"Did you kill these soldiers?!" The knight asked over the speakers, pointing at the company of dead soldiers at his feet, her gun leveled at his head.
"No! They were ....I found them like this. I was just caught up here....on a gambling ring!" He cried out, making his best impression of a scared kid.
"I'm just a student! I can prove it." Lelouch reached for his student ID in his pocket when the knightmare cocked the gun.
"Don't move!" The knight warned.
"My student ID is just in my front pocket if you'd see it ..." He pulled out the ID and waves it in the air.
"I said don't move!" The knight repeated.
"I'm no threat! You can check it yourself!"
Finally the knight seemed to relent.
"Fine. Stay right where you are. I will come out and check it myself. But if you're lying...."
Lelouch watched the knightmare frame lower it's gun.
"I'm not!" He insisted, as the cockpit opened up and a woman stepped out, swiping her blue ponytail to the side.
Yes. Just come here. Come within my sight.
Now that I have this power, I'm invincible. The moment she looks into my eyes.....I win!
The woman stepped of the knightmare frame and walked around it, turning to face him when something seemed to catch her attention outside the trainyard.
"Wha-what's that? What are you-"
A blue beam of light pierced through her and she disappeared, flaking away into dusty particles of light.
A jolt of fear shot through Lelouch and he took a step back.
Whatever had killed her could not be good news for him!
But before he could make a run for it, the thing turned the corner and ....
It was a child.
A britannian child.
How in the- Oh!
Then he saw it.
Following close behind the child, tentacles of gleaming metal, almost noiselessly gliding across the floor in measured steps.
And attached to them, a man wearing a labcoat.
He swung his tentacles, and grabbed the knightmare frame, flinging it outside like a toy.
It sent shivers down his spine and Lelouch's heart raced with excitement.
If he had that technology.....
He reached into his mind and his eyes glowed with the new power he had acquired as he looked the intruder in the eyes.
"You, tentacled man. I, Lelouch Vi Britannia command you. Hand over that machine on your back to me and help me use it."
Lelouch burst with glee inside as he watched the man look at him in a daze, and the tentacles retreated into his back, before he began to walk over.
"There. Now hand it ov-"
"No."
"What?!" Lelouch exclaimed.
Was this power only effective on certain individuals?
Were there other limits to it that he didn't know of?
He would need to test them out-
"No." The man repeated, looking down at him as he assumed a condescending tone. "In simple terms, I am not going to give you shit. Not even literal shit. So bugger off, princeling. And don't try to mind control me ever again or I'll heal Nunally's sight before butchering you in front of her."
A thousand questions pounded in Lelouch's mind.
Who was he?
How did he resist the power?
How did he know about Nunally's and his identity?
Was he a spy for the empire?
Did they do something to Nunally?!
"I know what you're thinking right now. How did he resist my power?" The man teased, looking at Lelouch's increasingly surprised face.
"I have cognitohazard filters implanted into my eye sockets. Now move." He pointed out the faint blip of red reflected in his eyes.
Lelouch gulped and nodded.
Lelouch was a smart man. He knew when to keep his mouth shut and when to let actions do the talking.
But now... despite the fear pulsing in his heart, he stepped up, gathering up enough courage from his fear and rage, and walked over to the man in the labcoat.
"Wait! How do you know about Nunally? What did you do to her?!"
"Seriously?" The man smirked, picking up the green haired girl who had sacrificed herself to save him from the soldiers, and dropped her into an equally green pool.
No....there was no pool there.....
Was it...a portal? Like those fantasy novels he read about?
First his own magical ability appeared and then this?
It was almost as if he was the protagonist of a story of his own!
The man before him laughed, looking at his face.
"Seriously.....of all the things you could have asked me.....the first thing you ask is about your sister? Truly, you are a phenomenal siscon!"
