Lost Chance 2

[Oppon...]

"SHUT THE HELL UP!" Brandon cried, hitting the sin back. The sin blocked, only skidding a few steps back. Brandon stepped back only to be stopped by the blood statue. The blood statue being to move its hands, indicating to both Brandon and Rachel.

"Vanguards?" Rachel exclaimed, "Hell nah."

"Agreed." Brandon said.

"What?!"

Brandon charged in, going to the side before launching himself at the sin. The sin snapped at him, Brandon barely dodging the bite as blood flowed profusely from his left arm. The sin was about to rush in, only to feel the pain on his left leg as Frank tore into its flesh again. The sin ripped Frank's face off, parrying all of Rachel and Brandon's attacks with both hands.

Blood tendrils sprouted from the ground, forcing Gluttony into the air. Gritting all its sets of teeth, Gluttony braced itself as tentacles of blood whipped at it, corroding its skin. From the sides, Brandon surfed along a wave of blood, getting up close and smacking the sin with his three sectioned staff. Rachel came from behind, slamming her knee onto the top of its head. Just before it could reach the ground, the blood statue went in, punching Gluttony in the guts, cracking its skin. The blood statue stepped back, however, as its left arm was gone. Growing back a new, the blood statue burst into several balls of blood, all homed at the sin. The sin tore out a mouth from its body, throwing it up. The mouth expanded in size, sucking up all the water around the ship. The balls of blood charged at the sin but it avoided all of them. The mouth began to gurgle the water and spat out a flood of vestorer energy. The blood balls rose up, forming a protective shield.

Using this chance, Gluttony rushed at Rachel, the latter who was unaware. Brandon blocked the strike aimed for her head, but a secondary impact still hit her, throwing her off board.

"RACHEL"

[Me!] The sin said, puncturing Brandon in the guts with all five fingers. Brandon grit his teeth in pain as he was kicked down below deck. The sin landed over his body, grabbing him by the neck and slamming him back on the ground. Picking him up again, it threw him up again, charging up a vestorer aimed to kill Brandon. A blood shield formed around Brandon, protecting him as he landed on the floor.

Getting back up, Brandon raised his fists. He was growing weak. He was losing a lot of blood and his rei was up there. Plus Rachel was in the water, probably sinking and slowly...

Brandon's aura burst up as he charged at the daemon, throwing a blow at its face. The daemon returned the favor and their fists met. Throwing an upper cut at the sin's chin, Brandon jumped up and dropkicked the sin's chest, backflipped and avoiding the swipe the sin made with its hand. Brandon could feel the wind above his head that indicated that the sin had tried to bite him. Jumping up, Brandon grabbed the sin's face and slammed it into the ground, raising it up and slamming it again.

With a slight glimmer of hope in the corner of his eye, Brandon let himself be flailed away by the sin. Just as he touched the ground, Brandon grabbed hold of James' naginata and threw it straight at the sin's chest. The sin blocked the strike, managing to the projectile but hit an open mouth.

Blood poured from the ceiling, corroding the skin of the sin. The sin wiped it off with his hands, unaware of Rachel who dropkicked it in the face. Rachel turned, punching the sin in the shoulder, right arm and chin. The sin swatted her away, ready to unleash a vestorer.

Da-dum-da-dum-da-dum!

All of them froze on hearing that sound. Brandon slowly turned his head to look up, following the direction of the sound.

High above the clouds, an evolved daemon was seen, a ring of balls around it, which its four arms played like drums.

[Gluttony.] It said hoarsely, [Time's out]

The sin, Gluttony, nodded, turning around as black frame opened behind him, widening up as black arms slowly creeped out of it.

[Time]

[Then]

"WHERE THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING!!" Brandon cried rushing at at the retreating foe, the veins on his head standing up with bloodshot eyes.

"BRANDON!!!" Rachel cried.

Brandon did not hear her scream. Nor did he see the blood that wrapped around him, He tore his way out of the grasp, launching himself at the sin, channeling all his energy into his fist. He could reach it. He could make it. He could kill the sin once and for all.

The sin stepped into the black frame, letting go off itself as the black hands pulled it into the darkness. Brandon's fist almost collided with the sin, but the hands emerged from behind him, pulling him back, leaving him to watch as the sin was absorbed by the many hands, evil smiles littered all over his body as he disappeared. The hands that held Brandon let him go.

Silence filled the air as Brandon stood emotionless, staring only at the empty space that had once been occupied by his foe. His legs gave way as he fell to his knees, tears streaming down his eyes. He began to bang the ground, screaming and crying as cursed Gluttony with every fiber of his being.

The Third Daemon Incident had ended.

Somewhere else...

The stars in the sky shone brightly on the earth which illuminated the flowers in the vast field. Atop the hill in the distance stood a damsel who danced gracefully amongst the many white sheep. The moon and the sun spun round the Earth, swiftly yet amicably changing colors from blue to red to green to yellow to purple. Songs were being sung by the fishes that swam in the river and the pale cloud let out an annoying sound of agony as it blew down thousands of droplets of little crystal xs that glittered the ground as it...

"Miles!"

"Wha...Where..." Miles woke up immediately, getting up from the rubble that he had fell unconscious in. He blinked twice, rubbing his eyes and focusing on the person in front of him,

"Agatha?"

"Good to see you still alive." She said coldly, "Can't say the same thing for your friends."

Miles looked down on the ground, gritting his teeth. "Which ones?"

"Go see for yourself." Agatha said, pointing north.

Miles stood to his feet only to fall back down. A nearby inquisitor came to his aid. The three made their way to an open field were inquisitors were being treated. Next to the bay, bodies had been covered with white sheets, some soaked red with blood.

Miles freed himself from the inquisitors grasp and limped his way to the bodies. The inquisitor tried to stop him but Agatha shook her head. Miles looked over them, recognising the body of Heinrich and Mize. He stood still, his eyes clouded with grief and made his way back to Agatha.

"Who fought the sin?"

"Oz."

"Prime Oz, huh?" Miles sighed, "It would have helped if he came earlier."

"It wouldn't." The inquisitor said, "The sin retreated, but Oz didn't come out unscathed."

"He's a prime," Miles said, "Plus he's strong."

"This wasn't any sin, kid." Agatha said, sitting down on the dirt, "This was the sin of sloth. Its never been killed before, which means it has been evolving for hundreds of years."

She took a deep breath before continuing. "We may have won this fight, but its clear now. The daemons, up until now, have been toying with us."
