Ling as she started cooking.

Bai Yi Yang then heat the iron pot, scoop out lard and start frying the fried rice. Bai Yi Ling chopping skills is not very good, but the objective is achieved, the ingredients was finely chopped. Bai Yi Yang also saw that the clay pot that is already being heated on the brazier, Xiao Ling is really dependable.

After finish cooking the fried rice, she scoop it into a big bowl and Zhang Yong who has been waiting behind her took the big bowl to the dinner table. Don't know since when, he is already going around the kitchen doing chores.

Bai Yi Yang didn't say anything and let him be, she quickly smashed the fresh washed cucumber and season it, and one cold dish to be eaten with the fried rice is done.

"Xiao Ling, you call the two to wash their hands, and your gege too.." Bai Yi Yang said. Bai Yi Ling went outside and drag the two children to wash their hands. Bai Yi Yang and Zhang Yong is already seated when the three children sat at their respective place.

"Your gege?" Bai Yi Yang asked Bai Yi Ling.

"Gege is not inside the room, I don't know where he is." Bai Yi Ling answer. Bai Yi Yang doesn't want to make their small conflict from last night to be obvious especially since there is a stranger here, so, she just tell everyone to eat first. She put aside a portion for Bai Yi Chen and they start eating.

Zhang Yong was full of praise, he ate heartily and didn't leave any food left in his plate and bowls. He was quite talkative, luckily there are Bai Yi Ling and Bai Yi Mo who answers his inquiries and all.

After they finished breakfast, only then did Bai Yi Ling remember that she promised to give Zhang Yong dried mushrooms. She quickly pack it, the portion is a little more than what she gave the workers. It was because he was the one who inspired her to start giving it to the workers since he was the first one that ask for it.

"This is a lot, but I won't reject it." Zhang Yong said as he took the big plastic bag with a big smile.

"I also gave everyone a portion, Mr.Zhang you don't need to reject." Bai Yi Yang said. Zhang Yong grinned and after looking over the kitchen again, and took the big fridge measurements, he left the house with his car.

At about 8 am, the workers from Uncle Zhou factory came and with them, Bai Yi Chen also came from outside the house. Don't know where did he came from this early morning instead of staying at home.

"I went to inspect the mountain road if the lorry can go up or not." He throw this words at Bai Yi Yang before entering the bathroom.

Bai Yi Yang humphed and complain to the system about him behaving coldly towards him. She also didn't say anything to him anymore, she only remind Bai Yi Ling to told him to eat breakfast and enter the Main house to change clothes, today she is going to cut down a few more trees and make shelf for the laundry room, after that she is going to assemble the shoe racks.

Actually, other than these small things, she thinks the priority is replace their Main door and kitchen door, and also build a heavy and durable door for their main gate, but she haven't got the chance to enter the wood and find bigger and harder trees. Should she just do it? She can just bring back logs of wood and cut it later. It will rain heavily the next two days, so she won't be able to go into the woods to cut trees again.

So just like that, Bai Yi Yang change her plan entirely, she need to put aside these small matters since doors are her priority. She notified her siblings before going and enter deeper into the wood with chainsaw and enough gasoline in the basket behind her. She also brought her measuring tools and markers, a big ropes to tie them together later, its for her to show people that she only manage to bring back the woods because she use rope to pull it. Actually she can lift quite a lot of woods with bare hand.

Her objective today is to get as much woods as possible. Bai Yi Yang is aiming for teakwood, cherry wood or cedar wood to be made as doors, she knows that they are very durable, whether resistant and does not decay. But if she saw good woods then she will also consider it, if she found good ones, then she can also start making furniture at home.

Bai Yi Yang wander deeper into the wood to look for good woods. When she saw a good teakwood with big diameter, she decided on it. She carefully cut it using her chainsaws and manoeuvre it to the direction that she wants, she doesn't want to damage the smaller trees while cutting the big one.

When the tree falls, it made a very loud noise and the birds around it was scare away, she is sure the people at home was also alarmed. She tried choosing a place a bit far from the house but surely she can't hide it from them. Bai Yi Yang sigh as she look at the big tree lying on the ground.

She didn't waste time and quickly cut of the small branches, make markings then cutting the logs into sections, then plan the type of planks she is making. After deciding on the thickness and the type of wood, she start cutting. Her chainsaw roars non stop, she only stops when she need to refill the gasoline, cool down the chainsaw and arrange the finished planks and thick board.

Bai Yi Yang was very satisfied with this wood, the colour is pretty and it really hard compared to the pine wood that she cut near their vegetables farm, it was also heavier.

She look at the clock and it was already 10 am, she is only halfway done, she estimates that she will need at least 2 hours more to finish processing this wood. Her speed is considered very fast already, she has enough knowledge and skills, she also has practiced a lot while cutting the smaller pine tree. She found that processing smaller wood is harder than bigger wood, the outcome is also smaller in quantity compared to bigger wood. Well, isn't that a given?

She chat with the system while working so that she didn't get bored. By 12.11 pm, she finished all the cutting works. She looks at the piles of wood of various sizes and shapes and laugh proudly.

"Do you see this? I never imagine that I successfully break down a giant tree like this." She said to the system.

'Host is amazing but it's going to rain heavily in about two hours time, you better go back oh.' The system remind her.

"You are right. I can just run back and forth, piles this to the woods near the house so that even when it rains later, I don't need to go far. Or I can just ask Bai Yi Chen to bring it back for me." Bai Yi Yang start moving. She tied a big piles of wood together and start pulling it.

After she decided on a suitable spot, she returns and repeat the action. She came back and forth for at least 7 times before she can bring it all back. When Bai Yi Yang came out of the woods all sweaty from head to toes, Bai Yi Chen is at the gate waiting for her.

The lorry that the workers use is gone, only Uncle Zhou truck is parking there. Bai Yi Yang panicked, she was really a bit late, it is now 1.30 pm. She must have made Uncle Zhou waited for a while now.

"Ge, sorry. I wanted to finish the work before it starts raining so I came back late." Bai Yi Yang said.

"You..look at you, you looks like someone that will faint anytime." Bai Yi Chen came forward and took the basket behind her.

"I am fine, just a bit haggard. Uncle Zhou is here?" Bai Yi Yang follow Bai Yi Chen in.

"En. The workers left first, they just finished too." Bai Yi Chen said. Bai Yi Yang nod and come to the kitchen.

"Uncle Zhou, sorry to have made you wait." Bai Yi Yang sat down and quickly drink the water Xiao Ling poured for her.

"No problem, yatou you take a rest first. Did you really went into the wood to cut trees?" Uncle Zhou ask.

"Yes, that's true. I wanted to replace our old doors and make a door for the main gate." Bai Yi Yang answer honestly. Old Zhou family is kind to them, there is no harm telling them, they won't gossip about them orphans to the villagers.

"I see, I see.." Uncle Zhou said but he still doesn't think about is seriously. Surely the plant stand is sturdy, there are also the story from Bai Yi Chen, but people usually cannot believe what they didn't see with their own eyes.

"Uncle Zhou, let's settle the account now. It's going to rain soon, it's better to return before the rain falls." Bai Yi Yang said, she told Bai Yi Ling to take her phone.

After our workers was done and they calculate, the total area of the roof are 238 m2, before the installation, you had paid for 100 m2, so there is left 138 m2, the price will be 19,182 yuan. "It's just little things we have. Uncle Zhou please enjoy it with Grandpa Zhou and Grandma Zhou." Bai Yi Yang said. She even send him to the gate before coming in.
