Kael walked up to Jacquez, the usual smile on his face gone. He had a serious expression put on as he reached Jacquez, looking down on him.

"What do you want?" Jacquez said, not bothering to look at Kael.

"I received your distress signal. Or rather, Zhao Fan's signal so she owes me. But that's another topic for another time." Kael sighed, looking round, "I didn't expect to see you here, Ives Jacquez. The man who made his mark in his history as the threat to not only the inquisition but the Ragnarok Society as well. Your reputation precedes you."

Jacquez didn't bother looking at Kael. He didn't like the guy. Nobody did. His selfish ways and attitude put a lot of people off. Hell, he wouldn't be here if he was not coerced into it. Anyone who asked for his help would be in debt till he called for it. And it was always in ways that nobody liked.

Out of nowhere, he grabbed Jacquez by the collar and pulled him closer.

"Why did you hold back then?"

"Wha...at?"

"Your final shot. You hesitated, and you held back. Why?"

"I gave it my best shot..."

"Your best was enough to fell down the most impenetrable shields and fell people who had solidified their names amongst the strongest, Ives Jacquez. You have taken down far more dangerous licht energy users and daemons than this sorry excuse for a sin and yet you failed."

Jacquez looked away. Kael raised his eyebrows in surprise.

"Ho!" He exclaimed, "Was it that you truly wanted to save Ricardo Helms' life? The life of an inquisitor who was on the verge of death? How far have you fallen?"

"I'm not as heartless as you are."

Kael punch Jacquez in the rib. It felt like he'd been hit with a sledgehammer. "Disgusting." Kael said, "You have the guts to say such nonsense when you yourself are in no condition to make any deals whatsoever? Aside from Blake Alderwolf and Kyler Tason, all three of you are criminals. The lowest of the low. Scum. You have a duty to perform and that is to kill daemon. Your feelings are unnecessary here. We do what we do to kill daemon, no matter the sacrifices."

[Enough with this.] Avarice said, [He's mine.]

Without looking, Kael raised his hand in the sin's direction. An open coffin appeared out of nowhere and engulfed the daemon, with its torso sticking out. Avarice was left lying on the floor, too shocked to even try to struggle.

"There are no heroes or villains in this fight, Ives Jacquez. Just two predators sharing the same space, trying to prove their superiority over the other. No more, no less. Get that right, or you'll surely die next time, a not to a daemon."

Kael turned and approached the torso of Avarice. "Forgive my manners." Kael said as he picked it up, "I needed to remind him of his purpose"

[Damn you]

"Ha." Kael said, "I presume that you are the sin of greed. I am Kael Sannin, head scientist of the Inquisitor Science Division and a well renowned daemonologist, and as of today, you are mine."

Kael let go of the torso, which was swallowed up by a coffin. Satisfied, he turned to leave.

"Kael..." Jacquez called. "My teammates."

"They aren't my concern."

"And miss your chance to have Klaus Alderwolf in your debt

Kael looked at Jacquez and smiled, headed in the direction of Blake and Zhao Fan.

"And Ricardo..."

Kael continued to walk away, not bothering to look back at the injured Jacquez. "I do not waste my resources on dead men, Ives Jacquez."