"What?! No, what did you do to he-"
"Nothing. Never even met her. The threat though was entirely legitimate. Don't try to mind control me. I'm letting you go this time because I have better things to do than kill you, and because your sister would be sad if you died.
That girl is already so pitiful, I would hate to cause her anymore distress. As for you, just go home kid. And don't get involved in plots like these. Your sister's waiting for you. Ciao!" The man raised his hand, and Lelouch covered his face on instinct, closing his eyes.
The man pushed Lelouch gently, sending him tumbling back, roaring with humiliating laughter and by the time he opened his eyes again, the man in the labcoat had disappeared, in a flash of neon green.
Lelouch sighed.
Today was a roller coaster ride and he didn't have the energy to waste making sense of anything anymore.
Maybe the strange man was right.
Nunally was waiting for him and he'd hate for her to be sad.
.
I jabbed an adrenaline shot into C.C.'s body and she jerked awake, gasping for air, her eyes flashing a disappointed look, less at being awoken from sweet slumber and more at still being alive.
"Hello there. You must be C.C." I extended her a hand, lifting her back to her feet.
"How do you know me? Have we met before?" she asked, confused.
"Not at all. First time meeting you, but if you really want to know how I know about you, how about we make a contract?" I offered.
"So it's that after all, huh? It's always that." C.C. sighed, her eyes drooped with disinterest, "All men desire power, yet so few deserve it. Which one are you?"
"Why don't you find out?" I smirked, grabbing her hand, and squeezing it tight, "You have a wish, don't you Snow?"
Suddenly, her eyes shot wide, and she looked at me surprised.
"How do you-"
"I can fulfill that wish." I didn't let her continue, keeping the mystery alive. It's the easiest way to get a girl hooked on.
And this 800 year old 'girl' was important to my immediate future. Very much so.
"Can you really?" She asked with distrust.
I simply smiled and raised my hand letting loose a particle beam at a nearby column, vaporizing it instantly.
Snow looked on, first with abject horror and then as the effects registered to her, with relief.
"Instant. Painless. Death." I emphasized.
"Let's make a contract." She said, her eyes shining with hope.
"I knew you'd come to see it my way." I chuckled, as a pulse of energy shot from her hand to mine, spearheading straight to my brain.
And when it reached, when it hit it's target.....
Images.
Flashes.
Memories.
A church with a tree growing from it's sarcophaagus.
A massive planet carved with runes and psychic circuitry.
A massive spiral storm of swirling voices, swivelling in an unknown sky.
Maidens. Maidens upon maidens bearing the mark of psi. An unknown entity in the distance.
Spaceship. No, spaceships.
A voyage to the stars.
Something tried to infect me.
The entity tried to infect me.
And my earpiece buzzed and shocked, my bionics let out signals and hormones specifically made to counter such attempts and slowly, it's infantile grasp over my conciousness retreated, bruised, battered, broken. But not dead.
And that....it scared me. To my core.
I felt it's touch even now and it filled me with such deep and virulent loathing. Complete disgust.
I felt molested.
And then, fear and disgust were overwritten with rage.
How dare it?!
How dare it defile me?!
A murderous intent flowed of me in waves that sent Ace and Star reeling back.
I will kill that entity. Whatever it is. And I will make it suffer!
One does not simply try to mind rape me and get away with it!
Now I know why the SCP Foundation committed themselves to the extermination of humanity once the results of Project Pneuma were released.
I can see why.
And while I agree with the sentiments, I have a far better way to kill this entity.
My way to kill this entity.
Complete incineration of the psychosphere, the home of the collective consciousness of humanity.
And I know just the tool to use.
The Martian Vir-
"Papa? Papa!"
"Hunh? Whad?" I lisped, as conciousness returned to me, and I got from the floor of the cave system we had arrived in.
"Papa?" Riley touched my face and her shard's energy reached into me, trying to probe for disease and wounds, finding none.
"Ugh!" I clutched my head, "I'm fine. Just a little attempted mind rape by your boss." I glared at Snow, as Star put a lightsaber to her throat.
Or did he?
Why was I seeing two...four...Nine? Stars?
Overlapping each other....
What?
"This has never happened before!" She cried out, hands in the air.
"Star, let her go. It's not her fault." I tapped his little arms and gave him a hug.
"I was so scared, Papa."
"It's okay." I kissed his forehead, "Papa's not going anywhere."
"I'm sorry. If I knew..." Snow said with a wince.
"I get it. No need to worry. I'll keep my end of the bargain." I raised my fist at her.
"Wait! I'm not r-"
In an instant, C.C. or Snow White as she liked to be called, was vaporized. Torn apart atom by atom, till nothing remained of hers except a stray hair follicle lying on floor, glistening green in the blue light of the particle beam.
"Goodbye, Snow White. Hope you find someone to love you in the afterlife." I whispered, a prayer for her dead soul.
It was after all what she wanted. Someone who loved her for her, not what she gave them or what she looked like or anything.
Which, honestly is just crazy, because that's not how love works but eh....Being an 800 year old virgin can make anyone go nuts.
Can't blame her for that.....
Though her unrealistic standards....
I chuckled.
Guess women are the same everywhere, no matter their age or upbringing.
"That was cold, Papa..." Riley muttered.
I ruffled her hair, and sighed.
"She wanted it, Riley. It was her contract with me. She gives me the key to immortality and I give her the death she has been looking for for 800 years. Don't you worry your cute little head off over it!"
I stood up, and stretched, patting my daughters' concerned heads, as we made our way up the cave, to the massive door with glyphs and circuitry carved all over it.
An ancient ruin, one leading to the thought elevator, a direct point of access to the Akasha, the collective consciousness of humanity.
Time to up the game.
I turned around and, looked at the kids, each of them looking like blurs of overlapping images.... possibilities.
I pulled out a stasis beacon, and flipped it in my hand like a coin, and it too suddenly began to blur into various different possibilities.
Yup. I figured it out. That's my geass power. The ability to chart all possible paths a person or person influenced object can take.
Basically a diet version of the Mystic Eyes Of Heaven, or Dinah Alcott's Oracle shard.
I can focus on a person or object and see the many paths it can take and the outcomes it can incur and then choose which one becomes real through my actions. A lesser Path To Victory, if PTV required line of sight and gave your a retrogressive migraine everytime you used it.
So yeah, basically PTV minus.
I chuckled.
"Kids, take a seat. This will take a minute. Play some games or something.
Computer, initiate the probability matrix and get me a steady feed of data from one of our microverses. Let's power level this bitch up!"
I focused on my contacts and took a massive swig of mega seed juice.
Moment's later, the feed of data flowed in as I began to chart all possible paths the microverse I had made could take, calculating the trajectories of comets and asteroids, choices of the plant lion hybrids that worshipped me. I pushed harder and saw them make their first spacecraft. The Jay One. Named after their god, me. And it failed. Miserably. Burnt up in the atmosphere.
Sucks to suck huh?
I saw wars and famines and holocausts and rebirths and pseudo-christianity emerge three whole goddamm times after each apocalypse.
Fucking Christianity! Among plant-lion hybrids!?
I saw prayers and sacrifices, and a return to my worship and a brief stint of communism and forced atheism. And another holocaust.
Sheesh. People really like committing genocode huh?
I watched and watched until finally my contacts beeped in alert and two big red letters grabbed my attention on the screen.
Simulation Over.
Time elapsed - 31 minutes and 58 seconds.
I looked at the reflection of my eyes on my watch and saw two glowing purple psi symbols illuminated in my eyes.
I yawned.
Alright. That's that then.
I gestured the kids to get up and follow as I placed my hand on the construct, and pushed my power into it, as it began to glow and our bodies began to dissipate into motes of light.
Here we go....to the final stage of the journey to immortality.
